I used to fall asleep between words on a spelling test! At least not too dangerous as driving. Perhaps you already did, but if you post this on the section about pre-diagnosis you will likely get more response. I hope you will get to the root of the problem as frequent nausea isn't "Normal". There are many symptoms of celiac and those who don't...

Traveling In China & Japan
1desperateladysaved commented on onceandagain's blog entry in onceandagain's Blog
If you post your question in the forum about traveling, more people may see it. I haven't ever been to China or Japan. D -
I feel like I should yell surprise! I felt many of the same feelings in my diagnosis. I enjoyed baking and thought that bread was the ultimate healthy food. Now I loath it. I am hoping your challenge will be over soon and you will have a definitive result. D

ARCHIVED New Here And Struggling
1desperateladysaved replied to Celiacandme's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Welcome! Did you have symptoms for l year or did you have symptoms earlier, but they became overwhelming for one year? I remember the overwhelming year before my diagnosis. It did take some time for my body to heal, but I feel much better. I did have to consider other food intolerances and have eliminated many of the foods that you mentioned. I don...- 17 replies

ARCHIVED Fatigue!
1desperateladysaved replied to gwynanne4life's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I suggest adding more variety to your diet. For example in the morning run water into a pot. bring it to a boil. Turn down to medium. Add a couple of eggs. Cook about 5 minutes removing them while they are still a little soft. Perhaps you aren't tolerating the Ensure. An easy way to cook is in the crock pot. Brown some meat and toss it in with vegetables... -

ARCHIVED Doctor Only Ran One Test?
1desperateladysaved replied to targetsgirl's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Were you eating gluten when the blood was drawn? Sometimes they have taken more blood than necessary, so that you could request the rest of the panel without drawing more blood. If you are not eating gluten, the test would be false negative. I hope you get definitive results soon. You do have some symptoms and family history. If and when you are... -

ARCHIVED Dark Circles Under Eyes?
1desperateladysaved replied to BloatusMaximus's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I get puffy circles under my eyes. I have come to believe that this is an issue with lymph. When I get exercise this puffiness often goes away. I finally made the decision that I needed to exercise like I diet. I need to be a desperate lady for exercise. This is taking more resolve for me than diet. D -
I feel so much better it is ridiculous. I am carrying some damages though and still gathering inventory about it. There wasn't a day that I said, "Oh, now I am better!" There were many days I did feel that way. It feels good to have a clear mind and energy. D

ARCHIVED Questions For You, The Experts...(Advice Needed)
1desperateladysaved replied to spirit-walk's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
For probiotics I use Restore Pro-biotic that I can from Azure Standard. My son has used that and Innate Choice. He was tested and had a good supply of good bacteria in his gut. I believe it is good to vary the probiotic one uses. Maybe it is about time for me to try some others. The Restore comes with 98 servings for under 30 dollars. I add the... -
ARCHIVED Extreme Brain Fog?
1desperateladysaved replied to supersquatchy's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
My husband didn't want to hear more about it in the past either. Now, he listens some and agrees! He can sometimes see what is happening! I guess it is hard enough for we who go through this to understand. It is even harder for people near us to understand it. They don't feel it yet. I don't have all of the answers for your situation but would... -
ARCHIVED Gluten In All Grains!? Corn, Rice, Etc...?
1desperateladysaved replied to MegRie's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Dr. Osborne has celiac himself I learned that from his videos. I sent him some of my records over a year ago and got a phone consult. He actually told me the supplements I was on were good! I did decide to get help locally, but the tests he recommended (such as full thyroid panel) are the ones I request. . Some of the things he recommends (such as digestive... -
ARCHIVED Gluten In All Grains!? Corn, Rice, Etc...?
1desperateladysaved replied to MegRie's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Dr. Osborne has helped me. I am not saying grain free is for everyone with celiac; I don't know. But every time I tried to deviate from the plan he had for me, I had trouble. I am grain free as a result of first seeing Dr. Osborne's information. I am afraid to try corn and rice because I swell up even if I just smell it. My reactions may be allergies... -
ARCHIVED Extreme Brain Fog?
1desperateladysaved replied to supersquatchy's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Hang in there. I hope your fogginess will clear as my 30+ years of fogginess did. Sometimes when I felt the fogginess the worst, it was just before a break in the clouds! Have your vitamin levels been checked? One doctor told me that vitamin B is a big key for fogginess. Celiac causes the body not to be able to take in as many nutrients. Digestive Enzymes... -
ARCHIVED Pityrosporum Folliculitis/acne
1desperateladysaved replied to moosemalibu's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
My daughter (not diagnosed celiac) was just diagnosed by a dermatologist with hormonal acne. This acne had begun when she was a teen and continued on to the present and she is 25. The scars started at the sides of her face hairline, but new break outs are hovering around her chin.My first question was "Why would YOUR hormones be out of balance." We have...- 9 replies

ARCHIVED Is There Any Point To Genetic Testing?

ARCHIVED Tests To Monitor My Health
1desperateladysaved replied to BlessedMommy's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I use a "SpectraCell" nutrient test. This uses white blood cells to see what nutrients have actually gotten in to the cells. As I understand it, the body keeps the blood levels of nutrients stable while it may sacrifice the levels in the cell if there is a deficiency. This test came to be covered by insurance about a year ago. My nutrient levels were at... -
Did you have a full panel thyroid test? I had just TSH tested and it was normal. When I had the full panel we noticed that some of my numbers were borderline low when they should be in the middle of the range. D

ARCHIVED Funny Cost For Celiac Blood Panel
1desperateladysaved replied to cyclinglady's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I have noticed extreme difference in charges. If the doctor's believe I am denied coverage, than my bill goes down. For example I recently got a thyroid full panel. I heard from the insurance company which said the doctor had billed $528 dollars for the test. Meanwhile, I got notice from the doctor's office that if the insurance company did not cover... -
ARCHIVED Gluten Intolerance Or Celiac But Neg Bloodwork Last Year
1desperateladysaved replied to learning2cope's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Do you think you that with your parents permission you could create a little kitchen for you elsewhere in the home? It can be as simple as a table, electric skillet, utensils, and electric outlet. A sink would be wonderful, but a large pot may also suffice for doing dishes. I set this sort of thing up in a hotel room and it works for me. Low blood sugar...- 19 replies

ARCHIVED Dr Office Called For Appointment To Discuss Results. Bad News ?
1desperateladysaved replied to Leomag's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I remember waiting for my test results. Monday will come. I believe I would call and talk to the doctor or nurse though. Your child does seem to have many symptoms that are suspicious. I wish you all well! D -
YES, Mono can be the trigger for celiac symptoms to begin. I had mono when I in college at age 19. I went on for years with extreme fatigue, foggy mind, and bloating. I remember hearing that "She just was never the same after mono." Nobody wants celiac and the changes it brings, but to know what to do in the struggle is a real blessing. I also know the...
