Lauren I am very depressed also when I get gluten. It is aweful and it was one of my symptoms before finding out. I got gluttened this past Saturday night and yesterday was miserable! I don't know about the corn. What symptoms are you having. You could try eliminating it from your diet. I think that would be the only way to tell. Go see your doctor and...

Yeah, I need to get some good recipes that are gluten-free and dairy free. That would make my life alot more interesting! I don't think I will start eating meat, because I do think it would make me as sick as a dog. I doubt I would even have the digestive enzymes for it. THere are plenty of things to eat without eating meat. It is more the dairy that gets...

Carole, I am such a mood eater! That is my biggest problem. If I am not in the mood for whatever there is, then I just don't eat! Marcia, I will try the flaxseed oil. I have used it before in shakes. My C is different then most. More of an IBS thing. Hard to explain. I really think the worst trigger for me is caffeine, which I am considering giving...

Ok, what am I doing wrong. I am vegetarian and I do eat some dairy. I just don't know what else to eat. What do you guys eat. I try and add apples, brocolli, eat a ton of beans, salads, try adding flaxseeds and prunes. I eat quite a bit of the gluten-free breads. I am very frustrated though, because I can't stay regular. Before going gluten free I would...

key replied to ravenwoodglass's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I LOVE m&m's and have had pounds of them lately. THey better not contain gluten!!! My life gets worse everyday!! HA! Monica -
I think most of my life at times I would have looser then what is probably normal stools and sometimes I would go more often, like six time a day, but never really noticed this until the past 5 years or so of having a child. Always way worse when I would eat a vegan diet. Then when I started having big problems a year ago I would have C and then very bad...

ARCHIVED Speedy Reaction Question
key replied to CMCM's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
My first symptom within an hour of eating it is excessive belching. This happens everytime, especially when the amount is more. Then within three hours it is usually nausea. THe next day the stomach cramps and loose stools. Then I end up with body aches, tiredness that day too. I also am really crabby that day. Usually it seems I end up with C after the initial... -
YOu need a referral to a Pediatric GI specialist. It won't show up as an allergy. My son's IGg level was the only level elevated, because he was so young. When they are young, celiac doesn't always show up. My son had diarhea, wouldn't eat (or ate really cruddy), spit up some still at 14 months, fussy and slept alot, wasn't walking yet and I feel it was from...

I was anorexic in college. Not severely, because I never quit menstrating, but would go days without eating. I also was always paranoid at restaurants before, because I always thought they made my stomach hurt. I never would eat at buffets. Still won't. I only eat at like one restaurant now and I get a baked potatoe with tea. No one really touches my food...

I asked my GI about this and he said it isn't very common in people under 50 years old and didn't recommend even testing me for it. I have been having severe heartburn. Mainly in my throat. Prilosec is helping me for now. MOnica

ARCHIVED A Class Action Suit Against Mcds...
key replied to Cheri A's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
People are SO sue happy. My son seemed to be sick after eating there ,but you can't expect to not get gluten when eating in a fast food restaurant to begin with. I agree they should have been better about looking into it to begin with, but like someone said here, it is just going to make life harder for people with celiac. PRetty soon, we won't be able to... -
No, but they made my son sick before, so I had already quit feeding them to him. USA

ARCHIVED Bob's Red Mill?
key replied to key's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
That is interesting. I didn't get typical gluttening symptoms or maybe it was just a small amount of gluten, but mainly for me is was the bloating. I thought maybe it was because of the fiber. My son had diarhea from it and that is why I was concerned. Maybe we are reacting to a different grain or maybe it is processed in a different place. I know there... -
ARCHIVED Bob's Red Mill?
key replied to key's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I really love Bob's Red Mill Mighty Tasty hot cereal. My kids all like it and it is so much better then other hot rice cereals. It is frustrating. I am going to try it again and on my son, because he didn't seem to be in pain. Just diarhea once, but he hasn't been having this problem in a long time, so if it happens again then I guess we won't be able to... -
ARCHIVED Gluten Free Pantry-favorite Sandwich Bread Mix!
key posted a topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
Just wondering what everyone's favorite bread is? I really love making the gluten-free Pantry mix in my bread machine. It turns out wonderful and I slice it and freeze it. My son loves it with peanut butter and jelly toasted. It is great just to eat with soup when it first comes out. It is my favorite, but I do loves Kinnikinnick's white sandwich bread... -
My son and I have eaten BOb's Red Mill "Mighty Tasty hot cereal" and it says gluten free on it. Anyway, my baby had diarhea that evening and otherwise was fine, no fussing, etc. I didn't eat it last time, because I got so bloated, etc. after the first time I ate it. I am not sure this was the culprit, but just curious to anyone else having problems with it...

Dani, I have had the same problems with digestion. I think caffeine aggravates things too. Well, my GI doctor told me if you have IBS symptoms, that one day one food may bother you and not the next time you eat it. He said there is a list of foods to avoid if you have IBS symptoms. It sounds like you are having these symptoms besides celiac. I would read...

ARCHIVED What Does A Typical Day Of Eating Look Like For You All?
key replied to BeccaM's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Breakfast; Pamela's pancakes with either butter and syrup or peanut butter and syrup, or pb and applesauce(have to vary my variety)or pancakes with blueberry's in them. Two poached eggs with Kinnikinnick english muffin toasted(cut into thirds for best taste). Corn flakes with milk and banana. Lunch; Large baked potatoe with butter and sour... -
ARCHIVED Born And Raised... First Post....
key replied to celiacuser12345's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Welcome and thanks for sharing all the great thoughts! My son has celiac and he is almost 2 years old right now. He has been on the diet almost a year. He is doing great, but small for his age. He has gained though and is thriving anyway. May I ask how tall you are?? My husband is 5'9inches and weighs about what you do. Of course if you are alot taller... -
Apples with skins, brocolli steamed, prunes, brown rice and beans. Then like others said. Grinding flax and adding it on top of her other foods is a great idea. Monica

Dani, Thanks. I have tried no dairy. My problems with C are not the normal, typical. I don't want to get gross, but it seems to be IBS related. I am fine pretty much as long as I don't consume caffeine. It makes things just not work for me, but it isn't typical C for me as they would describe in the medical field. The no dairy doesn't help me. Just gives...

ARCHIVED My Blood Test Results.
key replied to lemonade's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I had been gluten free for two months when I had my testing done. My IGg was elevated. I think mine was around 66 and normal was below 19. THis is the least specific for celiac. My Ttg(i think) was 16 and anything above 19 was considered a sign of celiac. Anyway, my doctor did say that this number is normally zero in people that don't have celiac and he called... -
I drink milk without a problem, so I don't think it is that, but thanks for the advice. If I had to drink it black, I couldn't do it. Monica
