  1. When I saw this title, I was hoping we were supposed to soak in a hot tub as some sort of cure. Drats!
  2. They are delicious. I was at SuperWalmart so I'm not sure they have those and was being lazy. Thanks.
  3. That sounds good. I tried to have a blue cheese dip (without trying hard since I had to make so much other stuff). I took the Kraft Blue cheese dressing and was going to add some more blue cheese to it. I tasted the dressing and thought it just tasted like mayo.
  4. Thanks! You should imagine me, hub, 2 teen boys and a black lab eating these on Xmas morning.
  5. Excellent! Thank you! I live in a state with wheat stalks on my liscense plate! We all had a good laugh about that last night.
  6. Thanksgiving went well. No one complained about gluten-free food. My sis was eating the cornbread and asked if I should be eating it. Her hub, I was worried he sometimes is picky about food, was interested in the recipes and my bag of Pamelas flour. Jess, Hub & I "L" word the sweet potatoes. J & M played with the 3 year old all night. They...
  7. Our dinner was good except I had to make it all. I let them bring pies. I made a pumpkin pie and used gluten-free Ginger snaps for the crust. So yummy. I used a fesh fork to give my mom a bite and she put the bite on her plate and handed me back the fork. My dad said, " she can't use that fork! It touched your regular pie." Made gluten-free pantry...
  8. Will you share your recipe? We usually have cinnamon rolls on Christmas morning but this year they would have to be gluten-free. My kids and hub will eat gluten-free.
  9. That poor guy needs to cut out the gluten and dairy!
  10. Maybe one of those suits that the CDC wear when dealing with infectious diseases. On a tv show, they were a lovely red color. If we all wear those, we might get some publicity for Celiac Disease.
  11. Happy Thanksgiving , everybody that celebrates it today and not some other day ot maybe never in their country! Everyone else, carry on!
  12. I might catch her on her way to NJ. She would probably pass by here.

    ARCHIVED Five Guys

My son J and his friends ( none gluten-free) go there all the time and tell me it looks like the buns are far from the burgers. They would be happy to re-check for us.
  14. The plumber was pretty cute. Plumbers have big strong hands. Hub, the boys and Extra boys are here.
  15. Broiling some bacon in the oven for the sweet potatoes recipe Jess gave me! Trying to keep someone from eating my oranges. Tornados south & east of us. At the Boy Scout Camp. No Scouts there now, but that place is a storm magnet!
  16. I don't know! I thought he meant the little hole where the flames are but maybe he can suck the guck that falls to the bottom of hot water heaters. Maybe he's just killing time until he is off work?
  17. Gas Hot water heater will not stay on. Good thing I bought the really expensive one from the plumber 5 years ago, cause it's still under warranty. He said he was going to replace the burner and vacuum it out? He keeps vacuuming and vacuuming. What is he vacuuming so long?
  18. I got new pots because my old ones were 20+ years old. These new pots will never have the slime of wheat pasta stuck in the cracks. You do need your own toaster, colander, cutting board especially if your old one is wooden. Wooden spoons that stirred wheat flour cookies you wouldn't want to use for gluten-free cooking. Just think about the things with...
  19. I think you have established, beyond a reasonable doubt, that your MIL is a danger to your children. Another thought, when she took them to her house, did she have proper car seats? Maybe you can find a seasonal job when the father is home to watch them? Sounds like a teenage babysitter in your own home is safer than your MIL.
  20. Lo! My boys have been helping with their laundry since they were 3! Completely doing their laundry since about 10 years old. Sometimes I help, yes. They might put a load in before school and if I think about , I will move it to the dryer. Or they were doing yard work and cleaning so I moved the laundry along.
  21. We stopped going to Applebees years ago, pre gluten-free, because the service was always awful and the food never right. This was at many different locations in the town where their headquarters were.
  22. I made a bread recipe and only had the foil pans which were 8x4 and the recipe wanted 9x 5 or something like that. I decided it was too much dough for the foil pan so I made 2 cupcakes with the rest of the dough. Cooked faster but came out the same as the bread. Didn't really like the recipe so I toasted it all in the oven with olive oil then added some...
  23. I'm sorry about your mom. What a blessing you were able to be with her and help her.
  24. The b12 helps your red blood cells work better is what I should have said. The iron helps you make red blood cells. What the doc told me years ago about anemia is that the few red blood cells you have, you want to work as efficiently as possible and the b12 helps that while you are waiting for new cells.
