  1. Hopefully that full panel will give you some answers. What did the doc mean by 'pretty good'? That your biopsy was "pretty normal" or that it was pretty close to Celiac?
  2. another velvetta idea...don't have the exact measurements in front of me but, this one below is always a party pleaser. add the following to a crock pot on low, use as dip with chips. 1 block of velvetta, premelted in microwave 1 large can black bean salsa 1 large can salsa verde 1 lb ground sirlon, browned and drained. (like i said, don't have...
  3. Kim-- Don't be discouraged by this, but for me personally, its taken months to start getting energy back, and I still have to set boundaries to make sure I get the rest I need. Be encouraged that you will improve though...but just need to be patient. Also, I do have a friend who has taken lexapro for a while, and it does cause him to be more fatigued,...

  5. kinnikinnick bread does come frozen. my fav is the italian white tapioca. i think that is their most popular.
  6. Shweta- Hello and welcome! I hope the diet is going well in Hong Kong and that you are able to get the products you need. I spent a few days in that city several years ago--very neat. Gorgeous view of city when you are flying in--looks like its built right in the mountains!
  7. For those who are interested, I just found this company call Spins which tracks the natural food industry. Go to this website to see some of the info/stats they have come up with on the gluten free marketplace and industry: Open Original Shared Link
  8. Show me the muffins! Stefi- Brown would work fine... I do think to get the best texture etc w/gluten-free baking, it is best to mix flours in each recipe. There are so many, but my easy staples are w. rice, b. rice, s. rice, tapicoa starch, potato starch, sorghum. (Millet, amaranth, nut flours I don't use as often). So, brown would be fine, but...
  9. congrats to you! did you use a mix or recipe from scratch?
  10. It absolutely makes sense that you notice more from alcohol than before healing or going gluten-free. I have never been a big drinker...but I can tell a difference and post gluten-free, actually feel the affects of alcohol, whereas previously, really did not. However, like I said, I would have at most 2ish drinks and that is every few weeks or months. ...
  11. wild oats and whole foods have brands, lundberg, full circle, pacific, westsoy (but their contamination response was a bit disheartening to me, so i am no longer using them...)
  12. ha ha judy--you're cracking me up there some difference btwn reg and sweet rice flour. i always mix the two, but use sweet rice for thickening sauces etc exlusively. i copied this from a website on flours: Rice flour: Ground from the whole grain. Sweet in flavor. Gluten-free. Brown rice flour is made from whole grain; white rice flour from debranned...
  13. That is great Shirley! Thanks Judy for initiating and Shirley for caring and responding to this important issue. If I still lived near Philly I'd stop by!
  14. Great idea Judy and thanks for initiating...I'm sure there will be other Celiacs and gfers in your area that will appreciate your efforts!

  16. Wow Stef, I'd say that is a very unfair judgment. I think this place is very welcoming! I think the majority of peeps check posts at night. And your only thread was on weight loss supplements, which is a very specific topic, and considering most of the people here have been under weight, there is probably only a minority familiar with diet supplements...
  17. The problem is that even if the oats are gluten-free, how can you tell whether you are one of those who has a similar reaction to pure oats as to gluten, or not. This type of reaction has been witnessed in trials and research. To truly try oats safely, in my opinion, you would need to have follow-up testing done--bloodwork, biopsy etc.
  18. E-mailing my mom to bring her camera down to this week so I can take pics of the quilt So....Judy....did the eggs win?
  19. Aw, thanks Liz! I definitely have to give the internet some credit for that I read that article, it is pretty good, maybe technical for some, but good info on things that cause elevated enzymes, including celiac....
  20. Good for you to tell work what's going on...glad they are switching you around for a bit. Yes, it can take time to switch all your non gluten-free foods and products out...so be patient with yourself. Do searches here on the board and thru past threads to see about gluten-free products/tolietries, makeup etc. I decided to switch to all natural products...
  21. Stefi- Thanks--saw this and thought it sounded great!
  22. For more info read this...haven't read it all yet, talks about causes of elevated liver enzymes in asymptomatic patients: Open Original Shared Link
  23. Judy-- Hmmm, I'm going with the eggshells, b/c I think that is just such a fabulously clever idea ! Speaking of ideas--my favorite one from this fall can be found in this post. Finally deterring aggressive squirrels from my pumpkins with a hearty coating of tabasco, cayenne and black pepper ! Chrissy-- Your my hero, canning 100 qt, barefoot and pregnant...
