    My husband thinks it's funny to pronounce the "j" in there. Nobody else ever thinks so though. My dad asks for corn "torteelias". *cringe* My mom ordered "crewsonts" for croissants. I didn't do well with French but I do know how that is pronouced.

    Interesting! My friend suffers from this. Her dad was a celiac. AFAIK she hasn't been tested for celiac but she has been told to change her diet and she refuses to do so.     It's true that we are surrounded by gluten but that doesn't mean you have to ingest it. Yes, every time you dine away from home or eat food that you didn't prepare, you run the risk of someone not understanding the diet and/or cross contamination. That's a given.     Nucoa margarine (stick) is made of soybean oil with no dairy. Benecol is soybean with no dairy. I've heard tell there is a Fleshmans (sp?) that is the same but I've yet to find it. I have seen some with soybeans in it which we can't have. I can't remember the name.

    I don't think diabetes in and of itself is considered a disability. I have diabetes and am disabled but I also have fibromyalgia, psoriatic arthritis, venous insufficiency and neuropathy caused by diabetes. More recently was diagnosed with gastroparesis. All these things add up.
