  1. dublin1: Fear not, we talk about poop all the time here. It is a common pastime for most of us. Please feel like you are home. Questions: Are you stools abnormal recently. Do you have stomach cramping, nausea, urgency to go, discoloration or different in texture, acid in stools.....? Fatique is often associated with celiac through malabnorbsion...
  2. Okay Jerry: Two weeks, April 1st (not to correlate with April Foods Day), you will be subject to Ab's review. Perhaps some motivation to keep away from the Girl Scout Cookies. We can't motivate you any other way. April 1st begins "Abfrest" on Celiac.com. Ya need to borrow a bow tie?
  3. It took me six months before a saw much improvement, although it was twoish weeks for the D to subside. It came and went depending on my education as to what I was eating. The learning curve is steep in the beginning. Villi damage, gluten and dairy should be elimimated immediately. After the villi are healed you can try to add dairy and see how it goes...
  4. Well then, don't keep us in the dark.......show us the buff!!! (can't see from a distance, in the snow) Do I have a witness???
  5. Gosh Jerry, I love ya to death....but you are your worst enemy! Can't you get some cooperation from "the little wife" (not my words, but yours ) Would it be possible to enlist her in your efforts to keep you out of the bathroom. What she spends in cooking naturally gluten free, tasty hardy meals could save you the cost of additional toilet paper...
  6. Camilla: There are some really good articles on the home page of this site...just scroll down. Click on Site Index and scroll down as well.
  7. I would think that the evidence would point to Celiac given your strong family history. You have the option to go gluten free and forgo further testing and determine if it is Celiac or intolerance by positive dietary response. Remain on gluten for the full blood panel, or to retest the endoscopy (which results may be patchy). Many here have chosen...
  8. I wrote the company and requested a list of their gluten free products. It came in the mail within a week. Also, If I remember correctly, it is on the Delifi Gluten Free Product List for 2006. Chicken Broccoli Cheese Savory Lentil..........are the only Campbell's Soups that are gluten free In the United State (not Canada)
  9. Thanks Laura, ? What is the difference between lactose and lactase?
  10. Hey Bre: I have been out of the dating world for almost 30 years (yikes ) so, no expert here. We live in a small town and although I kept it to myself while I was my sickest, most of the people that I knew, were aware that I was having "issues". You were dx'd om 2001 and should have the diet down. Your friend should feel lucky, because you can...
  11. I would also like to inquire if casein or lactose will cause damage to the intestines similar to gluten, or just cause discomfort and symptoms. I know that this has most likely been answered several times.

    ARCHIVED Sneezing

Maybe so, but I have not seen it listed as one of the symptoms. I feel that I want to sneeze in the flour section in the grocery isle.
  13. Uggg....the things that we eat and don't even know it. Celiac brings on a new awareness, doesn't? I don't want to eat a cloned cow or whatever, either.
  14. Donna: Receiving Communion has been a much discussed subject here. (and I might add, that it never ends well and gets into theology ). I am familar with the Catholic Church. The consensus is that some parishes are willing to substitute a low wheat host for a rice based host. Others are not. A low gluten communion host, may as well be a full gluten...
  15. I think they should investigate making gas from wheat.....it works for me.
  16. Here are a few interesting facts in Discovery Magazine, March issue The Food and Drug Administration declares meat and milk from Cloned Animals SafeTo Eat and says they can be sold with no special labeling. Japanese chemists create VANILLIN FROM COW DUNG. Vanillin is the main component of vanila-bean extract in artifical flavorings. Get your...

  21. Jenny: It is really important that he be gluten free. I would suggest that you spend some time here reading the posts. There is a wealth of information here. Celiac is a very important in young children and it needs immediate concern. I did not know anything about Celiac until the doctor told me I have it. As distressed as I was, I learned. You...

  23. Betty, your picture is lovely. It's nice to see who you are. I haven't gotten that brave yet. I'm working my way through the family. I am proud of my girls. Pheobe Buffay, you are the best quaft (female dog) on the forum. Laying on your back with those inviting eyes...ohhhhh what a tease. Edit: I put in the B-word (female dog) and it changed...
  24. Jenny: I know very well how frustrating all of this is in the beginning. It does get better. Rice Krispies have MALT and it is forbidden. He can have nothing with wheat, rye, malt, barley and oats. I did not buy new pots and pans and a good hand wash cleans them well. I would throw out any teflon pans that are scratched (gluten can hide in...
