  1. Ich...... I was told that they, under CONCERN for those under allergines......they will begin to list the top 8 allergins in their products. Keep writing them letters and emails.
  2. The best source, is the information listed on the ingredient label. Pulled out of the pantry is Rumford, Naturals Corn Starch, lists........"made from genetically modified corn." By law, if wheat is in the caking agent it is required to list it as "wheat". I find it unlikely that corn starch would have an anti-caking ingredient. I hope this...
  3. Corn starch is safe. It is gluten free. If you have a problem with corn as some do, then it is not.
  4. Hay everyone: I'm trying to help Armetta and she has sent me some awesome letters. I do not have all of them, but I will to compile the cover letter. 5. Shawn, My first thought would be thryoid, but you have addressed that. Other though would be low blood pressure. Other than that, I have no experience with that. There are alot of smart people here with a vast amount of experience.
  6. Yeah for you!! Congratulations. A healthy new one in this world and I am happy for you and your family. I know what it's like with no drugs. My first came in 45 minutes, after four days of false labor. My "wonderful" hubby thought that it was emotional (false labor) and on the third day, the doctor finally said, "give her a glass of red wine", and...
  7. Swansons Chicken and Beef Broth are gluten free.........Organic is not Gluten Free. It will list wheat. Hope I got there in time. Ok, my answer may be confusing. Swansons is gluten free (as above), and if in another form, it will be required to list wheat if included.
  8. I would suggest that you keep a food diary. Just get a notebook with loose leaf paper and write down every thing that you eat. Document how you feel after eating the things that you wrote down and the time of reaction. There may be a pattern here that you may not be aware of. I hope that you feel better soon and feel always free to ask here.

  10. Stef-Ani: First, take a big deep breath and relax. We have all been in your shoes. It is very overwhelming in the beginning. You must have felt pretty bad to be tested for Celiac Disease. Now the good part. You can identify the reason and now it's time to learn how to feel better. Don't pitch your pantry, until you know what is good for you and...
  11. You dining cards should be a great help. With the two restaurants in our small town, duh, that's not one of them, so not too much help from me. Try going during a non hectic time and discuss your options with the manager. Often, they are very helpful. But, as you know, outside of your own kitchen, there is always a risk. Shushi, with your...
  12. Sweetfudge: Thanksgiving does not necessarily mean a roasted turkey. You could bake a chicken or just a small turkey breast. For the two of you there is no need to make a fuss in a large meal. Try: Bake a chicken, or turkey breast Rice Fresh green beans, a little chopped garlic and hormel bacon bits with a little butter. Cranberry congealed...

Lister, check out their site. sorry, I thought you meant the restaurant. I believe the chips are gluten free. I have bought and eaten without a problem.

  17. I have found that it does improve, but I am not totally back to where I was before I got sick. Make sure that you are getting the proper vitamins such as B-12 and iron. That seems to help me.
  18. My daughter just turned me on to Google Earth. You can take a virtual tour anywhere on this whole planet. I am having problems focusing into neighborhoods and houses. Has anyone else enjoyed Google Earth.
  19. Zansu: If you do a seach on Proctor and Gamble web site, it clearly states that Prilosec OTC DOES NOT CONTAIN GLUTEN. (you must have gotten bit by something else. )
  20. "I know painfully for a fact that prilosec OTC has gluten". Respectfully asking, what is the FACT that you say it contains gluten. I take it daily.

  22. I just wanted to add that I think this is a GREAT thread.......
  23. This may be a premature post.......as I have not read through the last few pages. This is not to brush anyone's feathers the wrong way, but just a thought on my own: I am not a Celiac. I am a wife, a mother, an aunt, a member of a community, a participant in life, but I am not a Celiac. I am a person that has Celiac Disease. What is A Celiac...
