Most of us have been glutened before, especially those who eat out. Although a bit late, this article may be helpful if it should happen again:

Symptoms
Scott Adams replied to BamBam's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Welcome to the forum, and I'm sorry to hear about your recent issues. It's very doubtful that bottled water would contain any gluten, but if your gluten-free breads contain xanthan gum, or other gums like guar gum, it could cause IBS issues in some people: You may need to keep a food diary and try eliminating certain foods like casein/cow's milk... -
Recovery Time

This came a bit late, sorry, but if it should ever happen again, you may want to bookmark this article: -
It sounds like you have a great doctor who is doing all of the right follow up work, which is actually pretty unusual, as many people here have shared complaints about the lack of follow up work they've received after being diagnosed. I think you should follow what your doctor recommends, unless you're concerned about getting an endoscopy again. I do know...

Are you talking about whole cobs of corn, or the kernels, for example like you would get in with canned corn? In general this should not be something that you would have to worry about, as it should be naturally gluten-free. Here in the USA if there was a possibility of cross-contamination with wheat they would have to add an allergen warning in the...

Welcome to the forum! Unfortunately your story sounds a lot like the follow up care that those with celiac disease here in the USA receive--which in many cases, including in my case, has been slim to none. Any follow up tests I received, for example I have gotten follow up blood tests to make sure that my tTG antibody levels went back to normal, have...

Yes, and many people who have casein issues can often tolerate sheep's or goat's milk as an alternative, which I turned to for a couple of years after my diagnosis. Likewise I had to switch to duck instead of chicken eggs. After a couple of years gluten-free those additional intolerance issues faded away, although I still stick to duck eggs most of the time...

Welcome to the forum. You may also want to try good old prunes and prune juice, as they can work wonders.

Optivia weight loss diet

Hi @Miska, welcome to the forum. Only the makers of those foods can tell you if they are safe, so it would be best for you to call them and go over each one individually, especially any that are not labelled gluten-free. Many foods can be made on shared equipment, and if that is the case here, there is a real chance that there could be gluten contamination... -
Celiac.com 04/11/2022 - Van Law Food Products Inc of Fullerton, California is issuing a voluntary recall of Whole Foods Market 365 Organic Creamy Caesar Dressing because it may contain undeclared Soy and Wheat allergens. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to Soy or Wheat run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume...

There are different types of anemia, for example pernicious anemia, and some can only be detected by very specific tests. It might be worth it to go through these in more detail, then bring up your issues with your doctor for possible screening: https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/anemia/symptoms-causes/syc-20351360

Identifying Rash and Treatment Option
Scott Adams replied to HansG's topic in Dermatitis Herpetiformis
I know people can be very picky about their pasta...has your husband tried Barilla or Schar gluten-free pastas? Many non-gluten-free people can't tell the difference. I wonder if he'd switch over? -
Identifying Rash and Treatment Option
Scott Adams replied to HansG's topic in Dermatitis Herpetiformis
Gluten has been linked to dozens of issues which you can read more about in the category below, but I've not seen research on it being linked to granuloma annulare. It's certainly possible though. https://www.celiac.com/celiac-disease/celiac-disease-amp-related-diseases-and-disorders/ -
Poop advice!
Scott Adams replied to Mombles's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
If the cause of your symptoms is gluten, and it certainly sounds like some of your symptoms are gluten-related, as they improved on a gluten-free diet, then normally you would see some improvement by now. But if you have celiac disease, you could have flattened villi which will take time to heal, and it can take up to 2 years to recover, although most celiacs... -
I've not heard of either prescriptions as being common for celiacs, and it looks like vilafinil keeps you awake and alert, and modafinil has similar properties. The side effects of taking these can definitely cause sleep issues. Have you tried melatonin to help you sleep? It is a natural hormone widely available here in the USA, and is considered non-habit...

Although your symptoms if you eat any gluten may be mild, all the negative heath consequences if you to eat any gluten are still the same, so hopefully you fully avoid it. It sound like you could have vitamin and mineral deficiencies that often come with celiac disease. Are you taking a good vitamin and mineral supplement that includes a B- complex,...

Really high tissue transglutaminase
Scott Adams replied to StephD's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Just FYI, we just published this article so the trend to use blood tests only to diagnose celiac disease seems to be gaining more traction: -

Confessions of an Undiagnosed Celiac
Scott Adams commented on Jeanne Donnelly's article in Spring 2005 Issue
I definitely understand why you may not trust certain products, and cross-contamination can be an issue. It's highly unlikely that naturally gluten-free items like mayonnaise would be contaminated, especially if you use large brands like Kraft Foods that do proper allergen labelling. You may want to stick with certified gluten-free products, which use a higher...- 10 comments
