ARCHIVED Cleaning All My Daughters Plates Etc
kareng replied to vyky's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I'm not sure what " milton" is? The basic idea is - can you clean it well? If it had lots of little cracks or holes- then it is hard to get the food out of every crevice. A Colander is especially difficult to scrub out every hole. So, if you can get them clean - use them. -

ARCHIVED Still Feeling Sick
kareng replied to Maria B.'s topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
If your blood tests were super high, they can be more than they can measure. For instance, one of mine was >100. It could be 102 or 1002. So mine didn't seem like it went down very far after a few months because , who knows how high it was. Also, it can take a long time to get to normal. Soy bothers some people with Celiac or without. Soy if fine... -

kareng replied to 3groovygirls's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms

Not much I can tell you that you want to hear. Perhaps your husband could read some info here Open Original Shared Link Also, if he has ulcerative colitis so bad he had his colon removed, isn't he supposed to be on a special diet anyway? Don't they usually recommend low gluten as part of that diet? I think you should be talking to the GI doctor. -
ARCHIVED Garlic Jim's Gluten Free Pizza

One slight contamination should not cause sufficient villi damage to mess up your iron absorption. Perhaps if you eat something with cc every day for 3 months? Were you looking for people who eat this pizza everyday? -
ARCHIVED The Fresh Market Gluten-Free Food List
kareng replied to Mid-Thirties-GlutenFree's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications

ARCHIVED Painful Glands - So Over It
kareng replied to IWantCookies's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I wish you would have gotten tested before going gluten free to see is you have Celiac disease. If it's only been a week, you could start eating a little gluten each day and get tested. Then you would know if you have an actual disease or not. -
