  1. I also go to Mayo. The best thing about Mayo is if they run all the tests and the numbers come back like you are seeing, they will do more testing to figure out what in the heck is wrong with you vs shrugging their shoulders and sending you on your way. I don't know how the U of Chicago works with multi-disciplinary work like that but I would do what I...
  2. Having the right blood tests done are very accurate. Even if you live in a small town, there has to be a bigger town you could go to for a complete work-up, blood tests and endoscope if necessary. With your symptoms, any good doctor will order tests.
  3. Just another suggestion, if you want the biopsy just to cover all the bases, have your doctor call in the test and set the appointment with the GI. They can usually get you in much faster.
  4. That is her. She's small so she still looks like a puppy, 12 lbs.
  5. Last time I was in Penzy's I spent about $90. The clerk said "haven't been here in a while, huh." I about died laughing. I was mostly buying gifts but it's so true!! I LOVE their small boxes for hostess gifts!! Plan changed, hubs was not home so I had gluten-free hash browns and a Udi hamburger bun toasted with seasoned butter. It was the first gluten...
  6. No need to delete--it might help others later on.
  7. PupPeroni is not on that list. They are made by DelMonte in CA. I checked ages ago when there were first issues with dog foods/treats.
  8. Can you eat Nutella? They have some smaller sized ones and it doesn't need to be refrigerated. They do have some travel packs with breadsticks or something in them that I'm assuming are not gluten-free so watch for those.
  9. Our kids are all adults now. She gets small, pea sized pieces of one of those sticks when she comes in from doing her business. Probably adds up to 1/2 stick a day, maybe . She's maintained her same weight for 8 years. She self-regulates food too. She's 9.
  10. Have you been checked for lactose intolerance or a dairy allergy? Do you have any lung issues--chronic coughs, pneumonia, bronchitis??
  11. If it were me, I would buy a private insurance plan this fall that covers Mayo and go there. I would focus on the IgG subclass 2. Did they run all of the subclass tests? All of the bacterial stuff going on could possible trace back to that depending on how low that was. The ringing in your ears and dizziness is very likely Meniers' disease. It's an...
  12. http://www.penzeys.com/ You can see if there is one near you or order online. Also sign up for their catalog. They have fantastic recipes and you get a coupon for a free spice each catalog (monthly). The recipes may or may not be gluten-free but they can probably be adapted to work.
  13. She got a call back and they still want to see her since she is symptomatic to either further investigate celiacs or other causes for her symptoms.
  14. With a small range of 32-36, a 31.9 is nothing to be concerned with.
  15. Could she not eat the fruits, veges and meat because it made her sick or because the dr said no? Also, is she 20 years old? I would suggest doing the endoscope and the rest of the bloodwork and maybe other testing if she really can't eat fruits, veges and meat. There isn't anything left to eat after that so she needs to find something she can eat. If her...
  16. I found a recipe a few years ago that called for coating chicken in buttermilk, dredge in flour, coat again in buttermilk and flour and fry. The key was to put it in hot oil and keep the heat consistent while frying--so not loading up the pan too much and adding pieces slowly. I would season the flour with whatever sounded good. The skin came out very...
  17. I'm thinking this is happening to me. Back in college and off and on up until about 10 years ago, I would get cysts in my wrist from overuse. I haven't really had issues at all in the past 10 years until about 3 months ago. It's not the same type of pain as the cyst but it's in the same general location. It was really bothering me about 3 weeks ago to...
  18. I am eating at Texas Roadhouse on Sunday for a work thing. I love Texas Roadhouse, but sadly, it looks like it will be my last time there. I have to be officially gluten-free next week so I have one more shot but I was looking on their website to find a gluten-free menu and found this : Open Original Shared Link Basically they said since it's too...
  19. When I was in middle school I made graham cracker crusts with jello and whipped cream filling. I love those "pies". I wonder if they are as good as I remember...probably not
  20. Your pasta calls for a wine sauce or maybe pesto . I wish we had Meijer's. Our store carries some gluten-free pasta, spaghetti and penne I think but it's $4 or 5/box. I prefer Vermicelli personally. Hopefully I can find that some day.
  21. I don't like eggs so that solves the good/bad for you debate here I haven't eaten out much since I was diagnosed but I will be on the road doing more testing all next week. I did rent a hotel room with a kitchenette so I can cook for us mostly. I have to see if there is a Red Robin near there. My daughter loves it there and it sounds like a good place...
  22. I like the hard apple ciders. I bet it takes similar! I'm making gluten free pizza tonight. I found some crust mix and I'm going to put feta, spinach and tomatoes on for toppings.
  23. I think these are gluten free?? They are Pup-Peroni dog treats. She eats Wellness Grain free that is gluten free so I'm good there. Meat By-Products, Soy Grits, Sugar, Liver, Beef, Propylene Glycol, Salt, Garlic Powder, Caramel Color, Natural Smoke Flavor, Potassium Sorbate (Used as a Preservative), Sodium Nitrite (for Color Retention), Red 40, BHA...
  24. I haven't heard from my daughter yet but I saw they added more testing to her appointment list so I'm guessing they want to see her. They have her signed up to do more blood work, a urine and stool test and a carbohydrate breath test. It doesn't look like they are planning an endoscope yet. Probably going to see what the other tests say first.
