Ksee-- Stick around. I always try to remember that we all have opinions and very different bodies. What works for some doesn't for others. One person will have the best Endo in the world and swear by them while another has gotten the run around by 2 or 3. I eat dairy products, some would tell me I'm absolutely crazy for consuming it early in my "healing...

Well said. I'm kinda feeling the same way. It helps me a lot.

ARCHIVED Eating Gluten Free Makes Me Starving!
eers03 replied to taynichaf's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I'm not sure if I have this right but... You think you're celiac but don't have an actual diagnosis? You're currently having weight gain issues and are eating gluten. You lose lots of weight when you eat gluten free. You're anxious and don't want to talk to your mom about it. 1. If YOU think you're reacting to gluten and are currently... -
ARCHIVED Do You Think A Person Can "recover" From Gluten Intolerance?
eers03 replied to Monklady123's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
If by recover you mean healing of various processes and systems in the body, sure. If you mean ability to eat gluten without consequence, then no. -
I react to oats. Not on the level you described but I do react.

ARCHIVED Eating Gluten Free Makes Me Starving!
eers03 replied to taynichaf's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
vanilla ice cream, hershey syrup, a scoop of peanut butter, and a banana with a splash of milk... blend... I have to eat eggs, bacon, and two pieces of gluten free bread in the morning to stay full passed 11a. I usually do steak, chicken, or pork of some kind for dinner with sides. If you're staying hungry, adding calories is easy. not sure if that... -

Gottaski and gatita-- You two are funny! Let's revisit this mosquito thing... I bet the mosquito's that put in work on us have less gastro symptoms afterward! Thats why they flock to us--"Target identified, no bread here". They are flying high! To answer your questions, ski... I do not take a probiotic regimen. I take Vitamin D and that is all... -
ARCHIVED "well We Could Go.... Oh Wait You Can't Eat Anything"
eers03 replied to EmiPark210's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Snack. All. Day. I feel you on the hot meal thing though. On certain days when I'm out in rural areas my lunch is whatever I can come up with at an Exxon station and let me tell you... Its not a hot meal! Hang in there! -
ARCHIVED Unsupportive Family Keeps Demanding I Attend Rehearsal Dinner.
eers03 replied to rorenchan's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Without knowing you, your family, or your brother, I would submit a few things... First of all, your dad has no right to not talk to you because you can't eat and choose not to be at a Mexican restaurant. Also, your brother and his new wife could have picked a better venue to accommodate your allergy. However.... Does the restaurant have a special... -
I don't know much about it but it seems like mine have become somewhat flatter. I was running 3-6 miles about 3-4 times per week. It seems like my feet did get flatter, I've noticed some fat deposits in my heel below the surface of my skin and my recovery times from running take longer.

ARCHIVED Cramping--Calling On My Fellow Celiartians!
eers03 replied to eers03's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Gatita, Thanks for reading/responding. That's good to hear. I want the rhyme and reason behind everything--thats been my problem. I'm trying to learn to let go a little bit and accept that things will happen that I cant explain. Something Im trying to get past is assuming that everything that goes wrong with me has something to do with gluten :-)... -
ARCHIVED My Only Celiac Friend Started Eating Gluten Again, And I Feel Alone.
eers03 replied to rorenchan's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Don't totally give up. You may be the only person that has the ability to call her on what she's doing. The right time will present itself and hopefully you'll be there to gently remind her that her quality of life really hinges on being gluten-free as a celiac. I have no friends locally that have celiac disease. I think its why I am so grateful for this... -
ARCHIVED Cramping--Calling On My Fellow Celiartians!
eers03 replied to eers03's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Thanks for reading and taking time to reply. It makes me feel better! Its good to know someone else has had the same issues and is doing fine. Now that I look back I think I have done the same thing with symptoms. There for a month or so and then "poof". I'm sure this is the same thing. Just good to have reassurance. -
ARCHIVED Cramping--Calling On My Fellow Celiartians!
eers03 posted a topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I am an atypical symptom celiac. My liver enzymes were up, my weight was down, and I have total villous flattening (that hopefully is improving). Overall I'm doing much better I think. However, this past weekend I've started having some low abdominal cramping. The first night it was followed by several trips to restroom with loose but not "D" movements... -
Thanks for sharing this. VERY encouraging!

ARCHIVED Recently Diagnosed, Completely New To This :(
eers03 replied to kellyc143's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Welcome to the board! Don't worry, you're going to get the hang of this. Give your body plenty of time to heal and give yourself plenty of time to get the hang of things. GFinDC gave you some great counsel. If you're an iPhone user check out the ShopWell app. You can set your profile up for a gluten allergy and most items in the store that contain gluten... -
ARCHIVED Depressed About Eating A Restricted Diet
eers03 replied to rymorg2's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Hey, I really admire you for keeping your head in the game. If you're on here posting about your experience that implies to me that you're fighting the good fight. My diet isn't as restricted as yours so I can't totally relate. I know it takes willpower to kick gluten to the curb so restricting other ingredients really shows you're disciplined. Good for... -
ARCHIVED The New Celiac Drug Is Out There
eers03 replied to gatita's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I would submit that drugs can help or harm people. It depends on the compound and the disease state in question. If you ask someone who is living because a drug like gleevec keeps their cancer from progressing further, I would venture to say they will tell you they are grateful for the "evil, greedy, big pharma companies". Its imperfect to be sure, but... -
Sorry to hear about your mom. I lost my dad seven years ago this coming weekend. The only thing I was going to mention is that certain medications affect potassium retention or excretion. Blood pressure medicines can do this depending on the class. ACE inhibitors, angiotensin receptor blockers, and direct renin inhibitors. A lot of variables could have...

ARCHIVED Brand New Celiac Here With Tons Of Questions
eers03 replied to rene83's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
It is absolutely normal to be paranoid about getting glutened! Especially early on. I have relaxed a little because I can only do so much. I'm going to slip here or there and I just have to make sure to do my best not to let my guard down and consume it on accident. I had a particularly difficult sleeping early on as well. I'm not exactly a sound sleeper...- 27 replies

ARCHIVED Can Sugar Cause Heart Palpitations?
eers03 replied to Hala's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I would stop taking the energy drink immediately until discussing the symptoms you mentioned above with your healthcare provider. If he doesn't seem concerned, I would consider a second opinion on that one. Energy drinks are not evaluated for safety in relevant clinical trials. They have no contraindication labeling or drug to drug interaction labeling... -

Welcome to the forum! You are in the right place. I can't tell you how much reading what these gluten warriors post has helped me out in my daily life. 1. Bone Pain--I've had this too. In my ribs, my collarbone, my wrists, my femur, all at some point or another. Like you, I thought I had cancer. I've been gluten-free about 6 months and most of that...- 27 replies
