ARCHIVED Struggling With Being Left Out
1desperateladysaved replied to christianmom247's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Yes, I feel this way sometimes. I feel left out and irritated. I ate supper inside my house tonight while my family roasted hotdogs outside. I wouldn't put up with it, but for I feel so much better and better. I just plan on bringing my own. -

1desperateladysaved replied to 1desperateladysaved's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I got a new reading for my vitamin D. Just to remember previous readings were 30(Minnesota Mn after diagnosis and some supplements, 33 (last June while gardening) and current (June) is 48! That really jumped compared to the last time! -
ARCHIVED Teeth Becoming Translucent
1desperateladysaved replied to twe0708's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I recall dentists marveling over all of the color in my teeth. They would say they had never seen anything like it. I am not sure they look transparent. Once we found pictures of teeth with celiac. Perhaps is you search tooth enamel or dentist you could find it. Dee -
I had a Genova Nutrient test 1 1/2 years back. My digestive enzymes were found to be lacking. I have been taking Genuine N Zimes Dr. Howell's Original Formula Extra-Strength also I have been gluten free for two years.. Recently did a stool test (after 4 days not taking enzymes) that measured enzyme levels. My levels were found to be adequate. I get to...

ARCHIVED Strange Test Results? I Can Tolerate Rye But Not Gluten?
1desperateladysaved replied to radley's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
What kind of food allergy test was it? In any case if you have a problem with gluten, I would avoid rye as it has gluten regardless of my test results. You may have tested had a false negative to rye because you don't eat it regularly if the tests were looking for antibodies to various foods. I had a food antibody test and found 11 of 60 foods that... -
ARCHIVED Scared Of What Colonoscopy Might Find
1desperateladysaved replied to greenbeanie's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Yes, me too. I have one scheduled in July. We just discovered blood in stool. I might have really freaked about it, but found out my problem use to be worse before my diagnosis. I believe it was about the time we did our sheet rock mudding project. I remember blaming the new low flow toilet for my problems. Learned this week that tar like stool shouldn... -
ARCHIVED Medical Records
1desperateladysaved replied to beth01's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
It is frustrating to have this happen. I try not to hold my misdiagnosis against anyone. Doctors can only do what they are trained to do. Mothers/doctors can't always feel the pain that the child feels. Some children do make up symptoms for attention or to get out of things. It is hard for parents (I have 5 children) and I am pretty sure it is hard for... -
ARCHIVED All Food Seems To Make Me Sick.
1desperateladysaved replied to kcs's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Make sure your digestion, gallbladder are working good. Hang in there if you are new. It is quite possible that you are just facing withdrawal or some body changes. Coming from a Supersensitive View, not all should have to do this: I have a lot of problems with food intolerances. I eat other foods (than I ever ate before) and that seems to work... -
I have many doctors involved with my care both conventional and natural. Conventional doctors offer only "that is a great mystery." Whereas Functional Medicine can get to the roots of things and solve them. I would be peri-menoupause to be clearer. The average age for menopause is 51 and I am 51.. That is what I meant by at the age. If one's...

My Older daughter wouldn't try my homemade gluten free buns. One day, I coached my 9 year-old-daughter through making them. When the older daughter heard that her younger sister made them, she knew she had to try them and be a good sport besides. From that day on my older daughter ate the gluten free items and liked them.

ARCHIVED Do You Eat The Same Foods All The Time?
1desperateladysaved replied to Kimbalou's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I try to keep my diet as varied as possible. For me this meant leaving out 49 of 60 foods I use to use. Many things were created for us to eat. I recommend trying some new ones as you go. My newest is jicama. I can make a hash brown type treat with it. A vegetable that is excellent and can help with digestion (according to me herb book) is fennel. ... -
I am dealing with heavy periods, but this started before diagnosis. I am at the time for menopause in my life. I have had infertility 17 years. I was diagnosed with celiac 2 years back. My doctors have recently discovered I have an ovarian cyst and uterine fibroid. I believe my functional medicine nurse attributes these to too much estrogen. I have...

ARCHIVED Gallbladder Stones Anyone Done Alternatives To Surgery?
1desperateladysaved posted a topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I just found out that I have a 1.3 cm gallstone. The natural health nurse said I should not do a cleanse to try to remove it. It would get stuck since it is too big and possibly rupture the whole gallbladder. No surgery has been recommended (as of yet) by the GI doctor, but she has more tests to run. I think she may want to discover what all needs doing... -
Is it to present a unified view? Is it to present optional viewpoints? Is it to present what we know from our own experiences. Is it to present what medical science vantage point is? Is it to support each other? Is it to help one type of person or super-sensitive and a little sensitive alike?

ARCHIVED Tell Me About Your Corn Sensitivity.
1desperateladysaved replied to GFAnnie's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Coming from a Super-Sensitive viewpoint: Even our own homegrown sweet corn makes me bloat to 5 months pregnant size last try. I avoid all corn that I find. I even avoid iodized salt. I found out the hard way that it had magnesium stearate derived form corn-at least in the brand I used. That caused me a week and a half of fatigue until I figured out... -
ARCHIVED Bladder Pain
1desperateladysaved replied to UK2004's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Sometimes a bladder problem can be caused by an enlarged uterus. Just find out that I have a fibroid. You may want to check on that. When I complained about my bladder (frequent urination) they checked for bladder infection and diabetes and nothing else. -
ARCHIVED Cooking On The Road
1desperateladysaved replied to BlessedMommy's topic in Traveling with Celiac Disease
I take my electric skillet along and cook in hotel rooms. I did get some irritated employees when I plugged in my crock pot once. They made us take it out to the lobby where they could watch it. The smell tantalized them for hours! Dee -
ARCHIVED Pancreatic Insufficiency
1desperateladysaved replied to pghkid33's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I was significantly better, but I also began a new program of avoiding foods I didn't tolerate at the same time. The body is designed so complicated, so it is often very difficult to distinguish what is happening. Dee -
ARCHIVED Food Sensitivity?
1desperateladysaved replied to SarahJimMarcy's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
My food antibody tests worked great for me! I lost my long term fogginess and fatigue (for good) after cutting out the foods they found antibodies too. When I tried to add them back in, I didn't get the old symptoms of tiredness and foggy mind. However, my body began to swell and I had lymph congestion problems. I now went back to eating no foods that...- 10 replies

ARCHIVED Super Cranky, Terrible Day. Thinking Of Hunger Striking
1desperateladysaved replied to user001's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
IF you have an ulcer, have you been checked for H-Pylori? My son was recently treated with antibiotics and herbal formula to get rid of this parasite. The nurse said H=pylori can cause ulcers. Dee -
My husband has been eating the SCD diet with me while at home. He eats whatever pleases him while away. Recently he noted that he lost enough weight to be tying his pants on! He went to work Monday after about 10 days of at home work. Shortly after lunch he felt this weakness, sweating, and had a pale face. He felt better, but not well after lying down...
