Judy3 replied to fran641's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Fran, I have not been in on this conversation as I missed it but I read all of it from the beginning this morning and felt I had to chime in. Wow.. you are a warrior! I've never had to battle cancer so I can't say I can relate but I can imagine the stress and pain.. and I feel for you. You come across as a woman of power and strength through your words... -
Once you get back to baking, just make theirs gluten free. I did that in my house and no one could tell the difference...!! I make cupcakes and cookies (although not often because I'm the cookie monster!!) and now they insist that the gluten free are better so I get "Mom, make yours they're better" I don't allow regular flour use in my kitchen unless...

I found them tonight in Green Bay, WI at Woodman's Market for $2.99 a box. Yay. Someone told me they also saw them at Walmart. They are right next to the regular Rice Krispies and clearly are marked Gluten Free and in a yellow box like was said before. Thanks for the tip, I would have never thought to look. Oh yeah, they taste the... -
ARCHIVED Weight Gain On gluten-free Diet
Judy3 replied to Almendra's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I just posted about this very topic on another post. I have gained about 10 lbs in the last 7 months since I went gluten free. I lost a lot of weight before diagnosis so my doctor said he expected me to gain weight... I DID NOT!! LOL but the snacks that are gluten free are so hard to put down when you really want something else. I think from my experience... -
ARCHIVED Celiac Diagnosed Just Today!
Judy3 replied to MommyMonica's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Isn't that the truth... I'm into this 7 months now and all the gluten free goodies have gotten me. Today I realized that I've gained some weight and I'm not happy. So I'm back to naturally gluten free foods like vegetables and fruit and yogurt and portion sizes have to come down. I think what happens is that we feel so deprived at first that when we find... -
I don't know if you need to be worried, it's more annoying than harmful I think. Don't know what causes it. I've had that same thing for my whole life and then was put on strong medication for it but now I'm off of that and doing fine thanks to a new chiropractor in my life. I can't contribute mine to gluten but who knows. The gluten seems to have...

Many people respond to Niacin with the 'flushing'.. apparently you are one of them.. You'll have to find the B12 sublinguals that are just that, no niacin.

ARCHIVED Glutened Or Gastroenteritis?
Judy3 replied to hsmomof6's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I am going to guess that you got some gluten somewhere at the Church dinner. If you had a virus/infection you'd most likely have more symptoms. I would keep an eye on it for the next few days and be ultra careful with staying away from gluten and I'm betting it goes away! I've been gluten free for 7 months with excellent results so yes the feeling does... -
