ARCHIVED Gluten Free Lasagna
Glutenfreefamily replied to VegasCeliacBuckeye's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
Im glad it turned out okay, lasagna does take a while to get it just right. Personally I dont like tinkyada lasagna noodles. I love them in everything else but lasagna. I love deboles and I use the no boil recipe on the box. My family says it tastes just like stouffer's. -

I dont think you will have a hard time with colleges accepting it either. My only concern is going back into mainstream schooling with my daughter but if we knew for sure she was staying homeschooled I would just use a.c.e. and not worry about the lighthouse accreditation (much cheaper if it wasnt). Its also a very good idea if you dont have a scholarship... -
Your welcome Im glad I could help out.

ARCHIVED Ok..day 5 Of gluten-free..what's For Dinner? I Haven't A Clue.
Glutenfreefamily replied to Kara'sMom's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
First I would highly suggest making meals that everyone can eat. It will drive you nuts making two meals for the rest of your life. I did it for about 6 months and I was so sick of having so many dirty pans and so much work. Also having to be so meticulously clean with crumbs and still getting glutened. White rice does great in meatloafs. I use it in my lentil... -

Thanks Are you still mcdougalling? There was a post not long ago on the mcdougall board about salad dressings without vinegar and oil. Tangy Salad Dressing 3/4 cup low sodium V-8 juice 3 Tablespoons lemon juice 2 Tablespoons finely chopped onion 1/4 teaspoon pepper Combine and chill. Stir before using. Makes 1 cup. ARCHIVED Deboles Noodles At Walmart
Glutenfreefamily replied to Glutenfreefamily's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Your welcome We use tinkyada alot but deboles is nice when I dont feel like trekking to the health food store. I love their lasagna noodles. -
I havent traveled there but I know fish is a huge part of their meals. You shouldnt be too far out from the main cities even be in the outlying areas since most of the country is covered by glaciers and its just a big road in a circle mainly with towns along the main road I hope you have a wonderful time and enjoy the lovely puffins that live there ...

This needs flour but its a good recipe, its a huge recipe so adjust it accordingly unless you want 10 dozen cookies 1 1/2 cups melted butter (you can use smart balance for a butter replacer) 2 cups white granulated sugar 3/4 cup mashed very ripe banana 4 teaspoons baking soda 1 teaspoon salt 2 beaten eggs, or egg replacer 4 cups flour blend...

ARCHIVED Brain Fog From Other Things Than Gluten...
Glutenfreefamily posted a topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Granted some of my issues that cause it cannot be controlled but I know a few of my other intolerances cause it also. Is anyone aware if this causes damage? I figure it cannot be good for blood supply or oxygen supply but Im not sure just what causes brain fog to know what it is doing to my body. Thanks for any replies -
ARCHIVED Flourless Pb/chocolate Chip Cookies
Glutenfreefamily replied to Joni63's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
I do a variation of this I skip the baking soda, use egg replacer and put in a tablespoon of pure vanilla. I usually triple or quadruple it because when I bring them somewhere they always go so fast. Mine dont seem to spread at all. -

Glutenfreefamily replied to Sarah8793's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Actually caffeine and dairy are issues for me so yeah chocolate is out if I dont want to get sick. Intolerances are very hard to figure out I hope you can find yours soon. My symptoms from it usually reside in 24 hours so it doesnt take long for me except for gluten which can take up to a week. -

You could use peanut oil or coconut oil. Coconut oil is expensive but it has health benefits to it. -
ARCHIVED Spaghetti Sauce Settles It

I had the same reaction I thought to soy but it ended up being the oil only. Lays staxx are made with sunflower oil and they are gluten free. Another good snack is Ener-g caramel apple bars, they are really good. -

Another option might be tutor through your school. My mom paid a certain amount out each year and I had a tutor from the school come twice a week for a few hours and give me homework, tests and I would turn in my homework. It was easy and I could do it at my own pace and most homeschooling companies charge also per year about the same amount. You also need... -
ARCHIVED gluten-free Baking Tips
Glutenfreefamily replied to bakingbarb's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
Im glad your asking questions, I wish I would have in the beginning since I struggled through so much not asking. Butter is fine to use in cakes, it does give it a lot more flavor and it wont change the texture of the cake that I have found. I have not tried freezing the dough but I bet it would work. If you do want it tougher you could try more flour... -

The eggs should not be a problem since they are baked in but I would refrigerate it for the whipped cream. It'll taste great and then you wont have to worry about it -

Im not sure of the differences. I think its one of those things where all the information isnt available. Even though Im really restricted its nice to have a list. I hated for years having to figure out what I could and couldnt eat, its very tiring and a very boring diet. I cant eat raisins but its the mold thing. Im not sure why melons are on the list but... -
