  1. Happy turkey day to everyone. Gobble gobble!!
  2. I actually stopped eating Amy's meals because I got glutened twice in a row from it. The first time I took it as a fluke (and maybe could be something else I ate), but after the 2nd time I knew it had to be from that. I know lots of other people have also said they had problems with them.
  3. I tried a sample of one of their pies once (at some vendor fair) and thought it was disgusting. My everyone's taste varies, so try it for yourself; that was just my opinion.
  4. I absolutely LOVE their rainbow cookies. They are better than any of the gluten ones. And their Lace cookies kinda taste like samoas. Sooooooooooo good!!!
  5. I've made lasagna with Tinkyada a bunch of times and I think everytime I cook the noodles different. I have cooked them both al dente and cooked fully, and it always comes out great either way. I think I know what I'm gonna make for dinner tonight now.
  6. There are stuffing cubes! I haven't been to Whole Foods in awhile. Dangit! Well I bought a loaf of The Grainless Baker sandwich bread last weekend, and was going to use that to make stuffing cubes, using a recipe for stuffing on Annalise Roberts website. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post it, but here is a link to it. Open Original Shared Link
  7. Thanks guys. I do have both blood and biopsy confirmed celiac. And I feel 100% better. I just wasn't sure if I should get a follow up endoscopy because when I was diagnosed I had severe damage to my intestine. I went to one of GI's at Columbia who practices with Dr. Green and she said it was one of the worst she had seen. When I had my endoscopy last...
  8. HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY DEB!!! Hope it was fabulous! xoxo
  9. I have been diagnosed for about 2 1/2 years now and had follow up blood tests after 6 months and a follow up endoscopy last December (so a 1 1/2 after being diagnosed). My question is, when should I have another endoscopy? I need to find another GI, because the doctor I was going to went on maternity leave and never came back, so I don't really have a...
  10. I love the French toast sticks. They also recently came out with 120 calorie cookie snack packs. I tried the cinnamon ones and they are delicious.
  11. I actually was supposed to go to a discussion being held with Mr. Groopman last month about this book, but unfortunately I didn't make it. I've heard it's very interesting.
  12. There is a shrimp bisque that I get at the Whole Foods by me that is fabulous. I'm slightly more hesitant about getting stuff in the general salad bar, but I feel safe getting the soups if there is clearly no wheat ingredients in them.
  13. I actually just had an emergency appendectomy 3 weeks ago. So add me to the club of those less an appendix Luckily they did not burst (although the doctor still seems to be in shock about that), so they were able to remove them laproscopicly. The last of my bandages / tape just came off last night. The recovery wasn't that bad (except for the...
  14. He is a tibetan terrier; and an absolute riot!
  15. Oh trust me that was the very, very abbreviated version. I normally love October, but it was a crappy month. LOL!!
  16. Well we got our new puppy! We actually picked him up a few weeks ago now, but I've had quite the month. Long story short, we got him on a Sunday and 5 days later I ended up in the ER and had my appendix out. Was released from the hospital a few days later then returned for a 2nd visit a day later due to severe dehydration and a near heart attack. Spent...
  17. The Little Einstein Cinnamon Stars are also gluten-free (atleast last time I had them. But that was several months ago, so be sure to read the ingredients).
  18. Where in Long Island? It's not in Bayshore is it? I went to a bridal shower about a year and a half ago at this adorable tea type place in Bayshore. I forget the name of it... I think it was something with Milk in the name. I live in Westchester, but spend a lot of time on Long Island because my in-laws and a lot of my friends live there. (actually was...
  19. Ummmm why not drink something other than beer? When I go out I either drink wine (which doesn't sound like your thing), or vodka (preferably Ketel One) with Sprite / 7 Up & Lemon. I totally understand wanting to go out and drink with your friends while hanging out but there are other alcoholic beverages besides beer.
  20. Bell & Evans Chicken Nuggets Joan's gluten-free Great Bakes Bagels (and english muffins, but I was always more of a bagel person) Grainless Baker Mock Rye Bread Grainless Baker Graham Crackers Namaste Chocolate Cake Mix Anna's Pumpkin & Banana Bread Mixes Authentic Foods Pancake Mix Ian's French Toast Sticks Bi-Aglut Pasta San-J Soy Sauce...
  21. 1st off, we are always here for you to vent 2nd, is it possible that subconsciously you don't want to bother trying to "fix" the things that he disapproves of because you don't think it will make any difference? Just a thought.
  22. I am beyond excited to report that another restaurant in NY (Westchester) has added a gluten free menu. It is the Golden Wok in Ardsley and it is DELICIOUS!!!!! So far I have had the sesame chicken, chicken with string beans and the fried rice. I'm still in shock at how incredible it is.
  23. This recipe looks great. I also wanted to mention, for those who don't know, The Grainless Baker has phenomenal gluten free graham crackers. They are one of my favorite gluten-free products.
  24. I'm not Canadian, but happy belated Thanksgiving Canada!
  25. Well you can have a blood test done, but I think once you have H Pylori it always shows up in blood tests. Not positive about that but pretty sure. I think they can also do a stool test, but the meds for it are pretty intense and so I think they generally like to do a scope to 100% confirm you have it.
