  1. Mariposa has 2 locations - Ferry Bldg & the edge of Berkley. You can get bakery stuff & sandwiches. We had good luck with IN & Out burgers. There are all the usual chains.
  2. You would need a new one to get diagnosed anyway. Maybe you didn't have Celiac then but you could have it now.
  3. Most "functional medicine doctors" are not MDs. I am happy if you feel these tests helped you but there are no medically/scientifically proven tests for food intolerances. Allergies are different and there are some ways to test for them.
  4. I am having a hard time understanding what you are asking..... so I'll answer with the general rule as this is a Celiac website - People with Celiac Disease should not have any barley or wheat - in beer or otherwise. Regular beer is not safe for Celiacs. It doesn't matter to a Celiac what the ppm are on these beers as they are likely over the...
  5. We cook frozen gluten pizza in our oven ( I have an 18 & 20 yr old). No big deal. Pizza doesn't jump off the pan onto another pan. We order gluten pizza and they eat it at the table. Once again..it's not jumping around.
  6. Look at the DH section. Are you eating very low iodine for the DH?
  7. I love this! " upset the balance"!
  8. Without the gene, its not likely that you have Celiac disease. Open Original Shared Link I would get all the blood tests, gene tests & pathology report from the endoscopy. See how positive the blood test was. IF the blood test is only slightly elevated and the endoscopic biopsies are negative, maybe you don't have Celiac disease. ...
  9. Don't be calling us for bail money!
  10. How long ago was the endoscopy? How many samples did the doctor take? You have about 20 feet of small intestine, it is easy to miss the damaged parts. Get copies of your blood work and your endo/pathology. If its been a few years and you are still eating gluten, you could get all this re-tested. IF you have Celiac disease and continue to eat gluten...
  11. I wouldn't do a gluten challenge while pregnant. That could harm or kill the baby. Reasons to have a diagnosis as an adult- - Helps with a reason to get your kids tested - Hospital & other health care places should feed you gluten-free (some are still clueless about the gluten-free diet) - Ever want to participate in research studies - New medications...
  12. This was for som e of the stadiums last year. Haven't seen one for this year. Out stadium sells, wine, mixed drinks, Red Bridge beer, popcorn from a popcorn only stand, ice creams, frozen lemonade so peanuts, chips, some candy, hotdogs ( no bun ) if you go to the grills not the main concession stands. 13. I'm not sure you will get many answers. Morocco sounds very interesting. Sounds like you are going with some sort of tour. Have you asked the tour group about this? Maybe you could email their person in Morocco and talk about it?
  14. Sorry but the OP hasn't been here in 7 years.
  15. Had Sav Blanc here with cheese, peppered salami, fruit & Crunchmaster & Breton crackers.
  16. The general idea is - can you clean it well? A toaster- not really cleanble. a colander - really hard to clean every little hole. Pyrex lasagna pan - cleans so well in the dish washer. My crockpot is slick and seems to clean up well. I never really put much in it that is gluten either. For my mixer, I set it in the sink and squirted it with a mixture...
  17. I don't know but I know Target brand equivalent said gluten-free on it. If that is an option for you?
  18. When I said " expect" I picked the wrong word. Should have said I wouldn't let anyone cook for me, even if they offer. I tell them " I don't expect anyone to go to all the extra trouble that cooking for me will be.". I think that sounds nicer than " there is no way someone like you can figure out how to make safe food for me". I have found it makes...
  19. I wouldn't expect her to cook gluten-free. You offered to bring food for everyone and she said no. Just bring your own food or eat first or don't go if you don't really want to go. I usually tell people I will bring my own food because its a pain to figure out how to cook safely for me.
  20. A new chain & all the food is gluten-free! Right now only in Dc area and a couple in California Open Original Shared Link
  21. That is up to you. If you think it is washed well it is OK. You know her. You could get her a cute plastic one to use. too.
  22. I don't really worry about this wooden cutting board thing. If it has been washed, I doubt we can really be glutened by it. I worry about people with lax cleaning habits and who might have cut things on actual bread crumbs. But you know who they are. what I do worry about at these gatherings is the crackers and stuff that people drop on the cheese...
  23. In all fairness, I feel I must answer this. I don't really have any other food issues. Nothing I would call an intolerance. I think it is normal for everyone , Celiac or not, to have some foods that might not work for them. I know many people that are lactose intolerant, for example. They don't have Celiac. It is just a fact that adult mammals don't...
  24. I am sure all the Celiac researchers may change their minds, too when they see some evidence of another gene. But until then, I have to go with science and the experts and the current, researched knowledge when posting on this site. There is lots of research out there about the Celiac genes. You can certainly read some of it if you wish. Or not read...
