  1. No test yet. Some Celiacs do react to pure oats. However, it also could have been gluten contamination in your oats that caused the issue.
  2. Maybe this was mentioned somewhere in the past, but Former Red Wing Mickey Redmond has Celiac. I read it in the Detroit Free Press this morning.
  3. MallysMama- I also want to encourage you to focus on your blessings. I know that can sound trite at sometimes, and yes, life can be hard, and we live in a broken world (I know that from my own life), but there is much to be said for a positive or better said, grateful attitude. I do think we are each allowed our moments of despair and discouragement, we...
  4. I'm not sure why there is so much confusion over A1. I've seen several postings lately that stated it was not gluten-free. It is a Kraft product, and there is no gluten on the label, so it is safe. I checked my own bottle last night too for the hell of it. I don't think many Kraft products seem to end up on gluten-free food lists--not b/c they aren't...
  5. I might encourage them to take the ingredients in their products as seriously as they claim to take social and environmental justice. I think in time more and more companies will have to do just that as increased numbers of Celiacs and those concerned with ingredients force their hand and turn to products that can be trusted. That said, I would say...
  6. Okay, here is the Baklava Recipe to go with the Filo/Phyllo dough recipe I posted above. This recipe is for Pistachio Baklava. 10. Nicole- there is a difference, read below an exerpt from this webpage: Open Original Shared Link Is ankylosing spondylitis the same as spondylosis? No. They sound similar but they are different. Spondylosis is a term relating to "wear and tear" and is more common in older people. AS relates to an inflammatory condition which produces new bone and leads...

  14. I also had to adjust my eating post gluten-free on blood sugar... Absorbing more has changed some of the foods I like. I used to love candy, now I have no desire for it--too sweet and gives me a headache! So listen to your body--absorbing and healing does change how it reacts to foods.
  15. I will Lynne
  16. Tiffany- I went there once gluten-free...we threw a party for my parent's 30th wedding anniversary. They did a great job with my meal and gave me an entire bag of their corn pasta before the event to try. Well, corn and I don't get along so well so I have the bag sitting at home still...need to give it away to someone Glad you had a good experience...
  17. Maggie- No time to read through the whole thread so excuse me if I"m being redundant... A few thoughts on the chocking problem: schatzki's ring Open Original Shared Link (my uncle had this and it caused him to choke on food) a yeast infection in the throat--yup it happens an esophagus that needs to be dialated (due to inflammation from ie. reflux...
  18. I also agree on the 95% not cutting it--your risks of cancer, premature death etc will not return to normal, and neither will your body. A huge help for me is finding good gluten-free products I really like. Have you found any? There are some great gluten-free cereals out there. 23. Thanks Karen! I told Lynne I feel like its a big close-up of my face and I go 'Whoa' everytime I see it
  24. Neicee- Be careful! Eating even a minute amount gluten occasionally will keep you from healing and keep your rate of cancers, autoimmune diseases and premature death at a very high level. The only way to do the gluten-free diet as a Celiac is zero gluten. Get all the gluten out of your house, out of your desk as work, wherever it may lurk. And as jhmom...
