  1. acod: I always have some brown rice or wild rice in the refer, that seems to work for me as natural fiber.
  2. ? What is cream of tarter? I know it in the stores, I know to cook with it, but what is it...a form of corn starch?
  3. Stepping in, No scientific facts here, but Dr. Oz (who I think is cool) said that a steak can sit in your stomach for up to 7 days before it breaks down. Quietly stepping out.
  4. Peter, thank you for your updates.

Let alone the cross contamination. Not my idea of a tasty lunch....
  7. I take Nature's Bounty, subligual B-12, 2500 mcg. Once daily and I have seen a great improvement with energy. I used to take weekly shots, then monthly and now happy to take on a day.
  8. Sarah: I still think that there is kindness in people. Offer to purchase the cantainer explain your situation and call them jerks if they don't GIVE you one. What a good mom you are!
  9. Lister, hardwood wood chips should all be gluten free. I am not familiar with that brand. We use Cowboy Hardwood Charcoal.
  10. After about a year and I was feeling so much better, many people told me how good I looked. Guess they didn't have the nerve to tell me I look like crap when I was sick. Some people here take Probiotics/Digestive Enzymes. I could not tolerate them because of the lactose. There are some dairy free, but I have not looked into that. I do take a multi...
  11. I don't have the website for enterolab, but there is a bounty of information here about the test. Do a search, here
  12. Paisley: Glad to have you out of the closet. It always may me feel good when people learn things from these educated and sharing folk we have on this site. I am so glad that you are feeling better. Many of us had year and years of misery with no answer. OK, when you heal after a while and get the proper nutrients into you body, I can assure you...
  13. Paula: I know you and your husband have put a lot of thought into this decision. I think it's a wise one. There is no sense in your son being miserable with falling grades. He's young and he need to be out enjoying his friends
  14. I don't know if this is one of the old gluten tales, and I have never seen the ingredients in envelope glue.....but it is not recommended.
  15. Boy that put a smile on MY face...sorry. I had one who would crawl into the crib and the other, an army of twelve could not keep her in the crib. I feel your pain. Maybe, bribing may help. Take a nap and go to sleep and when you wake up we can ....go to the park and play. Good luck
  16. You could be going through some gluten withdrawal, that is not uncommon. You might also check to see of your supplements are gluten free. I take sub lingual B-12 (it disolved under your tongue and goes right into your bloodstream) It took me almost 6 months to feel better. If you are strict with you diet you will feel better soon.
  17. I just read my label and saw nothing alarming. Never the less, I would wash my hands and keep it away from my mouth.
  18. Jenny: Sounds like you did your homework. Good for you. As his blood work is positive, that is confirmation enough for celiac. Keep him gluten free and watch him grow. I see no need to stick a tube down his troat to convince the doctor. Sounds like you are on the right track.
  19. I guess that happy smile is motivation enough. Congratulations on your success!
  20. I find it interesting that "wheat gluten" is in the news because it is a pet issue. Much like the constant news regarding animal abuse. A loss of a special pet is a very bad thing and those that have a loss should be angry. Buying food that you thought was safe...yeh I am a mother whose child was abused (details withholding) at a day care. I had my...
  21. What city or town is their destination. Or what towns will they pass through? I may be able to help you with restaurants.
  22. Ok, I just wanted to update. I have found that gluten did a re-visit of peri or menopausal symptoms. Since gluten free, those night sweats are gone. They will come back if I am glutened. After being gluten free for almost two years, I found that I will have facial perspiration almost immediately after consuming dairy products. Which indicates to...
