  3. Pacific did the same thing; their almond milk used to be soy-free, but now it contains soy lecithin. (I've been meaning to write them a letter, but haven't gotten around to it yet.) Fortunately, Pacific's hazelnut milk is still soy-free, and I sure hope it stays that way! I've also been using Living Harvest's hemp milk, which is gluten/dairy/soy-free....
  4. I make lattes with it, and I haven't had any problems. It says gluten/dairy/soy free (and possibly other things, but those are the ones I worry about) on the box, and none of the ingredients seem suspect. Jeanne
  5. I've never heard that before - how could alcohol stop working to kill germs? It's not at all the same process as bacteria acquiring resistance to antibiotics. Jeanne
  6. My recollection (but it's been a few months since I looked at labels) is that the newer, unsweetened Pacific almond milk has soy lecithin, but the original plain and vanilla flavors don't. Their hazelnut milk definitely doesn't have soy lecithin. (Gonna go make myself a latte with some right now!) Jeanne
  7. Oooh, I'd love to see that study! Do you have a reference for it? I've been Gluten-free Casein-free for almost 2 years and recently took a trip to France where I decided, heck with it, I'm eating French cheese! And much to my surprise, I didn't get the skin reaction that casein has always given me in the past. I still had some VERY minor stomach issues...
  8. Same here. Here's my best guess: it looks like I *do* have the button for threads that I've looked at previously, but not for any others. So maybe someone decided that we don't need that button if we've never looked at the thread before? Still, I'd rather have them back. Jeanne
  9. I use 1% hydrocortisone cream. I'd been using it for years for "eczema" on my doctor's recommendation. My eczema disappears almost completely when I stay gluten/dairy/soy-free, but if a little bit slips in, the hydrocortisone cream does seem to help it go away faster. Jeanne

  14. It's been awhile, so I'm not sure I remember perfectly, but my recollection is that there are a few different types. The most common type, which my son had, they usually outgrow between ages 2 and 5. (And he split the difference by outgrowing it right at 3-1/2!)   18. Yes, it's yummy!! I get the one that's yeast-free as well as everything-else-free, and I'm amazed at what a good texture it has even without the yeast. It does dry out pretty quickly, so I slice it and freeze it as soon as it cools. Jeanne

  25. I was at a coffee shop several months ago that had biodegradable cups made out of wheat starch. At least I think it was wheat starch; I clearly remember that my reaction was, "YIKES! Gluten in the cups????" So yes, it's possible! Jeanne
