  1. The natural and artificial flavor is the biggie. And since they do not list the source, you still need to ck with them on the status of the product. Go to this link and print off the forbidden and safe ingredient food lists: https://www.celiac.com/st_main.html?p_catid=12 They will be a big help to you when shopping and checking labels.
  2. This highlighted part, above caught my eye. Wheat is the most common source of gluten, so if you were wheat free...that definitely could have affected your test results. If you are not eating gluten in a 'regular' type diet, accurate results can not be expected. It would be really helpful to know more about your daughter's test results. I would get a...

    ARCHIVED Ovarian Cyst

I have had two ovarian cysts rupture...that's why I went on BC when I was 17. Not had once since. For me the pain was excrutiating for an hour or so, then after it ruptured I was okay. Just exhausted for several days. I really didn't have any prolonged soreness...but I did take some painkillers for several days afterwards though... How long has your...
  4. Thanks for the updated list friend! I haven't been to TJ's in a long while, partly out of disappointment over them...now I will go back and ck out products again.
  5. Lisa- If you feel like your brain fog is serious or that it puts you in danger, I would see a doctor. If not, then I'd give it some time. AFTER going gluten-free is when I really started to get brain fog, and for a several months I started forgetting words, forgetting things I was supposed to do (rare for me) and talking in a dslyexic fashion. My dh totally...
  6. I don't do dairy and love rice milk on my cereal--I think its really good. I'd give it a try at least once if you haven't yet. Other ideas: gluten-free bar (like enjoylife), apple and peanut butter, fruit smoothie, frittata's on the go---bake eggs, veggies, meat, spices/herbs in muffin cups and bake. Then keep in fridge or freezer and heat-up in the morning...
  7. Kimberly- As Nisla insinuated...allergy tests don't always give us the "correct" information. You may want to look into food intolerance testing (IgG) vs food allergy (IgE). Hang in there--your kids are blessed to have a mom who is willing to 'get in the ring' for them!

    ARCHIVED Hidden Gluten

I'm not sure about that one, but I would definitely check--don't want you licking any gluten off your lips!

    ARCHIVED Hidden Gluten

Chelsea- Yes, some of their other products do have gluten...as well as many other makeup companies. Unfortunately, I can't recall which products exactly. One of two of MAC's lipstick types definitely have gluten in them--wheat germ oil I believe. If you e-mail them they can provide you with ingredient lists of the products you are using. Oh, just did...
  10. Rock on!! Way to influence!

    ARCHIVED Constipation

Berneses- I like your new pic, its cute I honestly think it depends on the psyllium brand and mixture. I have tried quite a few different ones in the past and have found one I think works great. In the past, I used to feel miserable for a day when I took it...but the new brand/mixture I found gives me no problems. I think the combination is what...

    ARCHIVED Hidden Gluten

Ha ha--that was funny But I'm sure it wasn't at the time! (You have a barn--and animals?) For me, my MAC lip conditioner was a source of hidden gluten.
  13. Laura- Don't worry! You can manage it--and enjoy it as long as you prepare ahead of time. I have pasted some of things that help me when traveling below: -Find local restaurants with gluten-free menus (like pf changs etc) and local wild oats or health food stores -Contact a local support group for area tips etc if there is one -Pack food! I take...

    ARCHIVED Constipation

Hey lady! Ha ha! I had to laugh at this--I think my dh and I were the same. I would say after several months gluten-free things got better and are also better dairy-free. The life-saver for me though is pysllium. It seems inevitably I always so down again at some point and it jumps start the system. Do you ever have periods of time where things are...
  15. Amy & Cassidy- Glad to hear your allergies have improved post gluten-free. I know that has happened for some others. Not for me yet though They still aren't nearly as bad as when I was young, and taking the shots though...
  16. Thanks for posting that info! That's great to hear. I"m definitely going to have to ck it out...and push my local Meijer to get more of these products if they don't have them already.
  17. Kimberly-- Anemia is one of the more common Celiac symptoms...I had it severely for years. But, it can be caused by other things too. I would echo the questions that Annette asked you. What symptoms have caused you to think wheat allergy/celiac for you, and for your dd?
  18. France- I totally agree with you about people making their own decisions, as I said in my first post. We all choose whom to trust and what path to take etc etc. Also, although I ended up calling you out with a question, so to speak, I did mention my concern with this thread leading someone astray. My contention with your earlier statement is that you...
  19. Unfortunately, I don't think doctors and researchers are totally sure of the difference, as their seems to be a developing continuum of Celiac. Dangerous Grains may be a good read for you... I agree with Rachel and regardless of which, you must remain 100% gluten-free...or you are risking damage, whether villi or damage in other organs. PS--What tests...
  20. Thanks for all the input--Zyrtec sounds like it must be pretty darn good!
  21. Do you have diagnosed Celiac Disease? Or gluten intolerance? If it is the later...I won't speak to that...but if it is Celiac, I want to remind that reactions are at times irrelevant when it comes to internal/organ system damage. Doing a cleanse will not prevent you from suffering internal damage, and side effects can not be relied on as an accurate means...
  22. Cape--hope the rhemy is a good help. Chronic pain syndromes are hard. I have FM and haven't had much help for docs-just want to recommend anti-depressants (which can help some) or pain meds.
  23. Love Changs and have had good experience with Ted's (after doing a bit of training with the manager). Ted's buffalo burgers are amazing! I'd print off their gluten-free list and take it with you--as I had trouble getting a copy of it in the resturant previously. Hope your trip is good!
  24. Thanks Julie...I'll let you know when I hear. Glad it has helped you. I did allergy shots for years until recently... They were a godsend...
  25. I have never cheated. Just can't imagine doing something that would hurt myself or contribute to a high chance of something awful like intestinal lymphoma. Its food...which is not the center of life, just a part of it. (That doesn't mean its not hard at times though, I know). I posted this somewhere else today, but for me, several things help being gluten...
