  1. Watching commercials or TV shows, sometimes I am baffled by how easy it is for people to go out to a restaurant or to a wedding and eat/drink whatever they want. It's one of those amazing luxuries in life that you don't know you have until it's gone. . .
  2. I had my last migraine at 2 weeks gluten-free. I have not had a migraine since June 2010! I had 9 plus a month before going gluten-free! I would go through all my migraine meds every month. May 2010 was the last time I had to purchase them and didn't need them! For me, it has been amazing not to have them anymore! I only get a mild headache now when I get...
  3. I got a list of gluten-free zone bars from my dietitian who only sees Celiacs. Her daughter has to eat gluten-free.
  4. Today was a terrible day for me..very busy! No breakfast--slept in---only day I get to. coffee and my bottle of water Lunch/breakfast I guess I could say- baked chicken with herbs and roasted cabbage snack--leftover chicken, some grapes out the door again! Not home until after 9:30 my daughter is in a play at church! Thinking of a glass...
  5. Still looking for a lipgloss, lip pencil, and lipstick. After all these months it seems like I should have one.

  6. I'm a teacher assistant in Kindergarten/sub bus driver. For now, with so many cuts being made, I may be forced to change jobs. I loss more time from work trying to figure out what was wrong with me last year. Plus the teacher I work with was upset by all the bathroom breaks as well. Going gluten-free at a school with gluten all around me was overwhelming...
  7. I answered my question, found this on the unsafe list here. Sorry all
  8. I'm researching ingredients for a lip gloss or lipstick. I ran across one that states on their website it is gluten-free, but has wheat germ glycerides listed as an ingredient. I have stayed away from anything that has the word wheat as an ingredient. I did some reading on this and I'm confused. Is this another, it's low so it is safe to use? I'm not going...
  9. I've had problems with this also! He is really great about brushing his teeth etc. I did have a reaction one time to make me realize and question his facial hair.
  10. I had stopped drinking coffee when first DX. I have since been drinking Folgers Simply Smooth with no problems. It is supposed to be gentle on your stomach. I drink one large mug with straight up sugar in the a.m. I would also like to add some flavor, but have yet to check the gluten-free status of any. I know the creamers would add some flavor for you. I...
  11. Yesterday before work coffee and a bottle of water Breakfast at work- 3 boiled egg whites Lunch-herb salad with veggies and baked fish, strawberries, green grapes and fresh pineapple Dinner- grilled chicken, roasted veggies with fresh herbs snack- an ounce of low fat cheese (I've just started it back with ok results) and a pack of dried pineapple...
  12. For anyone that has an ALDI near them, I picked up "Lunch buddies" All Natural (no corn syrup) fruit flavored twist. A fruit and veggie blend in grape or strawberry. I like the grape the best. They are labled gluten-free and they have gluten-free gummies too.
  13. I take Motrin IB and I've done well. You can check all meds and OTC drugs at glutenfreedrugs.com
  14. Papa Johns cheese bread and cheese pizza was my favorite!!!!
  15. I don't know if I would use the word brillant, but thanks I was once at work with nothing to eat for breakfast because I was running late. By lunch, I was starving! I'm dertermined that won't happen again. So, I cook extra for dinner everyday. I prep and pack everything up so it's easy to grab. I eat whole foods and do a lot of cooking. I like to eat a...
  16. I have to be out the door by 6a.m. on weekdays. To make grabbing something easier I boil eggs the night before or several at a time to keep on hand. I toss the egg yolks. I also cook extra chicken to have on hand. To go along with this, I have extra fruit on hand or cut up in individual containers.
  17. I buy it fresh and grow it in the summer with no problems. I try to stay away from dried herbs etc! It's one of my favorites!
  18. Thanks everyone! I'm without power right now due to a really bad storm..day two. I'm struggling on eating. I lost all my food in my fridge, but managed to grill some meat last night. I'm eating fruit, gluten-free ceral bars(don't usually eat these) and some Jello. I cannot eat nuts and I'm trying to stay whole foods. I've got a lot to do after work today...
  19. I got into some gluten, I'm pretty sure I know how. I've been so sick all afternoon and in so much pain! I've had random crying spells that are not like me. Do any of you feel more weepy when glutened? I don't know how I endured this much pain before going gluten-free. Who would think food has so much control of our bodies? I now know food changes everything...
  20. I use bare minerals make up,but that's all. I called summer of 2010 and was told that some of their cleansers etc contained gluten. I was instructed by them to take some items back and get a refund. I know on their website there is a small list of gluten-free items, not sure how old that info is.
  21. I use ZuZu eyeliner, but watch out for the lipgloss. My last check, it had wheatgerm oil in it.
  22. I've been to pf changs 5 times since going gluten-free. Twice I had the same waiter almost CC my sauce he brought out for me by attempting ( I stopped him)to mix my dipping sauce with the same spoon he had just put in the reg soy sauce. I got sick for three days after I ate there in Jan. I will go back there. I think they are knowledgable, however, will avoid...

  24. I use to have 9 plus migraines a month until I went gluten-free. I'd go through so much migraine meds! Now I only get a dull headache when I get into some gluten. I have not had a migraine in 10 months gluten-free! A lot cheaper on meds now!
  25. I live in an apartment with a very small fridge/freezer. A weeks worth would never fit in it. I usually cook for 24-48 hours. That's all the space I have for my food and regular items. I don't have much space for my gluten-free dishes as well. It makes for a lot of cooking time and dish washing time.
