  1. Aw, that is great, ImSoHungry!
  2. I am a vegan Celiac and find helpful tips and resources at Open Original Shared Link. It is easy and fun to be a veggie and a Celiac- lots of meat subsitutes, too. You just have to be clever and try new things. Good luck, StarGazer!
  3. If a moderator is not on then your post will not be pinned, yet. You can always click your user name to find your posts. If the post is in the wrong spot it will be moved as well. Pinning ensures that posts go where they need to go! I hope that answers your question.
  4. Good luck to your Dad, SunnyDyRain!
  5. I really like Lundberg's Risottos. Yummie and some are vegan, too!
  6. Wow, that really sucks. It does hurt when people change like that. There is nothing you can really do but try to be normal. Just be nice to her like always and try not to worry about it too much because you'll just feel awful all day. Just keep going and as time passes you'll be fine. Good luck, BlueEyedManda.
  7. Yes, gluten can be passed through breast milk. So, removing gluten from your diet would make your diet gluten-free as well. My brother and I both showed symptoms of Celiac Disease from infancy but our symptoms were very different from each others. Just experiment with your diet and see how she reacts. Good luck, Emma's Mom.
  8. Chocolate waffles! That's for the link, Janelyb.
  9. I could not stop getting sick from casein after going gluten-free but am a vegan now and avoid it anyway.
  10. Hello, my adivce is to stick with naturally gluten-free foods while you learn the ropes. This would include fresh/frozen fruit, vegetables, meats, and such. Being gluten-free can be very easy once you get used to it. Start slow and then add in the new breads, baked goods, and products! Good luck!
  11. It is best to contact the companies to make sure they do not use any gluten in their products because many companies do.
  12. You can find a lot of mixes but from scratch is good, too. It gets easier the more you do it! Yes, you need to have two different toasters and make sure the wheat bread and the gluten-free bread are seperate. Good luck!
  13. I like to avoid things with gluten. It is better safe than sorry especially when it comes to gluten on my hands! Good luck to Alex!
  14. I am a vegan! It isn't hard and I enjoy it. There is another message board for vegetarian/vegan Celiacs but not many people post there but I like it- Open Original Shared Link. I hope it makes you feel better.
  15. Happy birthday, Rachel.
  16. Drive less and carpool more!
  17. Hi! I loved Portland, Oregon, PinkTulip. I was suprised at how friendly the city/area is to Celiacs. However, they have a strick thing about people who are not 21 being in bars and the bar area in restaurants, so, until your birthday be aware of that! Here is a link to my posting about my trip there with where I shopped and ate at: Open Original Shared...
  18. Did you look at http://www.yerba-mate.com/? Okay, the next parts are me guessing pretty much since I have never heard of this tea. Valor energetico is not an ingredient but since this seems to be an energy drink it is listing the energy value of the tea. Hierro is probably in reference to the plant Yerba de Hierro- maybe it comes from that. Good luck...
  19. My Brother had one for different reasons and my Mother said that while he really did not use it that it helped because it already established any issues that might have come up and had a plan for how they would be handled.
  20. Happy birthday, Debbie!
  21. You're hillarious, GeoffCJ. Good job taking a risk.
  22. That's great, Pedro!
  23. How weird! The one Celiac support group here went out to eat at a Georgia Maggiano's and I am sure no one had to bring a doctor's note.
  24. That's weird! I don't have my birthdate entered and the website will not let me change anything until I do but I refuse! I guess I am stuck with the title I did a few months ago since it did not stop me before. Come on, Scott, we should not have to tell everyone our birthdays!
  25. I wonder if they had instructions on the bag. I don't remember! Thank you, Missy'sMom and NancyM.
