  1. Oh and thanks for this!
  2. I drink soda occasionally. Mostly i drink a lot of water, not much else. I do notice that I have more air when I drink soda. I burp a lot, but also get it out the other end currently, just almond milk. And not much of it. Although I haven't completely gone off dairy yet...working my way to that
  3. anyone know what these hidden flavors are?
  4. Dragging up a really old post. Anyone else frustrated with the new system and lack of search options? Anyway, just wondering if anyone has info more recent about whether any of these are still gluten-free? Thanks! BTW I take phazyme softgels, but don't always feel like they work enough. Maybe I should take 2?
  5. My husband's coworker recently tried an elimination diet, and said he worked with a doctor who helped him through it. Recommended I see him for this. Guess the guy supports doing the diet, so that's probably better than most doc's out there, right? Do you think the magnesium citrate is good, or would it cause more problems? My BM's are pretty random, although...
  6. Oh, another thing suggested to do is to take magnesium citrate the night before starting the diet. Wait two hours after dinner and pour one-half of the contents of the bottle of magnesium citrate into a tall glass. Add an equal amount of water and some ice and drink slowly. Repeat the same procedure with the remainder of the magnesium citrate just prior...
  7. Yeah, I've been reading about this diet all night and morning. Looking back on this list, it is a lot more generous than most. I definitely need to map out a plan, otherwise I'll be so lost and frustrated. Do you think I should work with a doctor on this? We just got insurance, and my PCP just retired, not a huge fan of my gastro...thinking about seeing...
  8. White Linen places ususally are more accomodating. I know I never had a problem eating gluten free when I was visiting Las Vegas with my mom last summer. Every place we went to was so great! Even the servers knew what I needed. That's another thing, I totally agree that until servers are educated, there will continue to be problems. I had a salad the other...
  9. K, tried to read through the thread, but I'm tired, and cramping, so I am just gonna ask my question...can't handle 22 more pages...sorry if this is a repetative inquiry My husband had lyme's disease about 7 years ago, and was treated for it. But they didn't get it the first time, and a year later it flared up again. Went through more treatment, and he...
  10. awesome thx!
  11. wanting to make some apple butter, but all the recipes i have browsed have sugar, and i was going to start an elimination diet, wondered how i could make it without.
  12. K was reading another website (drcranton.com) that gave this as a list of ok foods: -Meat: Lamb, wild game (except buffalo, I believe), deep-water ocean fish (orange roughy, halibut, tuna, salmon), turkey, crab, lobster, oysters, deer, rabbit, duck, goose, clams, pheasant, frog legs, quail, scallops, cornish game hen, sardines in olive oil -Veggies: All...
  13. yeah, i'm rather nervous about that, since i have a hard time keeping my hypoglycemia under control right now what is a good site you would recommend for me to do this?
  14. still trying to convince myself to do this thing, and wondered how strict i have to be on the diet. the website i've been reading (dietnet) says that i can only eat the following foods: cod, trout, mackerel, pears, parsnips, turnips, rutabaga, sweet potatoes, yams, celery, zucchini, carrots and peaches are all elimination diets the same? i'm just worried...
  15. where are these doctors located? i also am looking for a new gastro. anyone know who in the SLC/Provo area is good?
  16. looking on all recipes site now. is it the avocado stuffed yams, seafood avocados, or tuna stuffed avocados?
  17. Does anyone know if this is corn malt? I sure mix crispix cereal
  18. you know, i think i'm on the fence with this problem right now. i know that when i eat healthier foods i feel better, but i still feel this insatiable urge to eat what i can't, not even a specific food craving, but just reacting to my being deprived. i think that's why i indulge in so many sweets. but i'm starting to realize that exercise alone isn't going...
  19. i've heard that fatigue/lightheadedness is usually one of the last symptoms to clear up, gluten related or otherwise. i'd give it a little more time.
  20. Where do you find gluten-ease anyway? RX or just at the pharmacy?
  21. I'm so sorry to hear this. I'm praying for her family and for yours as well. How fragile life truly is.
  22. what a great website! a crock pot is a good thing to love definitely need to branch out and try baking in mine!!
  23. I also live off of Bette's Featherlight mix. I have a gallon rubbermaid full at all times, and use it in ALL recipes, not just the ones that call for gluten-free flour. I make gravy, sauces, etc with it, and it's the best! But yes, for the trial run, you probably will want to stick to mixes. Oh, and we also eat a lot of mexican food! I get fresh corn tortillas...
  24. Ah there you are! I just remembered I had a question about the recipe. I made the bread a couple weeks ago. It turned out so delicious! And smelled so good. My husband asked if I'd been making french bread I don't know what I did, but for some reason the bread didn't rise like I was expecting. Was only about 2 inches high. It seemed a little dense too...
  25. a very good point I don't think of myself as handicapped, but I do agree that this disease does cause a lot of restrictions on what we can participate in as far as "normal" social activities. I admire you in this. I tend to have lots of pity parties for myself when I feel like I'm unable to be "normal" in one way or another because of...
