  1. Ditto, with my experience. Please be careful.
  2. lm: Your avitar kindda jumped at me. What a well groomed fellow you are. Doing a Clam Chowder this week, local and fresh.....oh the smell of the ocean.
  3. But.....that issue is mute. Let's press on with a greater knowlege.
  4. Mango: I sort of agree. As the first to post after his initial one, I knew that his claim would send ripples around here. I "with all due respect", did challenge his claim. I was concerned that others or newbies could realize this as a "cure" for celiac, and disregard a gluten free diet. Perhaps, as you said, that the cleansing helped with his candida...
  5. I have also learned that Tylenol can reek havoc on your liver if you over use. And not a good choice for those who drink libations.
  6. nate: If you were diagnosed 24 years ago. You have Celiac. If your concern is to detect the amount of damage done, a endoscopy would be appropriate, with several biopsies. An upper GI won't detect Celiac, but perhaps some ulcers or blockage. My colon and endo cost about $3,000. You could save that money and go with a strict gluten free diet and...
  7. B: This is the best support group that you can find. Everyone here on this site is wonderfully informative and the rule here is that there are no stupid questions. Everything that you could possible want/need to know is here. The recipe section is boundless. Welcome and always feel free to ask away. Lisa
  8. Did you go on the diet before your blood test? Many time that can effect the results. Bright blood in the toilet really concerns me. Have you considered having a colonoscopy to make sure nothing is wrong with your colin?
  9. Patti: I think that you always to a wonder job. You are always to calm voice of reason. We are a diverse group, which always makes it interesting. I can envision a three page debate on the color of the sky. But then, it's always "Carolina Blue" GO TARHEELS!!! For the most part I think that everyone here conducts themselves in a respectful...
  10. Angie: I pulled this out of the 2006 Delfi Gluten Free Product List. But I would encourage everyone to check for ingrediences as they change.

  12. I make a marinade that is good for flank steak, beef tenderloins, pork tenderloin, chicken, tuna and salmon... Sorry in advance, I don't measure Newmans Italian Dressing La Choy Soy Sauce Honey Ginger Minced Garlic McC's. Dried Onions Merinade over night (the longer the better) and broil, pan fry or grill. Slice thinly and serve. Another...
  13. Sorry Nancy. I could not find anything in my Dining Book. I would suggest that you bring with you some salad dressing and you can find a salad for lunch most anywhere. Hope you have a wonderful trip. Lisa
  14. One of the posters said that MSG (G - gluten) is also incorrect. MSG may not be very good for anyone, but it has nothing to do with gluten. JoR, nice letter as well.
  15. A positive blood test is a clear indication of Celiac. A biopsy can be patchy and may not be conclusive. Welcome to the Club.!
  16. A post is deleted because it has violated the board rules. If a thread gets into arguement mode, Scott has the option of deleting the entire thread.
  17. Interesting?! WHAT A WONDERFUL RESPONSE. GREAT LETTER!!!! Thank you from all of us.
  18. Eating the pie filling and not the crust, to me is the same as eating gluten. You may have heard many here say that you just can't take the croutons off the salad - a new clean salad is a must. I suspect that you step son glutened himself. I am sorry for for his distress. Also, in addition the lactose is absorbed on the tips of the villi, if...
  19. Angie: Benadryl Elixir is gluten free, just checked for you. Sweet dreams.

Update from Celiac Central: March 14, Wednesday..... Alice Bast, Executive Director of the National Federation for Celiac Awareness will be a guest on the "View", along with Dr. Peter Green, from the Celiac Disease Center at Columbia University. Gotta be a must watch. Yippy
  21. Coors Lite beer and eating commonly found oat meal is VERY unsafe for celiacs. The beer contains malt and the oatmeal is most likely cross contaminated.
  22. I don't know quite how to answer that question. It has happened before. It may be a glitch in the programming here. Give it another go and try rewording. You have a legitimate question. Sometimes the site sees certain words and changes them. Perhaps list the specific name of the product. I understand your frustration, but give it another go. ...
  23. Guhlia (Angie) is the Queen of Baked Goods. I am sure that she will fill you in. What a wonderful effort you are making.
