  1. chrissy, I'm interested in this idea and would like to see more discussion of it. This type of test seems to be all over the place with some people. I'm having my first follow up visit on the 23th, and want to ask my doctor about it. I'm guessing I'll have an endoscopy for biopsy confirmation of my recovery (and hopefully villi returning to normal...
  2. Geoff, Would you mind elaborating a little as I was considering getting some? Not crispy enough? Not sweet enough? Did you eat them in a bowl with real milk? Thanks, best regards, lm
  3. First off, I think there's usually other ingredients in it besides rice, onions & shrimp. Scrambled eggs & probably some oil. Sometimes peas or corn or carrots. Don't know if the shrimp would be boiled or not. Soy sauce as was mentioned or other seasonings. Then there's many cross contamination opportunities in the kitchen. I've always been a...
  4. B4Y, I would go to my doctor if I had an extreme ear ache. Throw in the mild sore throat, nasty fever, feeling really terrible and there's no question what I would do. I would call in sick tomorrow, call my doctor as soon as they open in the morning, and get an appointment asap. Sounds like you may need some antibiotics. best regards, lm
  5. Dear E, I'd say if you've been practically living on these things for 78 years with just some bloating, they must not be all that bad! I'm surprised they even had rice cakes in 1929. best regards, lm
  6. I'm not going to restrict myself to eating only products that actually have "gluten-free" on the label. I've been eating Brown Cow yogurt, among many others. I figure if there is debate about whether it is OK or not to actually drink grain alcohol (which I also do), then a "possible" trace from the grain alcohol used in the processing of the small amounts...

  8. dm, That is a really good question. I'd like to know the answer also. For instance, if you have severe villi atrophy, should you increase the dosage of some medications? best regards, lm
  9. wws, How do you go about determining the carb count with so many unusual ingredients? I'm not really interested in the carbs but rather all the nutrition; protein, fat calories, etc. I noticed that Lorca's recipe on Recipezaar didn't recognize our flours, starches, etc. I'm trying to gain weight and want all the good stuff I can get, and so tend to...
  10. JK, I think we need a poll on whether we need two polls, or is it three? best regards, lm
  11. Corinne, I have to say that I'm very skeptical about that statement. Could you provide a link to that survey? I'm very interested in seeing it. Based on the massive numbers of bottled water sold, millions of people would be getting sick daily if that statement were true. Could you possibly have meant contaminated with coliform? There's a big difference...
  12. My walmart has it.
  13. First off, you can't tell just by looking. You need to have stool samples analysed. Secondly, the post you just seen must not have been a very good one. best regards, lm

  15. Rachel, I had blood drawn & sent to Prometheus. I don't have it at the moment, but I think it was: Celiac Serology: 5-marker serology panel (Anti-human tissue transglutaminase IgA, Anti-endomysial IgA, Total Serum IgA, Anti-gliadin IgA, Anti-gliadin IgG). And the Crohn's disease test also. In all, it was about $425. I'm not sure, but I don...
  16. Sally, I sure hope so as I'm sipping some at the moment. One of my stepdaughters brought me a bottle from Sorrento. She's the smart one. Of course I'm sure you know all about the Danny Divito embroglio vis a vis The View? best regards, lm
  17. kb, There is something about boxed mac & cheese; I'm with you there. My daughters (now that they're grown) like the fancy schmancy deluxe with the squeese cheese. Sorry, no can do. Too mild; not near enough good old fashioned kraft mac & cheese flavor. I'm supposed to pay extra for less flavor? I don't think so. You don't mess with a good thing...
  18. They're tasty and can be used for poker chips also! best regards, lm
  19. What a great idea PV. Kind of like bagel chips? These gluten-free crackers are expensive and not very good. Actually, I think it's a stretch to even call them crackers. best regards, lm
  20. C, If you need a good Spam Balls in Clam Sauce recipe, let me know. best regards, lm
  21. igi2, I don't know, but found this interesting recipe for honey pop at google. Open Original Shared Link best regards, lm
  22. w, Which ones did you get? Are they good? They seem to have a lot of varieties. I'm getting really tired of all the crackers and such that have sesame seeds. Why does everything have to contain sesame seeds? Last week at the store I was debating between the Blue Diamond pecan thins and the Mary's Gone crackers. I got the latter, even though they were more...
  23. AE, That sounds awlful, I have two girls myself (grown up). I don't buy water, I use filtered water from my refrigerator dispenser. First off, the water from the tap is safe (I know 'cause I work for the water company in the laboratory). The filter is just to improve the taste by removing the chlorine. The chlorine is mandated by law and is one thing...
  24. TO, The bread making is difficult. There are so many ingredients. I make a big batch of flours/starches blend ( half & half) and that saves a lot of time and confusion come baking time. Make some muffins. Throw lots of stuff in there. Use the paper cups. You can get the muffin making down faster than the bread. Take 'em out of the pan, let 'em...
