Hi! Have you been checked for vitamin and mineral deficiencies? Sometimes iron deficiency anemia is unresponsive if there is an underlying copper deficiency as well. Riboflavin, folate, B12, and pyridoxine (B6) are also needed in blood production. Here's an article on copper deficiency symptoms.... https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/copper-deficiency...

You're right, not all of the vitamins you consume will be absorbed. But even with high dose thiamine, it's not going to cause toxicity just because it's in your system. Excesses are excreted in urine. I spread out my thiamine doses throughout the day and with meals. While damaged guts are struggling to absorb nutrients, I believe taking supplements...

I Stayed on the B100 because you need all the eight B vitamins since they work together. I didn't see benefits until I Increased my thiamine intake to 300mg or above. And I made sure I was getting enough magnesium because thiamine needs magnesium. I also took Niacinamide in addition to niacin. It's a different form the body can more easily use. The...

Found a couple of articles for you that mention thiamine deficiency and goosebumps. Thiamine deficiency can trigger wonky fight or flight responses. I've had the goosebumps and the upsets that seem to come over trivial stuff. High dose thiamine (benfotimine) has helped me so much. https://www.hormonesmatter.com/asthma-a1at-deficiency-thiamine...

Villus atrophy is not nerve damage. The villi in your intestines should normally be long finger like projections waving around in a sea of digestive juices absorbing nutrients from your food. Picture anemones where Nemo and other clown fish live. Gluten damages these villi. Instead of long finger like projections, the villi become short and...

Quoted from... https://rarediseases.info.nih.gov/diseases/9181/abdominal-aortic-aneurysm "Abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) is thought to be a multifactorial condition, meaning that one or more genes likely interact with environmental factors to cause the condition. In some cases, it may occur as part of an inherited syndrome.[3] Having a family...

I layer all the ingredients like lasagna and get "unrolled" cabbage roll casserole. None of that fiddling with toothpicks or string, just coarsely chop the cabbage, layer, pop in the oven. Much quicker and just as tasty!

No, MisterSeth!!!! You should NOT be able to feel your heartbeat in your abdomen!!!!! Feeling your heartbeat in your abdomen is a sign of an Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (Triple A). It is deadly! My mum confided in me (sorry, mum) that my dad couldn't get it up anymore. I urged her to get him to the doctor ASAP. Any changes in a man's "performance...

KittyButterfly, Welcome to the forum! Sorry you're having some trouble, but we'll go over some steps and have you dancing and twirling again in no time! It's great you're already keeping a food journal! You might want to include notes on mood and bowel movements. I call mine the food/mood/poo'd journal. I, too, have had the inflated balloon...

knitty kitty replied to Fareeha's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Fareeha, I'm so sorry your daughter is sick. My heart goes out to you both. I am not a doctor. I am not providing medical advice. I survived severe malnutrition before my diagnosis. I was deficient in thiamine, as well as many other vitamins and minerals, because Celiac disease causes malabsorption. I speak from my personal experience. I... -

Pseudo Gout of the knees vs celiac
knitty kitty replied to NickL's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I was curious about your question, and researched a little. I'm not a doctor. This isn't medical advice. You may want to talk to your doctor. Gout is caused by high levels of uric acid. Lactic acid has precedence to be cleared by the body first. High levels of lactic acid are caused by thiamine deficiency. Here's the study that found lactic... -
Instead of melatonin as a sleep aid, you can take tryptophan, vitamin B6 (pyridoxine), and magnesium. You could also try passion flower extract, but not with tryptophan because it can make you euphoric. ? hope this helps

The itchy rash associated with Celiac Disease is Dermatitis Herpetiformus. It flares up when glutened. It also flares after consuming foods high in iodine, like tomato sauce. Hope this helps.

Did the doctor give you an antibiotic? I have Type Four Hypersensitivity to Sulfites. Antibiotics often contain Sulfites or sulfite preservatives. I have gotten gastrointestinal symptoms when I was given sulfur based drugs. You may want to discuss this possibility with your doctor. Hope this helps!
