Hey
Scott Adams replied to Oliverg's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Many celiacs need to exclude other things like dairy/cow's milk, oats, etc. Sometimes these additional food intolerance issues will go away after months or years on a gluten-free diet, but sometimes they won't It would make sense for you to keep a food diary to find the offending foods. -
Recently diagnosed.
Scott Adams replied to LP023's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
If your diagnosis is confirmed via the biopsy (be sure to keep eating gluten daily until all testing is completed), then you should start following a gluten-free diet. If you do this properly, and are 100% gluten-free, you should see the worst of your symptoms diminish fairly soon thereafter, although other symptoms may take longer to subside. Once you... -
H pylori, leaky gut, protein and fat malabsorption

I will assume that you've brought this up with your doctor, but if you haven't be sure to. To me this sounds like it could be related to a vitamin and/or mineral deficiency. @knitty kitty or @Wheatwacked know a lot about the effects of such deficiencies, so perhaps they may jump in here. -
This is an older thread, but @Ramncats I don't believe that giardia lamblia could cause such issues--especially decades after it was treated. However, the use of antibiotics in children has been linked to an increased risk for celiac disease. Were treated with antibiotics for this, or something else when you were younger?

Colonoscopy prep

So I believe that there is a difference between a CYA statement like "they cannot guarantee the product is gluten-free since they don’t check it for gluten in the final processing step," and the reality that no gluten ingredients are used, and since this is an FDA approved lab that makes the drug, they must follow very strict cleaning and processing rules w... -
Celiac disease gut damage can take months or longer to heal, depending on how bad it is, so this could definitely be a factor depending on how long you've been gluten-free. Also, is your diet 100% gluten-free? If you are still getting trace amounts of gluten this can also prolong recovery.

I doubt the shots themselves could cause joint issues, but undiagnosed celiac disease or gluten sensitivity certainly could.

I also went through allergy shots for years, but it was more than 30 years ago. It started out in my allergists office where I would have to get the shots administered the first couple of time where they monitored my reactions and heart rate, then I could give myself the two shots a day at home for a few weeks until they increased the serums, then I'd have...

So Tired of the Stomach Issues
Scott Adams replied to Ginger38's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Most celiacs, and especially those who are still recovering and have ongoing symptoms, probably need a good multi-vitmin & mineral, for example One A Day. -
As far as we know this is very new science, and the test is not available anywhere yet.

Top Brands of Gluten-Free Rice Cereal

Nothing needs to be done, if a product has "gluten-free" on it this means that it should test below 20ppm and be safe for celiac disease. Search your meds here: https://dailymed.nlm.nih.gov/dailymed/- 8 comments

I've mentioned this in the past on this forum, but years before my celiac disease diagnosis I was seeing a well-respected allergy doctor for both food and pollen allergies. He ran various allergy tests and created two custom serums for me, one was for my pollen allergies, and the other was for my food allergies. To create these serums I had to do blood...

Celiac.com 01/23/2023 - The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) is issuing a public health alert due to concerns that the gravy component of ready-to-eat Hy-Vee beef pot roast entrée products may contain wheat, a known allergen, which is not declared on the finished product label. FSIS is issuing this public health al...

Which Alcoholic Seltzers are Gluten-Free?

I can't tell from their site, but here: https://goodboyvodka.com/our-method/ they say: "We start with a blend of California’s finest corn to give our vodka its superior taste. Using corn means that Good Boy Vodka is gluten free" so they likely are, but to be 100% sure contact them. -

In the U.S. all modified food starch not made with wheat, and labeled as such, is gluten-free. Perhaps she is reacting to dairy or corn?- 11 comments

General Mills did a voluntary recall in 2015 on a batch of their cereals shortly after they went gluten-free, and this did not happen again: There are political reasons why Canada has created a dual regulation on gluten-free oats, and it has little to do with safety, and a lot to do with protecting their oat farmers:

It sounds like a separate allergy issue, rather than something related to celiac disease. I doubt there would be any gluten in a rope dog leash.
