I have been trying to buy nuts that are processed by companies that only produce one product. Green Valley Pecans is a company I recently purchased from. I am super sensitive and did not react to them. I have been scrubbing and washing nuts before grinding them. I believe that grinding them helps to make them more digestible. SCD diet recommends them...

1 can coconut milk 10 strawberries 1 Tbsp raw honey blend for a smoothie, This gives a pleasantly full feeling to me. Omit the honey if you can! -
When I was 19 I fell ill with mononucleosis. From than on I carried what seemed like 100 lbs of fatigue on my back. I tried many natural ways to relieve and energize me. You see that I tried to take care of a large family. Yet, sometimes it seemed that it took more energy to make a meal than I got out of the meal. I felt tired, but the doctor said, "Of coarse...

ARCHIVED 2 Years Later And Still Dealing With Major Symptoms...
1desperateladysaved replied to luvrdeo's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Two years in and I feel like I am still in transition. I had to make many changes. I cut out many foods that I didn't tolerate. I am currently doing the Specific Carbohydrate Diet. That is grain free. I picked up some new foods. I am contacting food producers before I buy. Don't give up. It can be very complicated, but there is hope. Dee -

ARCHIVED Does Everyone Throw Up When Glutened?
1desperateladysaved replied to HavaneseMom's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I had not reacted by vomiting...until some reaction this past week! Vomiting (Poisonous items) is actually a good sign that your body is behaving properly! You know what I mean, it gets rid of the poison? Dee -
ARCHIVED Today Is The Day...
1desperateladysaved replied to Wi11ow's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Many natural practitioners feel they have good success with them. I had really good results when I lived away from foods I had anti bodies for. However, my practitioner told me to find other foods. Foods that I had not eaten, or were not tested to add to my diet. A variety of foods is important (perhaps more so than ever) . I tried some different... -
ARCHIVED Is It Possible For A Dx Celiac To Not Have A Problem With Barley?
1desperateladysaved replied to MitziG's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I know from nutrition reading that barley does not have as much gluten as wheat. However, I also know that it causes trouble anyway. Chalk one up for a lucky miss this time, but don't be convinced one can make a practice of it. Dee -
ARCHIVED Pizza Place Glutening?
1desperateladysaved replied to Steph1's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Note: Super Sensitive view and I hope you can just ignore my post, but if you can't it is really good to know that others have problems.: I react to eating a my own food at a restaurant or person's home, but I don't know if it Is celiac or something else. It would be really easy at a pizza restaurant for flour to land on the silverware or table and... -
Open Original Shared Link I appreciated that Jennifer brought it out that celiac disease causes many symptoms, not just the classic ones. She seems to describe many symptoms that were neurological as I did. The GI doctor in this program brought out that it is a genetic disease and is present from birth. That is what I wanted to talk about. When...

ARCHIVED How Long Until You Declared Yourself 100%
1desperateladysaved replied to sweetsailing's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I had 30+ years of celiac symptoms and I think my measuring stick is all messed up. Once what I thought was normal, isn't normal. I feel very much better than what I had been. I am 2 years gluten free and still feel like I am in transition. I had a couple of big lurches ahead when I started digestive enzymes and when I cut out all food intolerances. I... -
Greetings, I am on the SCD diet. It sounds to me your diet is very similar. I am not sure what you want to know about it. I have the book Breaking the Vicious Cycle by Elaine Gottschall that described it to me. One also can go to a website about it. This lists the allowed foods.www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info Digestive enzymes helped me very...

ARCHIVED No Follow Up Planned, Should I Worry?
1desperateladysaved replied to CajunChic's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I don't use doctors much, but I surely wanted some help when I was diagnosed. I would at least keep an eye on that ferritin level while taking natural supplements. My ferritin level seemed really tied to foggy brain and fatigue. If you feel really good, perhaps it would be fine for you to consider not to. Otherwise you may want to consider if you have... -
ARCHIVED Intolerance Issues....investigation
1desperateladysaved replied to rally1998's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
It wouldn't hurt to work on eating healthy. Make sure to get meat, nuts, vegetables, and fruits which are all gluten free. Also, you may want to make sure you have a full celiac panel. If you post the results in a new thread people can tell you if you did, otherwise you can hear the list of like 5 tests. If this is negative, one could still have a biopsy... -
ARCHIVED Yeast Sensitivity - Experience With This?
1desperateladysaved replied to Waitingindreams's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
I have a problem with yeast being in my airspace. The smell of yeast makes the glands in my neck smell. I have kept sugar (including fruits) to a minimum. I noticed a yeast rash on my body as I eliminated foods that I didn't tolerate. The yeast, I believe, like to feed on sugar and don't like protein much. I think they liked the foods I didn't tolerate... -
ARCHIVED Wild Rice
1desperateladysaved replied to BlessedMommy's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips

ARCHIVED Non-Gold Standard Dx Or No Dx--Which Is Better?
1desperateladysaved replied to BlessedMommy's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms

It is also possible, that a person can't detect or feel damage. Perhaps a test would be for everyone to eat the same 5pm dish and see who reacts. I am not signing up! We always say one could possibly do damage to the small intestine, BUT we don't see that damage on every occassion. All we have is a subjective reaction or a measure of damage over time... -
ARCHIVED Vanilla?
1desperateladysaved replied to BlessedMommy's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications

ARCHIVED Reliable Genetic Testing--Preferably Without Dr. Referral
1desperateladysaved replied to BlessedMommy's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I had a good experience with the company I used for my cheek swab test. The test and paperwork took me about 5 minutes and I mailed it to the lab. I received my results by e-mail in about 3 weeks. I received an explanation of the results, and even had a chance to ask more questions and was given answers. Dee -
ARCHIVED Negative Ttg Iga Without Total Iga Count?
1desperateladysaved replied to karenlynn's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
You could try contacting the doctor and see if the lab has a blood sample saved which they could run the total IgA on. My doctors have told me that this was possible to do in the past. They save some just in case something unexpected comes up. A positive IgG could be significant (even if the number is low) that is just my opinion from my nearly two... -
ARCHIVED Emotionally Right Back To Where I Was 18 Months Ago

It helps me when I feel anxious to remember how badly I use to feel. I haven't lost it all. Don't forget to enjoy how strong, clear headed and energetic you are. I also need to remind myself that when I am having a low day, that it will pass. I tend to lose hope very fast and feel as if I am dying again. But so far, after a few days I am feeling better... -
ARCHIVED Positive Genetic Test Plus Symptoms- Does That Equal Celiac?
1desperateladysaved replied to cindyb1's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I found out it is unconventional, but my MD accepted it. I did have 4/4 genes for celiac. I had symptoms she could see, I had information about changes that occurred after I went gluten free. We have since noted low nutrient levels that came up after treatment. A new MD I went to, seemed skeptical until I noted that fact. I had miss-shapen red blood... -

ARCHIVED Severity Of Symptoms Linked To Genetic Profile?
1desperateladysaved replied to sweetsailing's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Not wishing to trump anyone's genetics, but I feel like I won the genetic lottery. Actually, I believe there was no mistake for me to get celiac. I have double DQ2 and double DQ8. Fatigue seems to be associated for me and I can remember keeping my head down on my desk in elementary school. The enamel left my teeth at 17. I know when it went off, because...
