  3. absolutely! and this ^ disney topic has already been heartily discussed (i even think there was a petition involved) and from what i understand, disney has pulled this episode as a result.
  4. i bet if she brought a sandwich from home, and spoken with the manager on arrival, she would not have had a problem. allowing another brand is probably against their company policy - and whomever allowed it to happen in that store would have worried about losing their job. who knows... once i did get stuck at the airport with just a turkey samwich...
  5. my dental tech <girl who cleans my teeth) <can't spell heigenist higienist hiegenist (ugh) uses these little individual packets that fit into a ring on her hand. when i asked about what was in it, she got the carton and it said in big letters: GLUTEN FREE but first, they told me, "well, you're not going to eat it" but it goes in your mouth...

  8. i suppose they don't want people peeing everywhere so, that is probably to their advantage. and, really, they *don't* have to accomodate you. or anyone, for that matter. they sell food there to make money.
  9. i agree with adalaide ^ the worst times i have had/feeling deprived/hungry with no food have been the times i haven't planned ahead. it gets easier! are you pretty new to this? if you are diagnosed with celiac, you can talk to the 'handicapped' co-ordinators - if they have a handicapped section, you should be able to find someone to help you. honestly...
  10. nope, not semen. just make sure, if you're exchanging various body fluids, that he brushes his teeth really good well. plus, if he's eating a glutenous sandwich, etc, most guys won't wash their hands after they're done eating and if they have to pee, they're gonna touch their junk, the chain of gluten, lolz if i have my druthers i would like the hubs fresh...
  11. if you have celiac, you can start with your parents. because it's genetic usually, like karen said, you can get special permission by contacting the facility ahead of time. i went to a nascar race last year at bristol and i was allowed to bring a little backpack in with food and what-not. they sell redbridge on the main concourse but we had skybox...
  12. if you have celiac, they automatically cut your arms and legs off...... oh, wait........ no, you have to change your diet. it's a big deal, but you get to keep your arms and legs lolz so, just takes determination and will power. and practice get tested before you quit eating gluten. good luck!
  13. nope. either it is or it ain't. good luck finding your answers
  14. with hand sanitizer? yikes! i learned that one the hard way - could not figure out what i got glutened with the first time we went camping and that's what it was. eating with my hands (burgers n dogs) got me after i used hand sanitizer. soap and water is your friend
  15. LOL! i know exactly what you mean love the 'shroom' - she just pops up everywhere - i sure do miss her - had to read through an old thread today and there she was. it's still really wierd my giant artichoke is nearly ready to harvest - i am watching it carefully to make sure it doesn't bloom. it is 4-5" diameter and i'm so curious how large it would...
  16. reeeealllly..... do tell! do you just use a fresh ham? how did you cook it? roast? i wonder how that would be smoked..... hmmmmm......
  17. my doctor saw the damage to intestines/duodenum <(SP!?) indicative of celiac, even though my blood testing was all negative - i was already gluten free dieting and she didn't put me on a gluten challenge because i was so malnourished. so, yes, they can see the damage on the scope. welcome to the best club you never wanted to join.... i know,...
  18. hello, kimbo - this is a very old thread (started in 2006) so, many of the original posters may not be around to answer your questions. welcome to the forum.
  19. thanks, lisa - i was going to ask y'all for info on this anyway - oh, man, that's alot of things i like to eat if you are sensitive to one, does that mean you're sensitive to all? or eliminate them one at a time (and not eat any of the others?) how would one proceed? tonight - last night with my bestie - they are steak eaters, i could live without...
  20. i have tiny cherry tomatoes, now, and some itty bitty green beans. my hubs and i looked at each other last night and said: here we go, everything is gonna come in at once - surely the weather will get to be 90 million degrees as soon as i get that pressure canner boiling!! i am getting so many strawberries - this is the first year i have had any luck...
  21. o my gosh - that happened to me, too, a few years ago i planted garlic and it never grew, so i thought i did it wrong and went to dig them up - gone! maybe the squirrels dig them up to ward off vampire squirrels lolz
  22. the first rule of 'fight club fridge' is we don't talk about fight club fridge......
  23. my body mimics a gluten reaction when i have pms - i'm sure the extra soy in hershey bars adds to this lolz i usually limit my soy intake but around 'salt & chocolate time' my willpower is weak! i am fatigued, cranky, achy and bloated/nothing digests 'right'' - lolz after almost 3 years i'm finally checking my calendar instead of jumping to the conclusion...

    ARCHIVED Chickfila?

i would skip the restaurant food at this early stage. i have a very definite gluten reaction: first a headache and i am cranky, neck ache, pain at the bottom of my left side ribcage are early warnings for me. within 2 days i have a full on reaction which will put me in bed and give me D/nausea for 14 days <hope that will become shorter as i continue...
  25. tonight, i think i made the best freaking lasagna i have ever made. gluten or not. tink noodles, make your sauce thin (or add a little water to jar sauce but i make my own 'gravy' lolz) layer your ingredients (except for the cheese for the top), cover TIGHTLY and no peeking for 50 minutes. after that, uncover and add cheese, another 10 minutes uncovered...
