  1. I posted this on the other thread, too, but thank you ladies. to all-I am currently being tested for eosinophillic disorders. they can affect children and/or adults. once thought to be rare, they now believe that they have the same or higher incidence of much more well known diseases like Crohns. the disease can include one---or multiple---food allergies...
  2. will post more later..including the cheesecake recipe. but yes, sissy, it comes with time. but this board will help speed it up. trust me, i was not nearly as well-equipped as you are (barely could cook, poor/in grad school, and I didn't discover this board until about 9 months in...)....so we'll get you there. its 110% normal to feel what you do right...
  3. have you re-done your celiac blood panel and/or biopsies? this can help-potentially-show if it is still Celiac related or other issues. It would give you a good starting point. Hang in there--- Laura
  4. sweetfudge, i highly recommend bringing your own food if not, and the people that are baking are not 100% well-versed on gluten free living, you will probably get sick. This way it doesn't inconvenience them and you know its safe. that is my motto! plus, its not the food that is important (i have to tell myself this) but its the company...I never want...
  5. Just wanted to add my experiences...I've had two colonoscopies and lucky number 3 (as well as my 4th endo) is coming up in two weeks. I have drank the stuff but haven't had the pills. Stick close to the bathroom...sometimes mine came suddenly, other times it was more delayed. make sure not to eat red jello or red kool aid as that can "stain" your insides...
  6. Molly, I don't have anything really to add but I hope you get better. (I can't tolerate any corn either, so I can sympathize). But I am happy your test was negative! Aleve is corn and gluten free, so maybe it'll help. Let us know how you do, Laura
  7. I won't be making a video but have already cast my vote (absentee ballot because of my move)...it is important to me to make sure that my voice is heard It's my personal civic duty to do so.
  8. I have used www.gfsoap.com ... very hypoallergenic, beyond gluten.
  9. Sissy, I am really confident that you will have the best thanksgiving ever. You will be so proud of yourself and your family will love it. Last year for Christmas, I came home, and my mom had made everything gluten free and I had a normal holiday...it was so awesome! A couple of other ideas...if you make any casseroles: Last time I checked, Progress...
  10. Sissy---much easier to buy online, my dear!
  11. Sissy, Girlfriend, we have you COVERED. Now, your choice of recipes is up to you, and in the coming days/weeks there will be lots of recipes posted. But I promise, you can do this and it is easy. I hosted T-G at my apt last year for my husband's family (age 24) and the first thanksgiving dinner I ever cooked (as a newlywed, age 23), I had just been diagnosed...
  12. Jmengert, I can understand why you are nervous! It can be daunting and overwhelming to go through this. Let me share my experiences (I've had three endoscopies (and one that also did a colonoscopy), a separate colonoscopy, and an upcoming (2 weeks) endo/colonoscopy --- I have issues beyond Celiac; some of these procedures were for Celiac though. Honestly...

    ARCHIVED Food List?

Your best bet to look for "normal" foods is to become an expert label reader. Then you can make more informed decisions. good lists for ingredients are at: https://www.celiac.com/st_main.html?p_catid=12
  14. make sure you use the lists on celiac.com...they will be helpful in finding which ingredients are/aren't safe until you learn more https://www.celiac.com/st_main.html?p_catid=12 Also, I would recommend Dr. Peter Green's book "Celiac Disease: A Hidden Epidemic"...it has a chapter that goes in depth about celiac-pregnancy-fertility/infertility. Plus...
  15. One of the things that is highly suspected in me because of my numerous food reactions is eosinophilic disorders. They can affect children and adults, affect your esophagus, your stomach, your intestines, and/or your colon. It can be mediated through food allergies/intolerances (they are learning more about allergies and intolerances being involved) and...
  16. jpmat, I am happy you found others who can offer some knowledge...I was confident that someone would speak up and offer help. have you done any searches on amazon for books dealing with diverticulitis? I would *hope* that there is something out there. Search pubmed for medical abstracts. and then googling is always a good shot...hopefully the combo...
  17. Jaten, Happy you got some more responses! I loved Atlanta. And yes, I am a huge Auburn fan! I was there for graduate school 2003-2005. War Eagle! Today is a big football day in my house....my undergrad is from Penn State (1999-2003) and they are playing too! Love my Lions and Tigers
