  1. I use it. I just buy millet and throw it in my blender as I need flour. I also have a flatbread recipe that uses rice, millet and something else maybe, and I just soak it all together then blend it. One of my waffle recipes uses it. I don't even know how many other things. I love it. I also love that I can buy a bag of BRM millet for three bucks and change...
  2. I think I'm probably having the same thing everyone else is having today. And it doesn't get to be a dirty word today. Leftovers. I made Rudi's stuffing, just the bag stuff, but with a recipe with onions and celery and such... only it had apples. I kept thinking while I was making it how weird it was, but I made it anyway and it was awesome. It isn't weird...
  3. I was disappointed by that tea. My husband sent me a pic of the holiday flavors of their teas and I told him to buy all of the herbal ones. When he brought them home and asked which one I wanted I told him the cookie one of course! Then I was like "can you just read the ingredients to me, there isn't any reason to put gluten in tea just because it says cookie...
  4. I need a guard but haven't gotten one yet because I am getting an implant next winter. I did see that case study but saw not reason to be concerned or alarmed. There are the reasons mentioned in that other thread, and lets face it... if we look back on our 9 year old selves our dental hygiene probably left something to be desired. Practice makes perfect and...
  5. For all the people are paranoid about turkeys, there are plenty of vets who have never been able to find a turkey that has gluten in it. It sounds safe, and if the prep has been done safely and it isn't being stuffed I would eat it. For what that's worth.
  6. You guys are making me look like such a slacker. It's true though, I just don't have my heart in Thanksgiving this year. Christmas though will be cookies, pies, and more food than I can shake a peppermint chocolate covered pretzel stick at. I can only get so excited about cooking for two people every so often. Glad everyone is keeping their fingers attached...
  7. Doing the Thanksgiving thing today. I got a boneless turkey roast because I really don't want to cook a whole turkey for 2 people. I have a bag of Rudi's stuffing and a can of cranberry sauce, the kind that looks like a can when you eventually get it out. Can't help it, I grew up with it and love the stuff. I'm sure I'll make mashed potatoes to put gravy...
  8. Tonight is chili. Quick, easy, practically no clean up since it's all in one pan and serves out of one dish. It'll make an easy microwave lunch for tomorrow too to get me through until dinner. I am so positively thrilled to be able to have at least some beans again. This is really going to make winter a lot more appealing.
  9. There is no manufacturer, to date, that I have contacted that guarantees that their drugs are gluten free. (And I have contacted a lot of manufacturers, both for otc and prescription.) This is for the reason Peter stated, because it creates a legal liability. Most I have spoken to will state that they don't use any gluten containing ingredients in a product...
  10. That's great news. And that is the same disclaimer that most companies give, blah blah no ingredients don't test. Standard CYA. Hope it works out.
  11. There is a difference between porous cast iron, and non-porous enamel and stainless steel of KitchenAid appliances and attachments. There is no need to be unnecessarily alarmist. With non-porous surfaces, such as those being discussed, a simple and thorough cleaning will be more than enough. These would of course not be adequate for cast iron due to it's...
  12. I never thought to look in the manual. It looks super easy to take apart to clean! Also, I'm sure my husband will be thrilled to find out they have a macaroni pasta maker. That I can't. Live. Without. (Must be new, I've never seen it before.)
  13. They're good... but when you want a yeast donut there is no amount of cake donuts that will fill that yearning void. There really are two types of donut cravings and if you mix the two up you only end up disappointed.
  14. I tried both flavors at the Expo. The only one they had at the store when I went today was the Herb and Garlic and they only had one box! GAH!!! I already have plans for all of the wonderful and amazing things I can do with crackers. Of course, those plans involve a box surviving 24 hours which until I am sated isn't likely. (I knew these existed, and had...
  15. In October when I attended the Expo in SLC I was able to try Breton crackers. They have two flavors. Skeptical by nature, I assumed these would be another cracker-wanna-be. I'm not saying there is anything inherently wrong with things like Crunchmaster or Mary's Gone Crackers, I buy and enjoy both products... it's just that they aren't CRACKERS. Not like...
  16. This won't really help you unless you're in Utah, but holy crap these are amazing! Lots of local stores have them all throughout the Salt Lake area and in the valley. Open Original Shared Link
  17. Wouldn't we all! Last night we had chicken cheddar bacon ranch quesadillas and horchata. We have some leftover chicken so my husband wants the same tonight. I finally found Breton crackers (after emailing the company in desperation begging them for information) and they told me what local stores have ordered them. I can not describe in words what heavenly...
  18. You could just make donuts. It's what I do when I want a donut so bad that I'm borderline psychopath. And no, I don't make cake donuts, blech! I make honest to God, donuts, like I remember them. When I want something, come hell or high water, I get it. There is absolutely nothing I am deprived of, short of feeling like hell.
  19. Oh I've seen the grain mill 100000000000000 times. From the outside. I always look at it and sigh whenever I'm in Bed, Bath & Beyond... or any other store that sells it. I'm curious about what the inside looks like, that's my concern. If it's all weird, it may take pipe cleaners to get into little spots, assuming you can get to all of the parts. I do...
  20. I personally would never go anywhere near a used KitchenAid grain mill. The dough hook and paddle are enamel coated, and simply washing them in soap and water should be fine as long as you clean the little spot at the top where they attach to the mixer. Since the whisk is stainless steel, and doesn't have any funky places for anything to get caught up in...
  21. I promote that stereotype too! I'm all baking and cooking and having dinner ready when my husband gets home from work. Sometimes I feel like I need one of those dresses Donna Reed wore. I actually also do my hair in pin curls because I refuse to damage it with heat styling. I'm such a stereotype it's sickening!
  22. My board says George, so I guess it's ham for dinner. I'll make some sort of potatoes and veggies to go with it. I think I have some bread in the freezer that will probably work well as a gravy delivery device. Apparently I've gone... however long it's existed without knowing about fitnessblender. I've discovered it has workouts that I'm semi-capable...
  23. I love peas! That whole trip to the store for a salad thing didn't work out. The barely above freezing weather and wind was enough to convince me that I'm not that interested in salad. Burger and sweet potato fries.
  24. Well, I managed to make hard boiled eggs without burning the house down! My husband thinks I'm weird whenever I do it, but I made myself a ginormous salad for dinner. A huge huge bowl of lettuce, topped with sliced ham, diced chicken, a boiled egg, a very light sprinkle of cheese and ranch. It sounds crazy, but it was only a little of each so it wasn't like...
  25. I think you are either going to have to just call them on a break or lunch, or switch back. Whether the reaction is to gluten or something else, you obviously aren't tolerating the medication for one reason or another and I honestly doubt the reason matters. If you were doing well on topamax, I don't see the point in switching to an extended release beyond...
