  1. We are having a family reunion in Cleveland in a few months and I am already worried about what to eat. In addition to being gluten free, dairy free, fresh vegetables and fruit problems the added issue is that we will be eating ONLY in Kosher restuarants - there are only a few in Cleveland. These restuarants are either dairy or meat restaurants and I am...
  2. Sounds like you have a dairy allergy too. It is often part of IBS. The Hamburger Helper contains milk/dairy ingredients and that is probably what you are reacting to. When I first saw the gluten free Hamburger Helper products I was pretty excited because I happen to love that stuff but when I saw that they contained milk products I could not buy it. I...
  3. I've been eating this cereal and it seems ok. I bought it to use in my homemade granola bars. Yummy.
  4. I have trouble digesting meat too. After I eat meat my tummy rumbles and it feels like a baby is inside kicking. I can put my hand on my stomach and it bops and hops around. I probably eat beef once every 3 or 4 months.
  5. Chicken and rice soup is a good idea. Can't do hamburger meat - I probably won't be able to eat meat until I leave. Rice Chex is a good idea to munch on, thanks. I probably could get a plain whole baked potato from the hospital. Thanks for the ideas.
  6. I am about to go into the hospital for a few days for a total knee replacement. After talking to the doctor and discussing the problems that I might face relying on the hospital food, he suggested I bring my own. The first day I will be on liquids and drugs , and the second day I assume will be soft foods. I plan on making jello, and bringing my own broth...
  7. I also have Gastroparesis diagnosed by the capsule test. In addition I have GERD, hiatal hernia, IBS. I am dairy free and gluten free.
  8. Up until this year I have never had a problem. This year at 61 years old I am on two nose sprays and eyedrops. The doctor thinks that the combination of the bad season and my Remicade decreasing my immune system has made it difficult for me. My ears hurt but there is no infection and I have had a headache for a couple of months. My eyes are dry and sleepy...
  9. The rep from BoomerJacks told me that they had burgers and grilled chicken with buns although the fax that I received did not list those. The fax was difficult to read but here is what I could make out. Farm Raised Catfish - seasoned with your choice of Lemon Pepper or Cajun Seasoning: $9.99 Smothered Chicken - Marinated chicken breast, grilled onions...
  10. I have a fax at work with their gluten free menu. I will post it Monday or can send it to you if you would like.
  11. A new restaurant is opening in Murphy Texas called Boomer Jacks. There are other locations in Texas and I was wondering if anyone has eaten there? They have quite a large gluten free menu.
  12. I have UC, IBS-C, Gluten and Dairy free, GERD, and Gastro-Paresis... lots of tummy issues. I have been on Asacol for 6 years and Remicade for 5 years. I have been dairy free forever and gluten free for 2 years. As your colitis improves with the Asacol, you will find that you feel so much better. Sometimes I can't tell where the colitis stops and the gluten...
  13. 14. I understand. I'm not sure what I will bring, but I would hate to have a gluten episode when I can't walk to the bathroom!
  15. Me too. Now I am finding that peanut butter makes my lips tingle. Spoke to the doctor and his answer was, "Well then don't eat it." I find I definitely cannot do eggs, onions, garlic, spicy foods and I am suspecting something strange is going on with soy but I haven't done a food log on it yet. Still overwhelmed with all the rest. I am getting ready...
  16. I have total dairy intolerance -lactose and casein. It's pretty funny because cheese is my favorite food even though I can't and don't eat it.
  17. When I knew I needed a changed from liquid foundation I knew I didn't want to spend a lot of money trying out different items. I decided I wanted to try Bare Minerals but didn't have a clue where to start or what colors to get so I understand what you are going through. I went to a local Ulta store - hope you have one close. The makeup lady did a full...
  18. I also wondered why there might be gluten in deli meat. I was buying some Dietz and Weston meats and they have little tags that indicate any allergens. Very surprised to see all the varieties that had soy and milk ingredients. My fave flavor - brown sugar ham has milk ingredients!

    ARCHIVED Eggs

Yikes, I thought I was the only one who had this reaction to eggs. If they are mixed into something I am usually ok. If my DH cooks some eggs I almost die. I start on my Zofran and the nausea lasts for hours. He usually cooks himself an egg when I am out or on his day off. Every few months I might try an egg and then hours later, after being so ill I...
  20. I have the same issues. No dairy, gluten, eggs unless mixed in something. I have been eating 1/2 a Udi bagel with dairy free margarine with some thick slices of tomato. First I toast the bagel then add the margarine and tomato, salt and pepper and put it under the toaster broiler. Yummy. I can't do peanut butter but almond butter seems ok. I do have...
  21. When you are shopping, look for the word "Parve" which should be right in the front of the label towards the side. Parve means there is no dairy in the product. No lactose, and no casein. It is a designation used in Jewish/Kosher foods to indicate the absence of dairy. It can be the whole word written out or just a letter P in a circle, or sometimes just...
  22. Yummmy, do you have a recipe? I can't do dairy so coconut milk should be great.
  23. I agree. This is such a versatile method of cooking. I only discovered it about a year ago. I use the wraps if there is a little leftover food from dinner, I just add some rice and make some rolls and then take them to work the next day. I think I like the taste and texture after frying them in non-stick spray. The wrapper becomes tender and crispy....
  24. I was alone on Saturday and wanted something just for myself so I made Salmon in Rice Papers wrappers with rice and a delicious dipping sauce made from soy sauce, ginger, sesame oil, brown sugar and rice vinegar. Had a few that night and tightly covered and refrigerated the rest. For Sunday's dinner I sprayed a pan with some butter flavored non-stick spray...
