DR1-DQ5 neurological symptoms
Scott Adams replied to Murilo P's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Long-term relationships are never easy, but the fact that both of you seem to be trying to make sacrifices and work things out to stay together is a good sign. As you've probably already discovered, gut microbiome imbalance is being linked in research to more and more health issues, and scientific research on this is still in its infancy. Although we published... -
Your symptoms after reintroducing gluten could indicate celiac disease or gluten sensitivity. Blood tests like tTG-IgA aren't always conclusive, especially after being gluten-free. An endoscopy and biopsy are the gold standards for diagnosis. Advocate for a gastroenterologist referral, even if it means seeking a second opinion or a new doctor. Healing from...

This varies greatly from person to person--some get symptoms within minutes, and for others it takes hours or even days. This article, and the comments below it, may be helpful:

Yeast extract
Scott Adams replied to Amanda Hunter's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Here is an article on yeast that might be helpful--there can be trace amount of gluten in some yeast extracts, so if you're super sensitive you may want to avoid the ingredient: -

Digestive Issue?

As far as I can tell Gluten Cutter doesn't contain the key AN-PEP enzyme, which had undergone a considerable amount of research which has been published that shows that it actually does break down gluten in the stomach. -

Dermatitis Herpetiformis Help Please
Scott Adams replied to Caroline S's topic in Dermatitis Herpetiformis
Coconut milk is unlikely to contain gluten, especially brands from Thailand and Vietnam, as they don't grow any wheat there and use very little of it in their foods. I'm not sure if you are referring to a specific brand here, but in general coconut products have a very low risk of contamination. Most rice is safe, whether certified or not, and I don't have...- 20 replies

I've not heard of Aero ice cream, but it looks like this one might be: https://www.madewithnestle.ca/confectionery-frozen-desserts/aero-truffle-salted-caramel-ice-cream-tub -
We've done a detailed analysis on the Moms Across America study and found that 15% of GFCO Certified "Gluten-Free" products that were randomly tested by them were found to contain gluten at over 10ppm. We'll comment more on this later, but we updated the topic title to include this new revised amount (it said 10% before). 32 out of 46 products were...

Dermatitis Herpetiformis Help Please
Scott Adams replied to Caroline S's topic in Dermatitis Herpetiformis
Oats naturally contain a protein called avenin, which is similar to the gluten proteins found in wheat, barley, and rye. While avenin is generally considered safe for most people with celiac disease, some individuals, around 5-10% of celiacs, may also have sensitivity to avenin, leading to symptoms similar to gluten exposure. This article may...- 20 replies

Has he had his thyroid function checked? Many people with celiac disease also have thyroid issues. -
I am sorry to hear about your husband, and I hope his health improves. It's true that gluten-free replacement bread products are not fortified with vitamins like wheat-based products are, and that many people with celiac disease need to replace the fiber that they got in their diets when eating wheat products, but I'm not sure you can attribute his heart...

Are Ritz Crackers Gluten-Free?
Scott Adams commented on Jefferson Adams's article in Additional Concerns
Good question, and the answer would be an organic brand that is also gluten-free, but I'm not sure if there are any. Unfortunately the problem with elevated glyphosate levels is pretty widespread now, and the industry says that even the highest levels detected in that study are safe, believe it or not (they also said that many other pesticides and herbicides...- 5 comments

I think any restaurant, even ones that claim to be 100% gluten-free, can still have issues from time to time. As you can see here by the number of recalls for "gluten-free" foods, stuff happens: It might also be a good idea to take a break from eating there for while, and when you go back pay attention to see if you have any issues.

While I agree with most of the info in your post, I doubt this part of it is true: "90% of the doctors do not know what choline is...". I think it would be more accurate to say: "Many doctors do not know what choline is..." -

This one test does not indicate a systemic issue with all batches of their bagels--it could be just this batch, but could also indicate a bigger issue as well.
