ARCHIVED Pancreatic Insufficiency
1desperateladysaved replied to pghkid33's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
My son has pancreatic insufficiency and is being treated with prescription digestive enzymes (Brand Pancreaze ingredients: Lipase, Amylase, Protease). I have celiac and I am being treated with over the counter enzymes, but I wasn't tested for official insufficiency. My functional medicine nurse told me that when one suffers from celiac disease the villi... -

One year later: Back to those foods I didn't have antibodies to again. I am really feeling better again. It is so strange, I didn't have my fatigue and mind fog, but other symptoms like inflammation just seemed to increase. I am thankful for the help I have from a functional medicine nurse. She sometimes admits she was wrong! BUT I am recovering after...

ARCHIVED How Do You Describe Celiac Disease When People Ask You "what's That?"
1desperateladysaved replied to HavaneseMom's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I basically haven't worried about what to say, because nobody asks me! -
This diet list, or a similar one helped my bladder issues. Unfortuneatly, I did not know to also cut gluten. I still have issues with my bladder on occasion around my period. This is a list I found on the internet. Sorry I lost the link. I saw another site that mentioned gluten, but lost it when I needed to leave google. 1: Cranberry Juices &...

ARCHIVED Mildest Tasting Honey?
1desperateladysaved replied to FruitEnthusiast's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
If you buy local honey, check to be sure of where it was processed. I had some trouble with honey I bought and had not checked to see if they process it in their personal kitchen. -

ARCHIVED Endoscopy And Diagnosis. Why Or Why Not?
1desperateladysaved replied to user001's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I didn't have an endoscopy two years ago when I was diagnosed. My MD doctor (at the time) didn't think it was necessary. Since than, I have been improving and having issues seeming to be related to celiac. I have had my nutrient levels go up. I decided to do the endoscopy (along with colonoscopy) now. I refuse a gluten challenge and likely the damage... -
ARCHIVED Need To Get This Off My Chest
1desperateladysaved replied to beth01's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I am amazed at the intensity of your symptoms. I always thought that if I had had such visible symptoms, I wouldn't have spent at least 30 years with undiagnosed celiac. Still I am here to happily say that I feel much better, have some energy, and am glad to give up many foods I really liked in order to gain health back. The BRAIN FOG is gone! I hope...- 12 replies

ARCHIVED Food Sensitivity Test Results - Today!
1desperateladysaved replied to Waitingindreams's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Were you eating all of the foods tested for? Whatever you are not eating, could be a false negative. Glad to hear the yeast and other deletions seem to be helping. I only eat foods that I had zero antibodies to and new different foods, and that is allowing my inflammation to go down. Dee -
ARCHIVED Sugar Causing Symptoms?
1desperateladysaved replied to spirit-walk's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Have you been tested for fructose intolerance? I try to avoid sugar to stabilize my blood sugar. For this reason I usually use bites of fruits rather than whole fruits and have them with meals. A GI doctor told me last week that they tell people with fructose intolerance to eat it using this bite method.. -
ARCHIVED Calming Intestines?
1desperateladysaved replied to BeckyW's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
It is used in natural medicine. It is an oil derived from a helichrysum plant. My essential oil book says that a couple of drops can be rubbed on the skin above the cramps to help ease them. I use this with a hot water bottle. I purchase these at local health food stores and even my local grocery store sells some common oils. Dee -

ARCHIVED Mulching Straw - A Concern?
1desperateladysaved replied to greenbeanie's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Hay is GRASSES. Often it is clover or alfalfa and other grass. Straw Is oats or wheat. I find it easy to breath in the dust of these- if I work with it. It may depend on the make up of what you are calling straw. I learned this from 7 years of farm life. -

Bumps In The Road: Food Intolerances
1desperateladysaved posted a blog entry in 1desperateladysaved's Blog
About 1 1/2 years ago I did a food antibody test to see if I could find some safe foods for me to use and any I should not use. The tests searched for Igg and IgA antibodies made by the body to combat foods that it evidently thinks are invading it. The tests showed me several surprises: Buckwheat threatened my body the hardest! (I was already off gluten... -

ARCHIVED Becoming More Sensitive Over Time?
1desperateladysaved replied to BlessedMommy's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I have become more sensitive over time. Also the character of my reactions have changed. I don't think of this as always a bad thing. I think of it that my body is better able to tell me what it doesn't like! It is also better able to get rid of it! Some reaction is a good thing, so that one learns to avoid it. My health practitioners feel that my... -
