  2. Congrats Barty.
  3. Hi Beth. As HM said, many of us had that diagnosis for many years. It's like the IBS Umbrella of symptoms, the Docs treat the symptoms but never get to the cause. I went down the medication path for Fibro years ago. In my opinion, it's a path you don't want to follow. The Docs can try many different pain relievers, anti inflammatories, muscle relaxers...
  4. Anti inflammatories and alternating cold/hot packs. That's pretty much all you can do. Good Luck. Colleen
  5. If you browse through the "What's for Dinner" thread, you will find many simple dinners. Colleen
  6. There are other locations it can effect, yes. Scalp is a common one. If you have time, look through the DH sections and especially posts by Squirming Itch. I know some DH sufferers have to avoid iodine for a time to get fully cleared. Colleen
  7. I have to say, it doesn't look like DH to me. And yes, topical steroids will effect a skin biopsy result since the antibodies are under the skin. It almost looks like you had your lap top on your bare skin. I don't really know how you would biopsy that unless the Dr. just took it from one side. There are many rashes that can develop with celiac that...
  8. (((HUGS))) Hang tight! Colleen
  9. Great to hear Jessica...It will be hard to judge your sleep while still taking the sleeping med. At some point talk to your Doctor about it? Keep it up. Better health is heading your way :) Colleen
  10. Good Job. One more idiot goin down.... Colleen
  11. Exactly Addy.
  12. IMO, You should give ebay the information you have gathered in the Dispute Communication. Also put concerns about your reputation. If this is credit fraud, it should be handled properly to avoid future problems with the "buyer" and the other "buyer". Colleen
  13. Ha! Yea, I bet the kids freaked out. It is very possible to have a shared kitchen. You just need to be extra diligent of cc. I'm assuming you have read the Newbie 101 thread. Maybe a refresher will help. Good luck. Colleen
  14. Your Welcome. And yes, do take care when handling non-gluten foods. You have gone through your Kitchen and made appropriate changes to keep yourself safe, right? Be careful eating out and work on your protocol when talking to Restaurant employees. It's a science Colleen
  15. Yes!!!. Celiac is an Autoimmune Disease. Autoimmune Diseases attack one's own body causing inflammation and other symptoms. I've been glutened about 3 or 4 times. Each time all of my other AI Diseases flare up causing all kinds of pain and takes about a month for everything to calm down again. Other things can cause your autoimmune system to flare also...
  16. I don't want to give false hope here. The problems we are talking about are due to inflammation in the area surrounding the sacrum which puts pressure on it and causes the pain. When the pain gets severe people usually start with Cortisone shots in the area, I had multiple shots in the hip bursar sacs and in the peri-formis muscles which are the ones that...
  17. Hi Nicole. The lingering stuff drives me crazy too. I have to agree with Gem on the thyroid issue. This just happened to me. I get my thyroid tested every 3 - 4 months. During the last 8 months my thyroid climbed from 1.19 to 2.68 (something close to that. It was way over 1 point higher. My Doc increased my dosage slightly and what a difference...
  18. No problem with M & M's here. Probably just a stomach ache from all the sugar?
  19. Your Welcome Cristiana. I have a shared kitchen myself. If you need help with something, just ask. Colleen
  20. Cristiana. My Sacroiliac pain was relieved also. It does take some time depending on the severity. Have you read the Newbie 101 thread under the Coping Forum? It may help you learn procedures to avoid cross contamination. Also do a search on the thread for "shared Kitchen". Good Luck. Colleen
  21. Hi Christiana. The only other treatment I know of is taking an anit-inflammatory med regularly and using this support belt. This link is only a link to the product. I'm not suggesting you get it at e.bay. Open Original Shared Link It was recommended to me by my Doc. when I had Sacroiliitis. Good Luck. Colleen
  22. Georgia guy. Remember a wheat allergy is different than Celiac. Allergy testing is different. Maybe that was the case: Colleen
  23. I haven't had Pho noodles. My mom raves about them and is always reminding me they are gluten free (she lives in Hawaii). Now I can tell her she can stop sending me Pho noodle recipes.... Thanks for the mention Laura. Colleen
  24. I Tabith, and Welcome to the Forum. First make sure they did the correct blood tests. Open Original Shared Link Here is all the symptoms that can be associated with Celiac. Open Original Shared Link When he does the endoscopy, make sure he takes 6 to 8 biopsies, most damage cannot be seen with the naked eye. Read the Newbie 101 thread...
  25. The regular size peanut butter cups are gluten-free. Holiday shapes, small bites and larger ones, ect should be checked first and may contain/do contain gluten. Do trust an educated guess on any product. And watch for recipe changes. Colleen
