  1. We have had several threads over the years about Taco Bell. First - never go by any info more than a year or two old. Second - read the whole dern thread! You will see that we had at least one thread, that I remember, from a troll trying to tell us she eats and works at Taco Bell and its OK. There are probably 10 other posts saying "NO". I think we...
  2. I can give you the recipe if you want. I didn't do it, Mom! IH did!
  3. A salad isn't always safe in some places. I did not mean to say that you need to watch bananas! In fact most of that answer isn't what I said. I just tried to show that there are other foods that sometimes can cause the same "symptoms" in some people! I think about all I can say right now, as this is getting frustrating for me, is - Use some common...
  4. I think we have some cross -over going here between threads. But I'm going to take the time to say it again here for the sake of future readers. Jus because some random person on the internet says Taco Bell or Wonder Bread are OK, you must use some common sense. Checking the place's own website or asking for the list they have in the Taco Bell of allergens...
  5. When I first went gluten free (for about 4-5 months) a little corn didn't bother me. Fresh local corn was good. But too much other corn products bothered me. Bananas give me a lot of the Celiac symptoms. I'm not saying that bananas have gluten - its just a food I know I have never had good luck with. Eating at Taco Bell makes me wonder where else...
  6. You said this lady didn't want your help. This nurse should be fired for talking to you about a patient's care, especially mental health issues! As a person who worked on and with Health Information Laws for many years, I'm upset about this. However, when your friend is better, she will be able to sue the hospital or doctor and this nurse for a lot of...
  7. You can have Mac and cheese and hot dogs, too. The hot dogs are easy...pretty much all in the US are gluten-free. Udis and a couple of other companies make hot dog buns if you want one. I eat mine without with a knife and fork. Mac and cheese might take a bit of effort to make from scratch. I think there are a couple gluten-free " Kraft Mac & cheese...
  8. The buzzy, pressure filled, bit dizzy and relieved with a big breathe - sounds like what happens with a bit of a stuffy head from a cold or allergy. Some allergens are really bad right now. Not sure if that is it.
  9. We had oven chicken& spinach risotto. Always a big hit with my guys!
  10. Just a couple of thoughts. She isn't low on IgG, but can be low on IgA. her doctors can't discuss her case with you without her permission. You might be able to make some suggestions to her or her family?
  11. I wouldn't worry too much about 3 days. Just start eating some gluten again until all your testing is done - blood and endoscopy.
  12. "Tacos" require a fried shell. They should be corn. "real" Mexicans I know, put the filling on the corn tortilla and cook it in a skillet with some oil. He had enough groupies around him. He may have thought I was a stalker because I kept trying to get a nice pic of him for IH~!
  13. I used to be a fan of Blue Buffalo but not anymore. My vet says, and there have been recalls by the company, that there is too much vit D in their dog and cat foods. Both my cat and dog had issues with that. Once on another food, they were fine. Also, they were making some of the food near us and the vet went to see the factory. They leave the ingredients...
  14. like D said, go to the top and " follow" topics. Check in your profile and see if you have selected notifications by email. To do this, click on your picture, then towards the upper right is " edit profile". Then on the left will be " notification options". If your email has changed, you will need to fix it, too.
  15. I'm not sure what test you actually had. IgA is attached to several. The plain IGA test is just to see if you can make the antibodies that are being tested or do they have to use a different test. At the Celiac conference, they were discussing that tTg can continue to go up for a week or or two after you stop eating gluten.
  16. I don't see an HLA DQ2? I am at the International Celiac Disease Symposium right now. All the doctors say that, except for a very rare exception, you must have a HLA DQ2 or DQ8. DQ2 is the most common. They say there are other genes that contribute to the expression of the DQ2 or 8 but you do not have Celiac without the 2 or 8. That doesn't mean that...
  17. I'm at the International Celiac symposium in Chicago. I sampled the BEST gluten-free bread ever. It's only available in Europe. It's made in Sweden. I don't know if you can get it...but it's YUM! everyone kept asking if its really gluten-free! Www.fria.se
  18. I'm in Chicago right now at the Celiac Symposium. We had Wildfire last night at the Welcome Reception. It was Mac n cheese ( really high class Mac & cheese) and a chopped salad! Yum! Www.wildfirerestautant.com
  19. I am at the Intl Celiac Symposium. All the docs are using tTG. A doc just asked about why they aren't talking about EMA. They said that it isn't as specific and that you can get a slight positive one day and it is negative the next. I have no references but that gels with what your doc said.
  20. Love the exact number " multiple". You could be non celiac gluten intolerant. If the gluten-free diet makes you feel better, you can continue it but also continue looking for other issues.
  21. So what exactly are the blood tests, results and ranges? What does the pathology report say? Does it say 5 biopsies? Are they all of the intestine? None of the stomach? What are the pathologists findings? I just want you to understand and be able to make informed decisions and ask good questions of the doc
  22. Enjoy life is a reputable gluten-free company. I think we just had those for lunch here at the Celiac Symposium. I didn't like them before and they taste the same now. Lots of people loved them so I think it's just me.
  23. Get a copy of all your blood work, the Procedure report and the pathology report. Read them. See if he even took any samples ( biopsies). He should take at least 4-6 of the small intestine. Get all those things and we can help you understand them. Do the test he wants and get that results in writing, too.
