Actually, the rice dream *ice cream* does not have barley in it, or used in the processing. Yep, it's been confirmed with the manufacturer, and nope, it doesn't make any sense, in my mind. I love my rice cooker, and it produces perfect rice every time, but it's pricey. (It's a Zojirushi fuzzy-logic rice cooker.) If you want to get a blood test, you need to be eating plenty of gluten for approximately three months prior to the test. You don't have to get a blood test to eat gluten free - the diet is entirely up to you - but for your potential future family, the test could prove useful. There are pros on cons on both sides. -

I prefer crumb crusts myself, and this year, made muffins (just plain ones - with cinnamon and nutmeg) and dried them out, then crushed them up in the CuisinArt, and used a little apple sauce to hold them together for the apple pie crust. Tasty, and healthy. -

Because you absorbed at least a good portion of the sugar that the carbs were converted to - which translates directly to energy, particularly if you hadn't eaten enough earlier in the day. Well, what tests are in the celiac screening? It should have included, at least, antigliadin IgA, antigliadin IgG, tissue transglutamase (tTg) IgA, tTg IgG, and total IgA. There is no reason to sacrifice your health to keep someone else's peace - they decide to go wonky on you, after all. In that situation, simply say "No thank you, it may make me sick, and I'm not willing to risk it." Focus on the fact that IT IS YOUR CHOICE. It's not their choice what you eat; it's all your choice.
