  1. the restaurant i go to in nj has their staff trained at the local hospital and they get some sort of certification. never even nervous eating there even though they also serve 'regular' food.
  2. you will make small adjustments and get better at this - i started out not really believing that i had to make all these changes in my kitchen - surely not!! but, yeah, ya do i didn't believe i had to change my shampoo and conditioner (anything you use 'neck up' - i color my hair but i don't do it in the shower anymore - i must look ridiculous halfway...
  3. their review of redbridge cracks me up!! The verdict: We don’t have much love for Anheuser-Busch, but they’ve at least produced a gluten-free beer that tastes as good as their other lagers. backhanded compliment? lolz hey, all your beer sucks, so at least you're consistent hahaha
  4. lolz addie! it's a trap!!! ("step one, lacerate knee.........") RIGHT?! mine said that too!! what *IS* that? sheesh!
  5. at first, i did skip the outings. then i started eating before i went. now, i find out (kind of) what they're serving and if it's something i like, i make it. have it ready wrapped in foil and i can throw it on their grill, with my sides in a container. i got these (i danced in the walmart when i found them lolz) containers that are divided and the lid...
  6. i wonder if you could eat liverwurst and it would help - i do actually eat it, i loves me some braunshweager <sp) now i have a good excuse to eat it
  7. mine is noticably better, but it took a long time (longer than anybody wants to wait!! crappy hair!!) and i am still 'shedding' - i am currently using tea tree and lavender (gluten-free) shampoo and conditioner and i have a blow dry creme that is gluten-free and sulfate free. <better for people who color their hair) i had seriously given up on the hair...
  8. girl! i wish i had a good answer for you. i know there are better beers out there than redbridge, but i drink it because i can *get* it - walmart carries it, the kroger where i do my regular grocery shopping has it, they are even beginning to sell it at nascar tracks. but i don't love it. i used to drink killian's some, but, again, not my favorite. so...
  9. lolz! y'all are out of control had to take my sweetheart to the emergency room today - he bashed his knee unloading and had to have stitches. i usually have to threaten him to make him seek medical care. luckily, my neighbor was already here to watch the kids. and it wasn't as bad as last time but i didn't make it to the farmer's market ...
  10. hey nicole - are you taking tylenol by any wild chance? because i switched from ibuprofen to tylenol (in the interest of clearing my DH and skin problems) and i had kidney pain - i was keeping a food journal at the time and that was the only reason i noticed it. it was enough to notice that it hurt (and mine was on both sides where my waist is towards...
  11. mleh, i watch alot of cartoons
  12. hello & welcome hey,, check my s/n - is it me who has celiac?? NOPE lolz - i was in denial for probably 5 months. indeed, i have celiac. like you, i was wasting away! it came to the point that i was so sick, my doc threatened hospitalization. ain't nobody got time for that - i dragged my feet, trying to blame everything else for my ill health....
  13. yes, inquiring minds want to know was it gluten? general concensus is that the dentist should not present a worry about being glutened. if your dentist uses gluten, we are not going to him!!! lolz
  14. the first year, i still caught everything - maybe a little less the next year,, now THIS year (i will be 3 (yrs gluten-free) in july) i stayed well the whole entire winter <am usually sick from thanksgiving on through easter with one thing or another. pneumonia almost every year... not so much as a sniffle or a sneeze even though i was surrounded by...
  15. hits the spot, doesn't it ? i grew up in nj so italian food is comfort food. hubs was so happy when i finally started making spaghetti and meatballs w/"gravy" <big ole pot o sauce cooking on the stove all day it's tuesday and the mr is on the road. i has bacon. i has tomato. i might have some cowering lettuce tomorrow is the farmer's...
  16. my 'test' is going great - after a full 24 hrs, no symptoms, feeling good soooooo happy to have oats back!! although sowing any wild ones is definitely out of the question
  17. if you use the microwave, i would make sure it's covered - people explode things in the microwave (lolz ok *i* explode things..) and there might be stuff that could get into your stuff. toaster oven........ i would, i think. just make sure you put down foil like you said. you know everybody who uses it and they're not baking cakes or anything in it,...
  18. false negative blood tests are common. false positives are not. frankly, if my blood test had been positive (and i knew then what i knew now) i wouldn't have even bothered with the endoscopy. get yourself off gluten and thank your lucky stars you don't have damage to your intestines yet!
  19. what a great idea! i have been playing with 'co-planting' - probly not the official name for it - planted lettuce as ground cover for the beans. the bean plants were all small and innocent and minding their own business until i planted the lettuce. now, they be all like, "LETTUCE? AIN'T NO LETTUCE HERE. YOU SEE ANY LETTUCE, HERE, BUBBA BEAN?" "no...
  20. i don't go to a dietician and i don't have anyone following my diet. i don't know why they would want to test you before and after - especially if the oats are supposed to be gluten free.. i tried oats again today - i'm using the 'bowl test' it's free and i just flush the results (so far so good!)
  21. procurement? i can live wit dat! (hey that was easy lolz)
  22. congratulations, gatita yes, happy NEW life! (pretend awesome sparkler guy)(ih = show off )
  23. i think things *are* changing for the better. we have better labeling laws and as legislators are made more aware of the issue, i expect more and better changes. but right now, if i have to eat my burger in the car before i go in it's not going to kill me. it's all the whining, in my opinion, that gives fodder to the eye rollers. edited to add: i...
  24. Open Original Shared Link this recent article says the oakland stadium has gluten-free offerings. so your original point is moot, anyway. dang, lookit all the stadiums that have stuff! you just picked one of the suckiest ones lolz
