  1. I have seen frozen chicken that looks plain but lists wheat in the ingredients. Also some fast food chicken contains wheat even though it is listed as grilled.
  2. We use Uncle Ben's all the time. Not that particular product though. Keep in mind many gluten-free foods will not say gluten-free on the box.
  3. Wow! That's not good at all!
  4. They keep moving the location. They are currently located where the large tubs are but they aren't always. Somemtimes they are on the end by the cheeses. Sometimes closer to the meats. I couldn't find them at at at the Everett Costco but perhaps I was looking in the wrong place.
  5. Interesting. My daughter has broken her arm three times in the same place and her thumb once. She is tall. She doesn't have celiac but food allergies including wheat. What does it all mean? I don't know.
  6. Thanks!
  7. I don't think my daughter has ever had mozzarella sticks so I would like to make some for her. But they have to have no egg because I am allergic. Would be nice if they could be baked as well. Any ideas? Thanks!
  8. Sorry to hear that! I lost my cat a few months back but we have since adpoted a mom and baby.
  9. Tonight's dinner was not very exciting. We had some frozen stuffed baked potatoes. They were really lacking in flavor! Also some bacon that needs to be used up and salad. The salad was the best part. That's kind of sad.
  10. I love to go into the dairy and produce rooms. Soooo nice and cool! We had a nice surprise today too! Target now has their fresh grocery. We saved a lot of money but for some reason the gluten-free chocolate chip cookie mix (Betty Crocker) was on clearance. As were some pecans. Daughter wants me to bake something now but I said I wouldn't until it cools...
  11. Are you sure you're not getting cross contaminated? Did you replace things like wooden spoons, non stick pans, toaster? Are there other gluten eaters in the house? Are you eating dairy? If you are eating dairy you might try stopping that for a while. I don't have gluten issues myself, but I do have digestive issues. So when my stomach is giving me...
  12. Good luck with that! I've found that the zucchini bread recipe posted in the recipe section on this website turns out well every time. But I've had little luck at all in getting an edible bread otherwise. Daughter likes Ener-G but most people don't. Mostly though she prefers Teff Wraps for sandwiches.
  13. Here in the PNW we have escaped the heat so far. It did feel warm today because it was in the 70's and it's supposed to hit 80 tomorrow. I have lived in places where it gets a lot hotter but here 80 can feel uncomfortable because so few places have AC. I've already filled our Chillows (hope they work) and have planned to go to Costco and Target tomorrow...
  14. I know this is an old post but I just now saw it. When I have made them, I did them the way my mom used to before she discovered Shake N'Bake. I didn't like that stuff at all. Anyway... I just put salt and pepper on them and put them in a pan with a little oil. 20 minutes on each side. Serve with applesauce and some kind of starch like potatoes or rice...
  15. Yes, Winco! At just over $5 a box. That's a real savings over Central Market where we have been buying it. Daughter loves the stuff! And husband loves it too even though he doesn't need gluten-free. Me? Not a fish lover. But serving that gives me an excuse to eat something I like and they don't. Heh.
  16. I buy very little at Trader Joe's now because of the shared equipment. For us it is not just wheat but a variety of things. Even their tomato sauce is made on shared equipment. My mom does buy their hummus and I believe the regular one didn't have the shared equipment thing but the organic one did. It has been a while since I saw any at her house though...
  17. Hummus cups from Costco or those shelf stable single serve hummus containters with baby carrots or rice crackes.
  18. Schar are good. Not sure if they have soy lecithin or not.
  19. Thanks! I just looked and sadly there are eggs in the crust. So won't work for me.
  20. Yes! When I tell people that something is gluten free I almost always get the same reaction. They'll make a face like it tastes really bad and even throw their hands up in front of their face. Even if it is a food that is naturally gluten free! And mostly they won't even taste it.
  21. You might also get your thyroid checked. An out of whack thyroid can give you symptoms of a panic attack.
  22. Wow. I would think the diabetic and vegetarian part would be just as hard as the celiac in terms of packing food for a plane. I took my daughter to a dance convention and we had to pack food for three days. We didn't even fly and that was hard enough. We took canned beans but I don't think you could take those on a plane. I am also diabetic. Type 2...

    ARCHIVED Good Gi In Seattle?

I go to a Dr. a little further North. Dr. Robert Chaffee. My dad also sees him as does my friend and as did her mom when she was alive. He has offices in Edmonds and Mill Creek. But I see that his practise also has an office in Seattle. Open Original Shared Link I have had my Endoscopies done at Swedish Edmonds by him but I don't know his exact...
  24. I don't think that's normal. I went totally gluten-free when my daughter did. Eventually I went back to eating regular pretzels, occasional bread and Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal. Doesn't cause any problems for me. I do still eat gluten-free pizza and pasta.
