  1. Sorry but I think your mom may just be making fun of you. Dogs could probably be trained to smell wheat, rye or barley. But what amount would they need to over power the smell of the burger the restuatant cooked on the same grill they just toasted a bun on? Also, I have been seeing a lot of people with service dogs that aren't being utilized. It's...
  2. If it was Halloween, you could post the pic! Feel better. Stay away from cows and cow products.
  3. You might want to email Anheuser- Busch about that beer. I think its just the regular beer with lime added. So it may not have wheat, but it does have barley. Not sure they make any rice beers. i have emailed them before, & they were pretty quick to respond.
  4. Just bring some food. Don't fuss. Just take it out when everyone else is eating. You could skip the restuarant if there is a chore you could help with like distributing flowers or going back to the house and cleaning up or whatever.
  5. My mom has offered to make stuff where all the ingredients are gluten-free. The problem is her equipment isn't. She would boil and drain the potatoes in the same pan and colander she has used for regular pasta for 25 years.
  6. Wow! So good it's worth stomach ache and boils! I must try this! Hope it's not too bad.
  7. No you don't tell her. Her son tells her how sick you were but doesn't place blame. He tells her you are trying to figure this screwy diet out and gluten lurks in strange places. That it is common for there to be other foods that cause people like you issues. He tells her he is worried about you. Her mommy instincts should have kicked in by now. He tells...
  8. My Hub says, " I brushed my teeth.....". I guess that's the new come- on line at my house.
  9. Will go great with my Santa of the day! Tomorrows Santa is a bit odd. I hope you will all have an open mind and realize that Santa' s come in all races and species.
  10. That's so kind of you! Can he do your homework? Just for practice, of course.
  11. Is she never coming back? I figure mine will come back for breaks and such so I will have to keep a space for them. Does she know what she wants to study? J want to do mechanical engineering but not sure where he is going. Probably somewhere sort of local.
  12. I'm afraid this diet wouldn't work for me. All the cheese, butter, etc I would put on the potatoes would probably make me gain weight.
  13. I thought maybe these boots. Jesse might find these more interesting. Open Original Shared Link
  14. There are some tricks to taking iron that most doctors don't tell you. Iron is better absorbed if it is the only thing in your stomach. No food 1 hour before and 2 hours after. If you must have a little something, banana or apple is good. No calcium foods or grains with iron. I did this with some high dose iron and it helped get it back up. This...
  15. I just clicked on your post and this came on GMA. Open Original Shared Link I think this applies to people with healthy digestive tracts that are absorbing nutrients. May need to "OD" on a vitamin when you can only absorb part of it.

I put my red tape on anything they can't share without asking. Probably helps that some of the things I like, my boys don't.
  17. Yes, he is holding a pot of gold. The previous Santa ( with beady eyes) is one of the more expensive china doll type.
  18. I use the adult Sudafed brand because they said it was gluten-free. The Walmart brand said they weren't. Sounds like a legal CYA statement.
  19. One of mine, too. I had a baby boy, where did he go? That big creature in my house must have eaten him!
  20. This is the one my Hub found on CNN. We used those Del-? gingersnaps. It was good. For the crust: 2 cups gluten-free gingersnap cookies (35 to 38 cookies) 2 tablespoon sugar 1/3 cup butter or margarine, diced small 1 tablespoon rice flour Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Put the cookies, rice flour and sugar into your food processor...
  21. Isn't that a Kraft product? Kraft labels all the important (gluten) allergens clearly.
  22. I think I will get this on a decorative sign for the front door!

Get your lunch all put together the night before. (no I'm not your Mom sneaking in here). If your food court has a Wendys, you could get a potato. Maybe a yogurt or a fruit or pack of nuts. Bag of chips or Snickers bar.
  24. My exact problem. I think I will specifically have to call the ones that ususally bring stuff and explain. I was thinking about putting on the info: Due to food allergies, please do not bring a dish to share. I've got it covered! I didn't want to say gluten-free because I am afraid people will try to make something gluten-free. The only neighbor I...
