  1. Thank you so much! ((Hugs)) back. Interestingly I've had episodes of urethral spasms and the constant urge to pee a few times. And the residual feeling I have now is just that. I'm wondering if this has been an issue for a whole and maybe yesterday I finally passed a stone large enough to cause agony.
  2. Thank you so much dear friend! It is indeed always something! I think it may possible explain the episodes of constantly needing to pee with no UTI evident. We will see. I do eat really well, too well according to the Dr. The foods that are high in oxalates are fruits, veggies and nuts! Alas, I will now have to go see a urologist. I feel so...
  3. Thanks so much for the hug!! Much needed. I do agree that as soon as I think I have something figured out, something else comes up. So thankful for this group!
  4. Aww...thanks Manasota! That does help more than you know. I'd just spent a week grain free and felt so much better digestively so I'm disappointed. I can't cut out all grains plus all the oxalates. The oxalates are in very healthy foods...spinach, which I love, is really high. They just said to reduce. Try to eat low to moderate oxalate foods. ...
  5. So...I spent last night at the ER with a kidney stone. So not fun! I started off at my GP's office where they thought I was having an issue with an ovary. They sent me off to the ER for imaging as everything was closed by then. The ultrasound revealed nothing wrong with my ovary thankfully. Right after the ultrasound I desperately had to go pee and in...
  6. Hi Malissa, I do remember being very exhausted. Needing naps, etc. Like the previous poster said if you haven't had your B12 and ferritin checked, do that. Also add vitamin D to the list. Mine was low, as was my ferritin. Thyroid issues can cause exhaustion as well...if you haven't had your thyroid checked recently, now would be a good time...
  7. I'm so very sad to hear this. You will be greatly missed. You've been a wonderful source of comfort and inspiration to many...myself included. Thank you for everything you've done for us all. I'm crying typing this....so hard to hear. I do hope you continue to chime in...your wisdom is invaluable. Love and (((((((((((hugs)))))))))))
  8. You are most welcome for the hug...I could use one too most of the time. It stinks to not feel well and be trying to figure out what's going on. Please let me know how you do on the med change. Also if you try tirosint. I'm interested in that as it has so few ingredients! Remember to get all of your levels checked 6-8 weeks after. The effectiveness...
  9. Hi Tigercat, I'm sorry to hear that you're not feeling well... ((((hugs)))). Have you had your antibodies checked to see if you're getting glutened? That may be the place to start. I do take Levoxyl without issues. My antibodies came back great last summer. When I was on generics I had some issues, but going to the name brand stabilized my thyroid...
  10. Brilliant answer by Gemini! I won't eat anything prepared by anyone other than myself or my hubby or another celiac. Even people with the best of intentions don't get it. My own mother would have glutened me on Thanksgiving if I hadn't asked the questions I did. Lesson learned there...doing Thanksgiving myself from now on!
  11. Hi Flowerqueen... ((((hugs)))) for your frustration. Know that you are not alone as many people seem to have ongoing issues even while maintaining a gluten free diet. When after 6 months gluten free I was still having a lot of gut issues, I gave up soy and dairy. That helped some, but I was still constantly bloated, uncomfortable and having D. I...
  12. Hi heyitsmissa, I've read that going gluten free can help thyroid issues, but haven't experienced it myself. It's fairly common in people with celiac to have thyroid issues as well, so do request the tests from your Dr and see how they come out. Hope you're feeling better!
  13. Hi Itsmissa, Have you ever had a full thyroid panel? It would include TSH, Free T3, Free T4, TPOAb and TgAb. If you haven't, make sure you ask for that as well. Many people on this site have Hashis in addition to celiac. As far as a big swing, with autoimmune thyroid disease a lot of swings can happen. I had recently a 1 year period where...
  14. Thyroid issues can make everything worse! Have you been tested for Hashimotos? If not, you should request that from sure. When my thyroid is unstable or undertreated I feel absolutely awful.
  15. Hi Liza, I'm sorry to hear that you are feeling poorly, it must be discouraging. (((Hugs))) Have you had your thyroid fully tested including tests for autoimmune thyroid disease (Hashimotos and Graves)? I feel terrible when my thyroid is off. The thyroid plays a part in everything function in your body. These are the tests you need if you haven...
  16. Wonderful! I've found my food diary to be so helpful in figuring out things. So glad for you that you figured this out.
  17. Completely agree. Wait to get all of your celiac testing done before you try something like this. If you test positive for celiac then the treatment is a gluten free diet. It takes a while to feel better, especially if there is a lot of damage. But, it does happen with time. Your blood tests should be back soon? Though it's hard to wait when you don...
  18. Bummer...the wait goes on. Well do keep following up on both, it sometimes helps just feeling like you're doing something. I really hope you get answers soon and start feeling better!
  19. You're welcome...I hope it works for you...waiting while you feel bad is so hard! I've done this successfully more than once and will do it again when I need to. Have your celiac blood tests come back yet? If you haven't heard, you can call them as well. My Dr's office was just sitting on mine when I was diagnosed. I'd gone back in as I was getting...
  20. Hi Xcalibr, One thing I've done successfully when I've gotten an appointment that isn't coming soon enough, is call the Dr's office on a regular basis and say, "Hi, I have an appointment with Dr X in March, but am wondering if he has any cancellations that are earlier?" I've gone from having an appointment 8 weeks out, to 2 weeks. You can also ask...
  21. I'm so sorry for your experience and frustration...I've been there. I've walked out after a Dr's appointment and sat in my car and just cried out of frustration. If you're in the US, you can order your own lab tests...here is some info on that: Open Original Shared Link Also, info on the optimal valued for the tests: Open Original Shared...
  22. Hi Ender... ((((hugs)))) I hear your frustration, I do. I think full thyroid testing is necessary. A lot of people with celiac have Hashimotos too. When you have Hashis you can swing between hypo and hyper and it's awful. I've experienced it. Request the addition of Free T3, TPOAB and TgAb tests. Your TSH should be very close to 1...just being...
  23. I agree... (((((hugs))))). One thing that I've done to get in earlier to get results is to call in the morning and say I've got an appointment next week, but I'm wondering if you've had any cancellations before that. It's gotten me from waiting 3 weeks to just a few days. Just a thought...
  24. Great job getting through it! Please do let us know when you get results. The gallbladder thing is crazy...but at least you won't have to have surgery to have it removed like so many of us!
  25. I agree with cycling...I get those horrible flooding periods as well. Ugh...if your ferritin was tested soon after it would be more likely to be low. Maybe work on the iron rich foods and try doing the supplement a couple of times a week instead of daily and see how you do.
