  1. I too have the same problem it seems after getting gluttened. A few days afterwards. I had IBS symptoms before going gluten-free and would alternate back and forth between D and C. FUN! ANyway, now it seems to be more problems with C. So I do the flaxseed thing and prunes and apricots seem to work. Also I put my flaxseeds ground in applesauce and then drink...
  2. I understand that people have had bad experiences and believe me, I have met plenty arrogant doctors(some of them very good), but we can't group them all into one category. Also, if there weren't SO many lawsuits going on, it would be much easier and CHEAPER I might add to provide good healthcare. I diagnosed my son with celiac. Even after I had seen a...
  3. Taco Bell's Tostada is gluten free. THey didn't have them for awhile, but I have been ordering them. THere beans and cheese are gluten-free. I asked the lady to check the ingredients on the corn shell for the tostada and it didn't have wheat. Anyway, I have been thrilled to be able to eat them. I missed them before I found out I had celiac. ANyway, they...
  4. I understand you guys have had some very bad experiences with doctors and I have met some idiots too! I have realized that you have to be your own advocate and the internet is wonderful for that. My husband is a physician though and all the sueing that goes on, well, I am surprised any of them go into medicine. If the person who hates doctors so much and...
  5. Ok, being vegetarian and gluten-free I would definitely love to have a cure for celiac. I don't feel as if my diet is healthier at all! I ate healthy before. I could eat whole wheat bread(haven't read the book "dangerous grains), but I think the reason we as Americans have problems is from eating processed junk! I didn't do that before, hardly at all. I miss...
  6. Thanks Karen, I knew it made the nausea better, but thought it would be bad if there was gluten in it. I need the Delphi forum list, huh! I am sure it would help me out. Monica

    ARCHIVED Is This Normal?

Just a thought, but are you eating more of something you wouldn't normally eat? SUch as soy? I don't know what to tell you. I don't know what to do with myself lately! Monica
  8. Before gluten-free I used to eat more then I should at times, but hated being full or should I say stuffed. ONce I got married about 8 years ago, I hate overeating. I don't do it at all. I also have that motto. I eat to live, not live to eat! It is a very good one to follow. I know it is easier said sometimes, but I just don't like feeling gross, so I don...
  9. Pepto bismol helps me too. I have taken dramamine for nausea, but haven't checked to see if it is gluten-free. It does seem to help me though. Monica
  10. Liz, DOn't feel bad about what you did. I too have done the same thing. When you start feeling good, is when you are in trouble. You start forgetting how bad you actually felt and not having an official diagnoses can make it hard. I am vegetarian and gluten-free and sometimes I get SO hungry, I just want to eat anything, wheat or not. I can completely relate...
  11. WE love Pamela's pancake mix, but haven't tried Mona's. Where do you get it? Monica
  12. Andrew, Thanks for sharing your test results with us. I tested borderline on blood tests and the diet helped me feel better. It is hard not knowing 100% whether you have celiac, because for me, like now when my digestion isn't perfect, I start thinking maybe it was something else. I do feel better still though. I am vegetarian though and I find this diet...

    ARCHIVED Wow Im In Trouble

Yeah, If there is something else going on like Crohn's disease, then you need to be on something like prednisone, until you are feeling better. I can't believe the hospital is turning you away. Make sure you aren't going to a private hospital or whatever. Sorry you are having such a hard time. Monica
  14. THe GLUten free PANTRY bread mix is very good in a bread maker. Especially when it first comes out and then you have to freeze it right away. My husband who can eat gluten thought it was good too, so you definitely need to give it a try. No, it isn't quite as easy when you have to defrost it to make a sandwich, but well worth it when you need a quick sandwich...
  15. Charcoal does work for gas and stomach issues, but it also absorbs your good nutrients and isn't good to take all the time. It will also slow down things and make you C! So I wouldn't recommend taking it on a regular basis, but it is supposed to be great for food poisoning, etc. Monica
  16. It is hard at first, but is it really worth being that sick for?? I am vegetarian too, so that has made it hard for me. You can do it and seeing how sick you are now, should make you remember not to eat the stuff again. I like the Gluten free Pantry bread mix, but I bought a bread maker to make it in and you have to slice it and freeze it right away to...

    ARCHIVED Wow Im In Trouble

HOpe you start feeling better. We are thinking of you. Not sure what to offer you as advice. Be sure you are eating gluten-free. It sounds like you aren't eating at all. Have you been going to the same ER? It definitely sounds like you should be admitted if you aren't eating at all and have lost 80lbs. I guess eventually if you aren't able to function, then...
  18. I am sorry, but I have to agree. In a book called, "talk to the hand" about rudeness. It sure sounds like she is being rude to me. I read it to my husband too and he thought that she was being rude. Haven't read the book or any other context that statement was made in, but just my opinion. MOnica

    ARCHIVED Nausea

Just a thought, But I am convinced that drinking or eating any aspartame makes me nauseated!. It may not happen for other people, but when I have any, I have nausea on and off. SO you may want to look into that. Aspartame is in a ton of foods, even gum. I am sure most people know it is in alot of stuff. MOnica
  20. My son was very fatigued all the time, cranky, had always had runny stools. THen once we started solids he would have undigested food in his stools, pale in color and very foul smelling. He also started having like 6-10 diarhea diapers a day. HE ate horrible. Would gag on his food too. Then we put him on the gluten-free diet because I read about celiac and...
  21. OH good, I didn't see that part. Monica
  22. It does say their products are made on the same line as wheat products and washed in between, so it isnt' a dedicated line. I don't think they have made me sick. Anyone been sick from them? Monica
  23. My legs especially ached alot in the few months before finding out I had celiac. Then went away for months. THen I started getting gluttened alot in a two month period by accident and it came back. Now that I haven't had gluten. THey feel fine again. If I get gluten, then the pain in my legs comes back. It must be some kind of inflammory response for me I...
  24. I don't know about recovery for every child, but my son had an interesting thing happen recently. He is 22 months old and has been on the diet since mid-April of this year. He was happier after a week, started regaining his appetite pretty quickly too. He gained weight pretty quickly and his poopoo was less often, but for months he would have stools that...
