  1. I bet no one you know has actually made chocolate! No one I can think of has! This is great!
  2. Wines are gluten-free but I think they need some type of yeast to ferment and become wine. I don't know if there is any detectable yeast left after it becomes wine. You might want to google that & see if there is a winemakers site that would explain that. Open Original Shared Link Here's a bit of the article. The good news is that most wines...
  3. My son gets itchy when he sweats. I wish I could find the article but this is apparently common for white people who live in humid areas. It's a benign skin fungus. Washing the skin with Head & Shoulders makes it go away. Just thought people might like to try that before thinking they have your Urticaria. It's easy & harmless to try for a few...
  4. Is this gluten-free beer?
  5. Why are you eating KFC? If you are eating like that, you are not gluten-free.
  6. I figured it would be hard to keep people not in an enclosed environment " gluten safe". This seems to be one of those things that currently is probably impossible to test. Maybe someday they will be able to test differently but there's probably no money in it. At Robotics, I helped some kids hand sew Velcro onto the bumpers. Since the cloth was already...
  7. I told my hub about this! He soooo wants to do this. Emily's price on the cream at Aldis is really good. I needed 1/3 cup today for ganache and the little school lunch milk size at the regular grocery was $1.59. I go by Aldi's all the time so I will stop in.
  8. Wow! I guess it would be a death sentence for you....
  9. I have been eating them. I just like the dark chocolate or the dark with nuts.
  10. I just don 't have the time to read all that today as its the last few build days for First robotics and i have to help. so I'm going to ask one who has read it. How did they know that the person only got 1.5 mg? Did they have to stay in a controlled environment? Maybe something they assumed was gluten-free had errant crumbs or something? This isn...
  11. You should write a note to your insurance company explaining why you will need them to pay for a second endoscopy or why they shouldn't pay for the one that was done. Give them some quotes with links to info from some of the Celiac disease centers to back up the need for biopsies. The insurance may not pay for anymore tests based on that botched endo.
  12. I emailed the company to see if they would like to set the record straight. I have heard they don't use the barley anymore. Stephanie's link is the first current " real" info I have seen. The rest are rumors or people's experiences which may be gluten or may be something else. I agree with a1956chill, if it bothers you, don't use it.
  13. Please note that the original info on this thread is over 4 years old. Products can change. You should look for more current info.
  14. Every October, the Univ of Chicago Celiac Ct has free Celiac blood tests. The post card they sent me said that you needed to be on a full gluten diet for 3 months.
  15. I am soooo going to try this just for the fun factor! "Yes, Dear Family, I even made the butter!" You could probably add stuff in like herbs or honey.
  16. I don't remember seeing this in the ingredient list. What sort of food is it in?
  17. Sounds like you know how to make the supplements work. I never had a doc explain it to me so I thought I would make sure. There is no reason he couldn't eat something with it, just not dairy. If you are giving him a citrus juice on an empty stomah that can be irritating (lots of acid). Ther are foods that have a lot of iron if he would eat them. I remember...

    ARCHIVED Way To Go Joy!

    Wow!
  19. Is he taking any iron supplements? Is he taking them properly? On an empty stomach and no food for an hour after. If he really needs something, he can have fruit or a piece of meat with it. Never dairy with the iron. Dairy keeps it from absorbing. Also, vitamin C and B12 everyday to help use the iron to make healthy blood cells.
  20. I agree with Rose. Tell them about the celiac. Why can't they help you get a job registering patients at a hospital? Or filing? Or cleaning? Etc.
  21. I'm curious because I think it might be good to cook with almond or coconut milk but don't really want to drink it - can you freeze it? Would seem like a good idea if you can't use it all before it goes bad?
  22. I only do FB on my computer or iPad. I can't see anything that dinky on my phone!
  23. I never thought you could make your own chocolate like this. Very cool! When you try it, could you repost here & tell us how it goes? PLease?
  24. I think it would be unlikely that they would re- formulate all thier products in less then a year to include gluten ( an issue they show they are aware of). Don't be surprised if you get a CYA statement that says they don't add gluten but won't guarantee gluten-free status. That usually just means they don't spend the money to test.
  25. I hope so! This from the website. It was with FAQS, something like "more FAQs" Is there Gluten in Vicks? Published 11/14/2005 03:12 PM | Updated 03/10/2011 10:39 AM Is there Gluten in Vicks? You'll be happy to know that none of our Vicks products contain gluten. Open Original Shared Link
