I wouldn't mention the no birthday parties while she is in this state. Why don't you go to the parties with her? Tell the other parents you will come and help. Do be helpful. Serve juice, cleanup the games, etc. I went to most of the parties my kids were invited to until 3 rd or 4 th grade. Should have added: if this was a sleep over, 7 is too...

My grandma used to teach in a 1 room school in Iowa. She would stay with different families for a month at a time. She loved to go to one house that made the best sausage. Instead of just putting the junk bits of the pig in like most people, they put the whole pig into the grinder ( not bones). Very high quality and delicious. She lived to 100 eating... -

I had an uncle who was a farmer a long time ago when I was a kid. If you add wheat or oats or some non- meat filler to sausage, it's considered cheap and not of a good quality. -

I just took the boiled potatoes and musher up with egg, onion & a touch of flour and fried in oil. Latkes are usually the same just shredded potatoes. Called them breakfast sausage to differentiate between the sausage he was referring to by the end of the song. Odd, most sausage here is gluten-free. -

Sounds yummy. I have a blenderized loaf of bread in the freezer for bread crumbs. Of course, I really don't need more yummy fried food recipes. -

Russell Brand had a song on the movie ( his character is a rock star) about "want your bangers and mash". It got progressively more raunchy as the song progressed to the point that I don't think he was talking about breakfast sausage and potatoes. -

We have a company here that makes lovely chicken and apple sausages. Apparently, Americans like different flavors in their sausages. Peaches get used a lot in sauces and salsa, too. I did not know a peach and a peanut were cousins. Just used some of my overcooked potatoes from the other night to make potato pancakes or " Irish Latkes". Yummmmm! Have... -
My kids used to mix the cake, or whatever, up and I did the oven until their arms were long enough ( about 10).

" Get him to the Greek " was funny. Some of the funniest bits were when he was being himself. Arthur should be funny. Helen Mirren is playing the butler. ... Oh yeah, you already knew that. Jess the headache as nothing to do the consumption of adult beverages? Perhaps they contain soy? -

Oats make more sense then wheat flour. In the US they have to list the ingredients so I think they would have to say oats if you have a problem with them. -

When wheat flour is damp it gets sticky. Think of the home made glue from kindergarten. Dusting dates with it would be gross, I think. -
ARCHIVED Skip The Trouble Of Thanksgiving Dessert

These sound great! Might have one whether its Thanksgiving or not! Make sure you don't light that one under the smoke detector. Had in apartment with the smoke detector right over the stove. Everytime you cooked bacon = EEEEEPPPP! -

Me three! And he is nowhere near what I would choose looks wise. Got his movie " Get Him to the Greek" to watch tonight. Says it has the theatrical rated R version and an " unrated" version. Hmmm. Which will I watch? -
Don't understand how it works but did you upload your pic, then at the bottom change or accept, then refresh ( ctrl f5)?

In case you want to go back on the pill: Unless you are at a Catholic College, you might be able together the pill inexpensively at the Student Health Ct. If your college has a med school, usually discounts for students. Planned parenthood will do a basic exam and prescribe the pill inexpensively. County health services do this, too.

Culinary disaster tonight! Tried to make the sour dough bread and cheese straws from Robyn Ryberg? Cookbook. Both were dismall failures. Cooper would only eat the bread if I dipped it in olive oil. Was going to make one of Irish Davey Boys recipes, too but I overcooked the potatoes so I couldn't shred them. That was my fault and I will make potato pancakes... -

That's good because it's his mom. You are just an annoying stranger who she may or may not like someday. Really, she has an invested relationship with him. For all she knows, he may dump you tomorrow. If he insists on gluten-free, she might listen. -

I didn't see that. he is sooo funny. At first, I thought, how does this skinny, scruffy not very cute guy get so many girls and Katy Perry? When I heard him on a couple of talk shows, I knew. -

Beth, I think I would bring my own food. Either something I really liked more, like a taco salad. Or something that looks sorta, kinda, not entirely unlike what they are eating. Maybe a stir fry from home. It won't be real hot temp wise, but you won't feel left out. Buy a glass or 2 of wine and the restaurant won't care. If there is cake, bring your... -
Waldo does a good job. The local Celiac group had a teen meeting there so I thought I would try. They act very casual about it but they have 5 gluten-free beers and I always see someone else have a gluten-free pizza. BRGR is basically expensive burgers with a gluten-free bun and dedicated fryer. Don't go when busy. Not sure about Jess & jims. Haven...

DQ ice cream but don't get any mixed things like milkshake or Blizzards as the risk of cc is great. Jaspers - ask to talk to the chef, sometimes they have gluten...

Why would someone dust fruit with wheat? I would think that might make it spoil faster. or at the least give it a weird sliminess on the outside. -
I have done this, too without thinking. I usually take the first drink if we are sharing. We just need more practice.
