  1. I get symptoms for 2 weeks. The first week is worse--for instance, I was glutened by CC 2 days ago. From 2 hours after ingesting the food, I have had nausea, gas, low ab. cramping and I'm very depressed and apprehensive feeling. I had to go out earlier, and was afraid I was going to throw up--I really never do, but the nausea is that bad. This will probably...
  2. Yes--I have low vitamin D--I take cod liver oil to suppliment. I can't stay out in the sun very long at all--the summer, especially. After just a couple of minutes, I feel faint.
  3. You sound like you might also post on another site--one that I enjoy lurking on
  4. That is what I had to take--I couldn't remember the name!! Go Lightly--NOT
  5. I use Hormel, too
  6. Rachel--I don't know if this will help, but I didn't use the Fleet Phospho Soda--my doctor said something about it upsetting the electrolites? Anyway, I had to drink a laxative that came dry in a jug. and I added water to it the day I was to use it. I had to drink a glassful every 20 minutes for 5 hours. It was awful! It dried out my mouth at the beginning...
  7. I sure will--and you know what I have found (for myself)-- that CC tends to occur more with the so-called natural brands more than some of the mainstream ones. For example, I have had no problems at all with Kraft, Con Agra or Lays. I use their products frequently.
  8. Thanks Kim--I'm thinking that's what happened with the almond butter, too. I have an email into them but haven't heard anything yet. Some companies just do a better job at protecting against CC--that is what I am seeing.
  9. Thanks, Jen--I have used digestive enzymes one other time, and they were great. They contained some stomach soothing herbs, but also had malt diastase--at the time I thought this was a gluten ingred. and stopped taking them! I'm thinking it had to be the Almond Butter
  10. You know--I have seen that there may be some sort of link--either between Celiac and Schizophrenia, or possibly the gluten-free diet. I will try to remember where I read this, and get a link. For the life of me, I can't remember now...hopefully, someone else will. Best of luck Wish I could have been more help.
  11. Better understanding on the part of more food manufacturers so there would be less CC worries. I'm ok with my limited food choices--not much I can do about that--but the CC will get me altogether too often with products and eating out. I think I used too many words there
  12. I can definately relate to the "smell" thing, too. It was much worse in the several months before diagnosis--(when I was at the absolute sickest)--that's when I first noticed it. Now, if I'm glutened and the reaction lasts more than a few days, I can detect it again. Like someone said, it's like the body is getting rid of the offending protein any way...
  13. Michael--Have you ever tried Pea Butter? It's made from roasted peas--gluten-free and nut free. It's not bad at all.
  14. I thought of doing that--but was afraid it would be too hard (solid) without the oil. Since I also eat peanut butter with a spoon, I don't need it spreadable anyway. Thanks!
  15. I thought the same thing--don't 97% of Celiacs go undiagnosed? Makes sense that there would be lots of people all around us that are affected. Something to think about
  16. Just curious--has anyone had problems with any of these? I suspected that their digestive enzymes were causing a reaction months ago, and discontinued them. Yesterday, I tried their Almond Butter for the first time--about 2 hours later (my typical reaction time), I began to get gas, and some cramping. I had no appetite for dinner, and this morning, after...
  17. I can just see it--about 15 minutes past, the board gets flooded with posts, only to be completely quiet again 3 minutes later....repeat several times for the hour!!!
  18. You always have something interesting to contribute!! And I think you're right--we'll all be watching
  19. Running to the tivo now Thanks Laura!
  20. Cooks Hams are a Con Agra product--they will clearly list any gluten in the ingredients. They're also delicious!
  21. Prevacid is gluten-free--I've been on it for about a month now. It does cause D in some people--I, unfortunately am one of them! I noticed that this went away, for the most part, in a week or so. Sorry you are not feeling well--maybe something else like CC or even a virus? You could be reacting to something else in the Prevacid--if it dosen't resolve...
  22. Lynne--Just seeing this this morning. This would be so wonderful--please know that my prayers are with you. God--I'm excited for you
  23. How nice! Your boss sounds like a keeper. And those cookies ARE good
  24. Hi Lisa--My vote would be either the lipstick or the blush--the rest looks ok to me. I get Neutrogena Moistureshine Lip Gloss and Lipsticks at CVS. Lots of options there. Bare Escentuals are available at sephora.com and at qvc.com.
  25. Two that I have checked on myself are--Smuckers Natural and Skippy Natural. The Skippy Natural is new, I believe, and it is really good--I eat it by the spoonful . It has only peanuts, salt and palm oil.
