  1. Some folks will also get their hair frosted to disguise the growth. My hair is too dark to do that though.
  2. Are you the only one in your family that ate the corn? If others ate it and didn't get sick then that would likely rule out food poisoning. Was it roasted on a grill that may have had gluten foods cooked on it previously? Did they have lots of straw bales around for decoration or to sit on? So many possibilities.   4. His diabetes educator is not an expert in celiac. IMHO the lets wait 3 months is cruel and unneeded. Ask his GP if he will give the 'formal' diagnosis if you put him on the diet and those numbers go down with retesting in a few months.   11. No corn or grains of any kind in their items that I have found. I get them at my local Wegmans and don't know if they are available where you are. Chebe mixes are also grain free. I used them a lot when first diagnosed. They are also tapioca based.

  13. That's a possibility but I would advise looking carefully at the ingredients on Aveno products as many contain oats.
  14. I am a fan of Grainless Baker products. Their French bread loaves are great for subs or just eating with cheese and pepperoni. They are tapioca based. I use Pamelas baking mix for things like muffins and Tom Sawyer is a fave for scalloped potatoes.
  15. With 4 of 6 celiac panel tests positive she has celiac. Since she has had the endo she can start the diet. You don't have to wait on the results. Damage from celiac can be patchy and easily missed so even if the biopsies do come back negative that doesn't mean she isn't celiac.

  17. Folks with DH often have to be quite strict with the gluten free lifestyle. You need to get your own toaster and tighten up on avoiding CC. If you are Catholic you will have to forgo the host.   19. That if you don't have one of the most common genes you can't be celiac even if blood tests and biopsy were positive. That if you have positive blood work but negative biopsy, or vice versa, that the positive tests were false positives.

  21. You need to take this up the chain of command. Go immediately to your chaplin who will be able to assist you in this process. Make sure you bring the records from the GI doctor with you along with a letter from him/her detailing the seriousness of your condition and the need to be gluten free. You need to be aware that the Navy will likely have 2 options...
  22. I agree they are extremely helpful for anxiety. I take them when needed for PTSD and never would have overcome agoraphobia without them. I was simply worried that with brain fog being the big worry for the interview that they might make things worse.
  23. It sounds like you are doing agood job keeping yourself safe. It can be hard at first but your diligence is obviously paying off. Good work.
  24. I would advise against taking this right before the interview since they could increase your brain fog and space you out even more than the gluten reaction does. If anxious they might help you get a good nights sleep if you take a minimal dose before bed the night before IF you can get a doctor to prescribe one.
  25. No one glutening isn't going to destroy your villi. If it did we wouldn't need to do gluten challenges for weeks for testing. When destroyed they do regrow fairly quickly but I think the inflammation and other effects on the GI tract can impact folks for longer. Myself I get a growling tummy within hours and very painful D 3 days later but then the GI issues...
