  1. Can she eat dairy? That can be a great way to add calories - add butter to veggies. Use cream in things like twice baked potatoes or oatmeal. Other wise, add oils to foods - olive oil to veggies or even meat or pasta dishes. Coconut oil to smoothies or other foods. Of course there are junk foods like Fritos, potato chips, cookies, etc
  2. They don't say that they won't disclose gluten. "The best way to determine if our products contain a gluten ingredient is to read our product label. This label includes an accurate, current listing of the ingredients in our products."
  3. Sorry KBart - this thread has really gone off on another tangent. Sometimes people will post things that need clarifying and I hope that info will help you in some way.
  4. Just a start. I use this site because it is easy to use. All the big Celiac Centers in the US do interact with each other. You can find that sort of info by looking for panels and research they have done together. 5. Not if they don't work. I think that is what some of us were trying to say politely. And there is no "real' Scientific evidence that some protein from a random food resembles a protein from gluten. Not trying to be un-friendly - just blunt
  6. I definitely would get those tested, too by an MD. I would skip the expensive and scientifically unproven "food sensitivity" tests recommended above, too.
  7. There is no real scientific evidence for this "cross reactive" stuff. Open Original Shared Link Back to the OP - It is hard to know what is going on with you. You don't know if you actually have Celiac or not. Maybe you should see a doctor? There are lots of other things that could be causing fatigue, like thyroid issues. Also, the limited diet may...
  8. Looking at the ingredients - I would eat them.
  9. I know Universities that have Food Science schools test. But it isn't cheap. I don't know anything about the particular tests you are using. I know some of them have don't work for certain foods and the food to be tested must be prepared correctly.
  10. I think you should get the Celiac blood tests. There isn't a lot of scientific evidence that these tests by this company are accurate for much. Open Original Shared Link
  11. I haven't been but I do know a family with 2 Celiacs that do eat there. I think your best chance might be when they aren't super busy.
  12. You will probably want to keep eating gluten in case the gastro wants to do a endoscopy with biopsy
  13. Sure. Why not? You don't really know what caused it or if it was actually gluten that was the issue. That's the problem with gluten intolerance - there are a lot of different reasons gluten might bother you. Maybe you have "fixed" the problem. Maybe you can eat a little without issue. Would make your life easier. Disclaimer - People with Ceilac...

  15. Sorry. No legitimate shortcuts yet. A couple of things being worked on, but not sure they are even into human trials yet. You could get a genetic test and see if you have the genes. But, about 30% of people have one so it doesn't mean you have Celiac - just that it could develop.
  16. Open Original Shared Link "A gluten challenge is the period of time when gluten is added back into a person’s diet to assist in the diagnosis of celiac disease. Antibodies take time to build into the blood stream before they can be detected through blood analysis. For a gluten challenge we recommend eating 1/2 slice of bread or a cracker each day for t...
  17. Are they labelled gluten free oats? Regular oats often have a high level of wheat/ gluten in them by accident. Trying to find an article I saw recently. It said that a few Celiacs seem to react to oats.
  18. Follow up testing is recommended/standard of care for Celiac Disease. If your antibodies are still high, it might tell you something. IF they are great, that might tell you something, too. "How often should follow-up testing occur? New celiacs should receive follow-up testing twice in the first year after their diagnosis. The first appointment should...

  21. I use to take my kids to those places. We just went early and left at lunch time. Sometimes we bought a drink. Or go for a few hours in the afternoon and leave. Kids can play for a few hours without eating. You could also bring a blanket and go outside and picnic and come back in? ADA doesn't really apply for choices. You have a choice to go to a...
  22. Here is a story of someone I know - she isn't on C. com. Diagnosed with Celiac in her late 70's about 4 years ago because one of her kids was diagnosed. She is doing great. She doesn't work but is very active and a gourmet cook (that takes a lot of time, more than I usually want to take). She is busy packing up her house to move somewhere warm - where...
  23. I told my 19 yr old son - so not really into sweet gooey stories. He thought it was great! Kind of reminded him of he and our kitty - she was out of hiding and into his lap in 15 minutes.
