  1. Corn Chex with apple juice instead of milk, the way I always eat it, half a banana and six almonds along with Tetley UK tea.
  2. Agreed. That way you will KNOW if you have a reaction
  3. Just bought their baking powder. Is it safe? It says gluten free on the label.
  4. I'm thinkin' this might make a wonderful alternative Thanksgiving main course this year. I'm not a huge turkey fan.
  5. I agree. I tried Pamela's years ago and hated it. Threw it away. Tried it again last week from a sample that I got at the Gluten Free Expo. Not as bad, but still pretty much bland, tasteless as pancakes. So glad I didn't try KA or BB or the other mixes. I have no problem making my own blend with the flours I like.
  6. Lovely! Thanks for the recipe.
  7. Tabz, these are the last muffins I made that turned out good. I suppose you could throw a few chocolate chips in and they would taste even better. It was the holidays when I came up with this version several yrs. ago. I didn't have any bourbon vanilla extract, so I substituted real bourbon and it came out fine. Pumpkin Molasses Muffins with Bourbon...
  8. I LOVE that cereal, also! Today, I had one egg, over easy, on top of homemade biscuit and another biscuit with jelly along with a cup of mocha. Then, a few minutes ago, I ate three small, well really four, Pamela's pancakes with syrup and hot chocolate (today is my ONE day off, so I'm splurging).
  9. I had wondered about that. Usually, I use 1 t. per cup, as well. Next time I'll up the xanthan gum and see if that helps. I never have the time to call around to other health food stores to see about getting guar gum. Will have to make a mission of it, I suppose
  10. Sounds like good advice. Will do with psyllium husk. guar gum is something I have not been able to find in Indy. They didn't have at Whole Foods last I checked or Trader Joe's.
  11. Rice Guy, I bought some SAPP baking powder and a new box of baking soda, both with 2013 expiration dates, and the biscuits still didn't look any higher. Tasted GOOD, though.
  12. Manna and anyone else who is making these biscuits, I forgot to tell you to preheat oven to 450 degrees after putting in the butter and before adding the milk. I'm trying them today with 1/2 c. almond flour and 1/4 c. amaranth. Will let you know how that comes out Edited this to say I like them BETTER by switching the measurements :)Had three with...
  13. Sorry for the derailment. What deposits? Where do you buy your other shampoos?
  14. I'm loving it. And what do you wash your hair with? I've started rinsing mine with apple cider vinegar. Works great. Can't figure out what to wash it with to get the detergents out, though.
  15. Hi Lemontree. Welcome to the board. I just use it to bake cakes and to make bread and biscuts. That's about it. Glad you found success in your new breakfast entree
  16. Wow! That sounds good, Manna. What is Med Rice?
  17. I edited the directions to try to make them more clear. Hope they work well for you. I really like them, even with all white rice mix (Bette Hagman's). Made change also from 3/4 c. milk to 7/8 c.
  18. Rice Guy, thanks! I will try that
  19. Good, I'm glad these are what you are looking for! amaranth has a distinctive flavor. I basically only use it in these biscuits and Takala's skilletbread. I get it at Whole Foods. The original recipe calls for 2 c. rice flour blend, so you can use that. That is the way I used to make them. Or, maybe try to up the almond meal. Did not like the taste of sorghum...
  20. OK. Here's my biscuit recipe. I retyped it with my changes and modifications. Biscuits – photo looks like Grandma’s You can make these vegan by using only shortening instead of butter, and your choice of dairy-less milk. 2 c. rice flour mix—I use: ¾ c. rice flour ¼ c. potato starch 2 T tapioca flour ¼ c. sweet rice flour ...
  21. I like Rudi's multigrain and cinnamon raisin toast. Don't have a bread machine, so dont bake my own bread. I do bake my own gluten-free biscuits sometimes, though.
  22. I like your reasoning, "It's like a chocolate donut, really." LOL! Yep. Works for me. Will definitely try these
  23. I love this with parmesan cheese sprinkled on top and capers.
