  1. That is TOO funny--but whatever works, right
  2. Aquina--Your tests do indicate Celiac--if you feel you would need a biopsy, stay on the gluten and schedule it now. Actually, you could just begin the gluten-free diet now, focus your energy on getting all of the gluten out of your life and begin healing/feeling better now. It's your decision, of course--good luck with everything
  3. Wow--that got there fast!! Well, it turned out perfect because today's your birthday--another present ! Hope you enjoy it--do make the cocoa--I do it with pure cocoa powder, sugar and the milk. It's so good. If you make up a pitcher-full, be sure to mix very well--use the hot water method on the label--it tends to want to clump on the bottom. Have fun...
  4. That sounds delicious That would work well, I think, with the GFP Cake and Cookie Mix, done as a cake.
  5. I'm absolutely addicted to Dove Dark Chocolate
  6. Hi Christine--I eat Oscar Mayer Bacon, but I know that Hormel is gluten-free also. I eat Fisher Roasted and Salted Almonds--I called the company, and the (very nice) man told me that they do not use gluten in the processing of their almonds. I've had no problems with them at all--I get them at my reg, grocery store.
  7. I had hoped that by now (10 months) I would feel much better more consistantly. When I first went gluten-free, I felt so much better than I had been, but then the other food intolerances kicked in. I've been spending the last few months trying to figure it all out. I do know that I am a lot better than I was this time last year. There are periods where...
  8. I love orange and chocolate together, too! In the "old days", I used to love oreos washed down with o.j.
  9. My experience with anemia is almost identical to Julie's. I was severly anemic, prior to diagnosis. I couldn't stand for any length of time with out feeling faint. I gave up my job during this time (this in addition to the GI stuff, etc.). My doctor had me taking iron suppliments, but they upset my stomach even more--causing me to feel even worse. Thank...
  10. I saw that this morning, too. I emailed her months ago about possibly doing a segment about Celiac on the View--and never got a response.
  11. I love the Dove Smooth and Soft anti-frizz cream--it comes in a little pump bottle. Dosen't give that hard, crinkle-y feeling.
  12. I believe that the only Barbara's Cereal that's gluten free is the Honey Rice Puffins. The rest of them are not.
  13. At my 6 month, the doctor asked me how I was doing with the diet, and if the D was improving. He asked if I needed any meds for cramping and told me to come back in a year. Short and sweet Hope your appt goes well!
  14. Ha--it sure is! This hair has a mind of it's own Good luck with finding just the right product for yours! Oh--have you looked into Matrix? I BELIEVE it uses silk proteins--you'd have to double check on that, though.
  15. YES!! I had an itching in my right ear that, I swear, lasted for years. Since I've been taking antihistimines regularly, it has gone away. It was a constant itch deep inside my ear--no redness or anything like that. Strange--I now have something similar going on with my left eye. The antihistimines help for a while, but it keeps coming back. The ear...
  16. I like Whole Foods and Wegmans best. I will also go to Shoprite. I've been to Trader Joes a couple of times--just not that impressed.
  17. Hi again--I want to tell you that I did get the Shikai Everyday Shampoo & the Conditioner over the weekend. I've used it twice now, and really like it! My hair is very soft and shiny. I let it dry curly yesterday, and blew it dry today--looked good both ways. Yes, their body broducts contain gluten--but I did confirm by phone that the hair products...
  18. Tiffany--I agree very strongly with your thoughts on the National Wheat Assn. I think we're up against a brick wall on that one.
  19. Bev--What do you take for the reflux? I've been on Prevacid for about 3 weeks now, and it is working very well. Is it something you have to continue indefinately?
  20. The very best gluten-free hamburger bun I ever had (when I was still on grains) was Grandma Ferndon's--hands down. The downside is that their shipping costs are super high. But the buns--m-m-m
  21. Yes--If you're going there anyway, definately check it out. They mark their own brands gluten-free, lactose free, vegan, kosher, etc. They have a really good selection of natural toiletries, teas, produce--I think you'll enjoy looking around there.
  22. Rache--That's so funny! I thought that maybe, because you're from Western Pa., that you had one. We have them here in NJ and Eastern Pa and up in NY. They're a huge grocery store--and very special-diet friendly, for a major chain. Oh well, gave it a shot!
  23. We enjoy the Lancaster, Pa. area. Very scenic, good antique area, lots of nice little country shops. Nearby is Hershey, Pa. If you like outlet shopping, there's plenty of that, too. Live entertainment, tours of Amish country, etc.
  24. Rache & Jaimi--If you have a Wegmans nearby, their store brand pancake syrup w/2% maple syrup is marked on the bottle gluten-free. It's $1.99 a bottle!
  25. Hi Claire--I don't know if this was the exact thread you were refering to, but you could try here: Open Original Shared Link
