I used to be nice, but I've noticed I'm becoming more aggressive. Thought you'd enjoy this u-Tube link. Open Original Shared Link Watching that made me think about survival instinct. We have to have that, even if we need to roar and fight now and then, and stand up to the dominant bears.

I haven't had blue cheese in over a year and a half because I'd read the cheese like stilton, gorgonzola and blue cheese could contain gluten if the mold for the cheese was produced from wheat. I read a couple articles today that disputed that. Could be old news for everybody, but I skipped through the grocery store and bought blue cheese. Our dinner... -

I don't know if this will add insight or not, but this is my experience. I bought Solgar brand L-Glutamine 500 mg tabs shortly after I went gluten-free. I've used them sporadically, even though I'm diligent about taking my calcium and Multi-V. I started taking them more regularly in the past few months. I've had a ton of blood work done in the past... -
ARCHIVED How Much Acommodation Should We Expect?
Marilyn R replied to Irishgirl76's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Hi Alissa, and welcome to the forum! You are blessed to have a sister that loves you so much and wants to accommodate your dietary restrictions. I use Palmolive Dishwasing detergent without problem, Cascade in the dishwasher (those little cubes, or a generic store version of them. For the bathroom, Vanicream soap (available at WalGreen's is great,... -

Great suggestions everybody. I love salads. I make my own dressing, and it's really inexpensive and delicious. I take a recycled jar and pour about 1/2 a cup of extra virgin olive oil in, then add about 1/4 (you may prefer less) balsalmic vinegar, a pinch or two of salt, some fresh ground pepper, and basil (I use lots of fresh, but 1/2 tsp of dried would... -

Simone, your dinners look fabulous. Love2Travel, your dinner sounded sublime. Irish, we had pizza tonight too... a palatable frozen pizza!!! Conte's brand. It was right around $8 and the little store next to my office started stocking it. I've enjoyed that brand's frozen lazagna and manicotti for lunch a few times after a fellow a cutomer turned... -

" We get chicken, pork and beef from the local farms sometimes and of course, it is far better than store bought stuff. A Brazilian store, eh---not sure we have one of those around, but I will check. That tap starch price is awesome!" You're making me jealous, Irisheart! I'd love to purchase meat from the farmer! Tonight we had grilled salmon,... -

I popped into a Brazillian food store yesterday to see if I could buy tapioca flour. They had it in 5 lb. bags, sweet or unsweet. I got mesmerized because the husband of the shop owner was making fresh sausage. I bought a link. It was less than $3.00 for about 1 1/2' of fresh sausage. DP grilled it. I don't think I've ever had sausage that fresh... -
ARCHIVED I Moved From Silent Disease To Not Silent!
Marilyn R replied to Chopper's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I hope you're feeling better, Chopper. It gets better. If you ever want some ideas about safe foods to take to your brother's house, just ask. For instance, you can get a Wendy's chili and baked potato. I don't personally care for their sour cream or margarine, (but I could be neurotic, just so many additives), I can have a great meal with a baked... -
Hi llama, and welcome to the forum! Sending you cyber hugs ((( ))). I had allergy skin prick testing about six months after going gluten-free, because foods that were supposed to be safe weren't agreeing. I scored fairly high on egg yolks, vs. whites. That's not normal. Most people who are allergic to eggs react to the white. I eliminated yolks...

ARCHIVED I Moved From Silent Disease To Not Silent!
Marilyn R replied to Chopper's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I went symptom free for many years, it's only in retrospect when I've read articles and books about celiac disease that I go "Wow, that explains that! And that!) Surgeons chopped out my parathyroid glands and I didn't get better. I got even sicker. My thoughts (and they're just my thoughts) is that once the disease went full blown (could have been... -

I'm probably going to go alone, and have an hour plus travel to attend. (I'm from a small town north of the event.) Sounds like you have quite a bit going on. It's rare for me to meet someone else with the problem, it's only happened twice in health food stores in the past two years. I couldn't tell from your post if you wanted to meet or not. I learned... -
Does your family like corned beef? You can scrub little white or read potatoes, no need to peel, or cut up larger potatoes into roughly uniform size, chop an onion or a bunch of green onions, and toss a corned beef with seasoning mix in the crock pot. You could add a gluten-free beer or water (I just use water) and cook it all day. Left overs are great...

ARCHIVED What Do You Put In The Lunch Box?
Marilyn R replied to Jennifernawrockicor's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
I made 11 stuffed peppers today after work. I'll freeze nine of them for lunches. My partner loves them because they taste like pizza to him, and they work out to about .60 to .75 per serving depending on your stuffing choice. (If you have any Latin markets in your town, peppers cost so much less there than the grocery stores! I take the frozen peppers... -
